The worst! Nadia, neglected to send me the Closing Disclosure (CD) until the day before the scheduled close at 8:33pm. The problem with that is that Federal law requires a waiting period of at least three (3) business days before the loan is allowed to close. This meant that it was legally impossible for us to close on-time, which meant that we had to beg the seller to extend the contract, otherwise we would have done all of the work it takes to buy a home, which is A LOT, for nothing and we would have had to start all over again. The seller was under no obligation to do so and completely ignored our repeated requests. This incident left us homeless with 2 pets because we had just moved all the way across the country with our stuff, reasonably expecting that we would close on-time. Praise the Lord that the seller finally agreed to extend the close date and that our realtor paid for our hotel while things were sorted-out (apparently he failed to keep tabs on that too, because it has never happened to him before, but he did right by us to make up for his mistake). In spite of everything we were going through, Nadia never once said that she was sorry or even pretended like she was. I even asked her, "You don't even seem at all sorry that we might lose this home and that we'll now be homeless with our pets, even though it's 100% your mistake that put us in this spot...are you at all sorry?" Silence. My wife and I looked at each other in complete disbelief that somebody could be so heartless. We had been extremely responsive to ALL of their requests from the very beginning, just to make sure that they were NEVER waiting for anything from us. I even emailed our lender, Jason, a week before closing, to make sure that we were good to close on-time and somehow they still screwed it up. You would think that he'd be apologetic about it and/or hold her accountable for such a major mistake, but nope! He was just as rude and arrogant as she was. This was one of the most stressful situations I've ever experienced in my entire life. The good news is that I know that my wife really loves me because she saw me at my worst that week and yet had my back all the way. How they can treat anyone like this, especially a veteran (which they apparently "specialize" in serving them), was shameful. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. I wish I could give them zero or negative stars. read more

They changed their VA construction loan to half of what they approved me for this week of 5/26/22, I received an email letting me know they could not go through with the construction loan due to a change concerning the cost. This is what was sent to me via email "I am writing to deliver news about a very recent change in all of our One Time Close Construction program. Earlier this week our company made a decision to limit the loan amounts of all construction loans to $647,200, which means we cannot lend more than this amount on a construction loan program. I am sorry, as I know this news will likely impact your build process. I do not have a referral or source I can send you to get a VA Construction loan that is also a high balance. Our purchase programs still allow a loan amount of up to $1,500,000 but not our construction loans. Again, I am sorry to deliver this news." This is all after I was approved, and my builder contract was finalized, and I spoke with the head loan officer. Imagine if you go through all the trouble to fill out the mortgage application and get approved then hey, guess what guy we said we would lend you x amount but now we can't and we don't have any option for you other than call us back and we can do a permanent loan for the amount. This is of course after interest rates rise. I'm absolutely disgusted with this whole situation and now I must find another lender and jump through hoops and fill out another mortgage application to get my build started with a mortgage company that can follow through. read more

EXTREMELY POOR experience. I would give them a zero if possible. Here is why: 5 weeks into the process and AFTER I had paid for an 800$ appraisal, these people denied the loan based solely on the distance of the property to my work. Stating "They are not comfortable with the distance under any circumstance." - meaning they refused to even list it as a secondary home. There was literally no issue with my financial piece. They knew the locations from the beginning. After 4 submissions to underwriting with many hoops to jump, FIVE WEEKS IN, and several thousand dollars into the process, they told me this. Forcing me to scramble to find another lender. My loan officer was Jason Noble and the processor was Justing Ogren. I WOULD NOT recommend this company unless you want to waste your time and money. Absolutely awful. (Happily, I did find a great lender who had my loan cleared to close in 4 weeks, with zero hoops no less.) read more

So, I have been in contact with a guy named Edward Oueilhe. At first, he was good with the communication. He would call or email me to ask for everything he needed. I've given him everything he has asked for. Two weeks later, I can't reach him. If I call or email, I wouldn't get a response until 3 or 4 days later. The only reason I decided to use him is because he is in my home city and I trust my city.. Case un point, he emailed me, a 4 days after I emailed and called, and I responded quickly, actually right back.. Do you think I got a response? Hell no. Then when he responds, I have to resubmit the same info I just submit to him he acknowledged he recieved!!!!. Since this is how they do business, I will take my business elsewhere. There are plenty VA lenders out there that will communicate with there customers timely, and keep them up to date on there loan situation.. read more

THANK GOD FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS/VETERENS BEWARE! These people are very nice and cordial at first. But then when there are problems they try and put blame on you. It took 4 months for them to tell us we were denied the loan. Cost us an extra $500 for a 2nd appraisal which they could have the 1st revised. And the 2nd appraiser told us he had diificult time getting the information he needed from them. They were going to make us have to refinance after paying 6 months of notes after the house was built to get a good rate, which we thought was common practice until we got with the mortgage company. Also they told us that any monies not used by our builder does not automatically get applied to the loan and we would have to work something out with the builder. Also not true. After the house is complete our mortgage company will automatically modify the loan and any monies not used by the builder will be deducted from the loan balance at that time. Our current lender had the same information these people had and with in (3) weeks we had approval and went to closing on the loan. THere is a lot more I could write on this but I think this is more than enough read more

I spoke to Willie today who was ever so pleasant when we began speaking. But as soon as I mentioned that I was interested in the down payment assistance program things went downhill from there. I told him that I was working with a lender already and considering switching to Security Mortgage since they are the lender for property I was interested in. Explained to him my situations and he repeatedly cut me off downplaying the entire down payment assistance program and basically telling me how it was useless. He then told me that he could get me into a down payment assistance program that would give me a 4.25% interest rate with $10,000 in assistance but that none of the assistance money would go towards the down payment, that it would go towards lender fees, an upfront lump sum of mortgage insurance, and an upfront lump sum of the taxes for the property. I then started to ask him questions to get a better understanding of what he was telling me and he flat out told me that I was better off staying with the lender I was with and that he had another call to answer. I was outdone!! It's already frustrating enough and physically, emotionally, and mentally draining going through the house buying process, but to have to deal with this kind of rudeness, unhelpfulness, poor customer service, a person with no care whatsoever for what you're going through, makes matters a whole lot worse! Willie seems to be after the quick money and anything else that is a hassle or if you don't have your down payment money ready to roll, he doesn't have time to deal with you. I can't speak for the company as a whole, but I would NEVER recommend anyone to choose Willie to assist based on this experience. Which makes Security American look horrible as a whole in my opinion, therefore I would never recommend anyone to seek their services in the house buying process. read more
