She truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly--and it shows. The facility itself is immaculate and safe! Every time I've visited, it's spotless, secure, and clearly well cared for. You can tell Jayann takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. She doesn't put up with anyone's nonsense. That level of attention to detail makes such a difference when storing your personal belongings. What also impressed me is how easy it is to upgrade or switch to a different unit if your storage needs change. Jayann made that process simple and hassle-free--no stress, no confusion. If you don't want someone watching you every time you go in and you try to get something from your storage. I don't recommend you to go here the manager there she gonna harass you like she's harassing me as well. I had a two storage unit here and they're gonna expire this month. I will not renew over there at all. They don't have a nice customer service the manager, she harassing me just because I store my car parts there and every time I bring my coworker on his truck they are watching me or she sent her guy to follow me and watching me. I feel like that kind of harassing me and she just give me a phone call today and she told me I've been seeing you you bring a quiet people, which is my brother and his truck or my cousin is in his truck or my coworker. Complete and utter lack of sympathy and regard for my family and I. My storage unit was destroyed by rain water from the ceiling during the heavy rains San Diego had during December. Their lack of maintenance caused black mold to fester, and puddles of rancid water to develop, destroying 3/4 of my items. I made multiple dump runs to get rid of my belongings. Was very hard not to take things with us, but after speaking with mold specialists was in our best interest and the health of my wife and three small kids to not take furniture with us. Wife and I had valuable weeding items which were drowned in 18 inches of water in a bin. I hope those who read this know not to go with this storage facility. I will be filing multiple insurance claims. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! WORST MANAGER EVER! Shyla literally laughed at me when I tried to explain my situation. THEY RAISED MY RENT FROM $280 to $325 after 5 months. I've stored my belongings there for years and I cannot tell you how safe I feel that they are protected and safe. The property is always clean and well cared for, day or night, and security is of the highest quality. Any details on my units I can conveniently hear with a simple phone call- there is never a delay, or holding on to speak with my store managers. Both JayAnn and Magda are polite, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and address any concerns I may have. I am so very grateful for their service, and their unwavering attention to my stored items that are so dear to me. I believe fully that all customers at my Extra Space facility are also treated with the same care and respect. I have stored over the years with other companies and the experience was horrendous... But horder man 5 stalls down from me literally lives there...he's got 2 stalls and they are NO JOKE filled from top to bottom, front to back.... he pulls out a chair and just stares at his stuff. Renting a storage unit was easy using their website. I did need to talk to the manager but she was very friendly and efficient and got everything squared away. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. We have had our stuff stored here for the past few months now with no issues until recently they decided to change out the doors on the storage units. They said they sent out letters to inform everyone but we never received ours. It wasn't until we went to get stuff from the unit that we realized everything was put back wrong and stuff was broken and missing. They had put large items on top of fragile boxes and broke many pieces of furniture and other items. We have baby pictures and canvases that got ruined. Of course they say we can get compensation for the things broken but there's valuable items that money just can't buy. They are so unprofessional in the way they handled the situation. Anyone with a brain would know to not store heavy items on top of fragile boxes and to not store pictures in a way where they would crack or break. read more

My ecommerce business is growing and I needed extra space to store my inventory till it ships. Carlos was Awesome!!! He spent plenty of time going through all the available units to pick the purrfect unit. When we got our first delivery we found out that it was too small so Carlos got us a second unit. We had problems with the roll up door. Carlos had it fixed ASAP with no complaints! The place is clean, well lighted and no insects or rodents. They must have fat and happy cats sleeping somewhere. This place is night and day better in customer service and feeling safe over the orange place in El Cajon. read more

I've rented a space from this facility for almost 5 years and was recently affected financially by COVID-19. I called my location to ask for a temporary reduction in the monthly rental fee which has skyrocketed over 50% during the past 4 1/2 years (I now pay $1.84 a square foot per month for a storage unit as compared to $2.14 a square foot per month for a 3 bedroom apartment with tons of amenities). I was told they'd check with corporate and get back to me soon. I waited for two weeks but did not receive a call back so I followed up. Corporate's final decision was to temporarily wave late fees and to delay removing my content from the unit for non payment but they absolutely would NOT temporarily reduce the monthly lease fee. I read about many large companies stepping up to help their customers during this historically difficult time for the people in our country. Extra Space Storage is not one of them. I'm very disappointed with this company and I will make it a mission to tell my story to the community I live in. read more

WORST STORAGE EVER! I wasn't told I had to give proof of my renters insurance to the facility so they charged me more then $30 a month extra to cover my small storage space for months. Also, they wouldn't reimburse me once I showed them proof of coverage. Then they had the nerve to tell me they are raising rent $10 a month for a small storage. This place is taboo. I had a unit here for 3 years and never had any issues. I was always notified in a timely manner of there was any changes in the rates, new doors or anything else they planned on doing. There have been numerous clerical errors resulting in me being locked out of my own storage space again and again. Needed storage for my things till i am able to move to my permanent apt up in ramona. The staff here is very friendly and informative. The area looks safe and the manager lives in the area and can be there if there is an emergency. This place is expensive though. Rented a 10x10 at $200 which includes a mandatory insurance. Friendly staff. Expensive rates that increase substantially after about 8 months. Mandatory insurance unless you prove you have your own. I followed the staff's instructions on how to provide proof of insurance through your provider (USAA) but they claimed to not receive it. I had USAA attempt to send the proof via email and fax 3 times but they said they didn't get it. Meanwhile I was across the states training... When I got back i brought the proof of insurance in stating I had the insurance the entire time but they would not refund me any of it. I took my business elsewhere. read more

The management isn't bad, but nothing spectacular. I've had my unit for less than a year and have experienced 2 big increases in rent and was paying more than double when I decided to move my things. The increase notices would state it was for insurance which should really be determined on the value of the items stored, which for mine would be minimal.
