After having ADT for 3 years, and satisfying our commitment with them, and paying for the equipment that ADT installed, in our monthly rate, we called the same saleswoman. She arrived and told us that she doesnt endorse ADT anymore and she now works for a better company, and we'd benefit switching over to them and their system named Affinity Integrated Solutions. We were told that it works the same as ADT did and we'd pay for our upgrades with our monthly subscription and it would be just a couple of dollars more than ADT a month. With the new system all our doors would still be armed, as well as a new video doorbell. She added a new camera for our driveway and back patio, as well as all of our windows. AGAIN, we were told that a 3 year monitoring commitment was needed to pay for these upgrades. Sounds great??? 2 months after the installation a charge was on our checking account from a finance company. Upon some searching here and there we found out that NOTHING she had told us was the truth. TRUTH is, we now have a 10 year, yes 10 year, 120-month loan, at 11.99%, PLUS a monitoring charge of $36.99 a month for 39 months. NEVER was the word FINANCE, or INTEREST RATE ever mentioned or even thought of!!!! We trusted this woman and considered her a friend. Running a search of my e mails I found an e mail from the finance company in my spam file that was sent to me 5 days after we authorized our ADT "FRIEND" to upgrade our home. We would have had been able to cancel all of this within-in 3 days, but didn't know until I read this e mail 2 weeks later. Never were we given a copy of our monitoring agreement which we were told we would receive via text and e mail with in 24 hours, which we never did. we called and spoke to the woman who betrayed us and sold us this and she in turn had her boss contact us. He tried to make things right by paying us $520, and 6 months free monitoring services. BUT we're still stuck with a 10 year note at 11.99% We are senior citizens on a fixed social security income, I'm 70 years old and will have this bill until the age of 80. I use to look forward to my twilight years but now afraid of my future and that of my senior wife. This has and will put a strain on us for the next 10 years plus. PLEASE beware of this company trying to win you over and giving you the world!!!!! It's despicable what this company does and how they run their business. BEWARE!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS have them print out what you are signing, do not do a docu-sign and just click where they tell you to click! While on the property, he stated, "I just want to say, the Steelers suck." He then laughed at the camera. I told him to leave my property, and he did while laughing. The incident was recorded, and the representative's face is clearly visible. This conduct was inappropriate and unprofessional. Upon answering the door, I found what I assume was a college student, going door to do, trying to sell this product. He was very aggressive from the start, talking endlessly, and whenever I was able to get a word in edgewise, and ask a question, he could not answer the questions. Even the most basic question, how much is the service, he could not answer. I asked this multiple times, and he'd just talk in circles. I told him I already had home security, which he noted, and began talking trash about their service. I finally began to ask this idiot to leave, I asked several times, and he just kept rambling on, so I finally closed the door on him and was done. The interaction was 100% unprofessional, and even if I was in the market, I would not give this company any business.

While I want to support a local company these guys make it difficult. Their brand new…read morestate-of-the-art Honeywell Lyric system was installed in my new home by the builder. This thing has all the bells and whistles of a modern alarm, but as it turns out they're all hidden behind a paywall. My $255/year got me something they called "internet monitoring". I assumed based on the name that meant I could monitor my alarm over the internet or an app. But no, that's basically Carolina Alarm using your internet connection for monitoring. If your alarm goes off they get notified and you get a phone call (it's 2018, not 1996). In order for you to get notified via SMS or push notification they require and extra yearly fee. Also to add all of the cool home automation features the Lyric is capable of handling, another yearly fee! When I realized the limitations of the system I wanted a full refund (I was going to buy a Simplisafe system, and ultimately will when my year is up) but was told I could not be refunded as it was paid for as part of my home closing. Just a lame excuse!! I ultimately paid for it and should be able to get MY money back if I choose not to use the monitoring. So I guess I'm in for $255 for a year, but they won't be earning my business next year. Shame!
