Unfortunately I can't give zero stars, or I would. We purchased a used truck from Security Dodge in mid-September, a Ram 1500 and it has been nothing but an absolute nightmare ever since. The showroom and attentive sales people were the absolute epitome of "smoke and mirrors" to this pathetic dealership. The truck showed major electrical problems within days of leaving the dealership -- issues that should have been caught during any basic dealer intake inspection. The truck has now been stuck in there service department for over three weeks (and counting), and I've received zero transparency, zero communication, zero calls back /accountability, and zero urgency from anyone there. Additionally, despite the vehicle being with there service department for weeks, they refused to provide a loaner vehicle. Only after I physically went down to the dealership in person did they mention a possible a partial (unsubstantiated to date) reimbursement for the rental I was forced to get out of my own pocket. Even that possible restitution came extremely begrudging and without reimbursable specifications. Throughout this entire ordeal, I've been given multiple completion dates that have all come and gone, with no proactive communication whatsoever. I've been calling every single day, and each time I'm told "someone will call you back" -- but they never do. Half the time, they can't even tell me the current status of my truck. I must also include that I was forewarned prior to purchasing here that this dealership was known for its awful customer service and overall poor customer satisfaction. Lesson learned! One of the Worst Dealership Experiences I've Ever Had I bought a used Ram 1500 from Security Dodge in mid-September, and the experience has been an absolute nightmare from the start. What looked like a professional, polished sales operation turned out to be nothing but empty promises once the deal was signed. Within days of driving off the lot, the truck showed major electrical issues -- the kind of problems that should have been caught long before it was ever put up for sale or delivered to a customer. Even basic things weren't handled properly: the navigation system wasn't calibrated, the entire truck reeked of cigarette smoke, and I was told that would be taken care of before pickup. None of it was. The truck has now been stuck in their service department for over three weeks, with no clear updates, no accountability, and no one returning calls. I've been promised completion dates that come and go without a word. Every time I call, I'm told someone will get back to me -- they never do. Adding insult to injury, the dealership refused to provide a loaner during this entire ordeal, leaving me to rent a car out of pocket. My Grand Cherokee purchases from this location is year old and is not holding windshield washer fluid which is covered under warranty. I can not see out of the front windshield or back windshield because of the all the salt and sand on the roadways, they won't even LOOK at your car to diagnose it for 24-48 hours after your DROP it off and do not have loaner vehicles available for 60 days. So I guess I'll just hang out of the side of my of car with the window open a Windex bottle on the Wantagh State Parkway. Their customers safety is obviously their top concern. This place get fcked. First review ever for me. Waited 3 weeks for an appointment, drove there the night before and filled out all the paperwork. Recieved a text stating they would begin work 7:30am the following day. Called around noon and after waiting on hold for too long and getting hung up on 2x (they just pickup and hang up quickly) after listening to the hold sales pitch on repeat, I left a message with a receptionist, said I would hear back between 4:30-5. i called back at 5:15 and finally spoke with Christine and she said they hooked it up to their system and it showed no faults, they then drove it and didn't notice anything (impossible), then said they want to check it for system updates. Fine one more day. Called for an update at 3pm, she's in a meeting and would call me back, nope I'll be there to pick it up in an hour. They had to remove but a few plastic parts to get to the bulb, then reinstall same after replacing the bulb, and this warranted $150+ for labor? I purchased a car from this dealership end of March 2023. It should be noted that between the car purchased & my writing of this review, the car while in my possession, has gained less than 5k miles; so it's been less than 1 full year & a very minimal amount of driving. In addition, I originate in Westchester so several dealerships to choose from between here & there, yet I chose one, a 3+ hr train ride from my house. December of 2023 my Certified PreOwned vehicle went into the shop to fix the fuel pump & rear differental. I contacted the selling dealership, & the gentlemen that I spoke with informed me that they couldn't assist me but I should contact Customer Service to request a goodwill credit, as the fuel pump wasn't covered under my CPO Warranty. That fix took roughly 3 weeks & cost a little over $2400. I received the car back at the end of December, still sensing that something was off by the way it started, but was assured it was 'normal' by the dealership. By the 2nd week of January,  the car needed to go into the shop again because it would not start. I took it back to the dealership I got it fixed, thinking the issues were connected to what they just fixed, but as it turns out, the starter went bad. So the updated fixture was a starter replacement & 2 batteries, totaling $2500. It being January of 2024, the car has already entered the shop for 3 major issues (4 if you include that fact that both batteries needed to be replaced as well). Of course I, again, contact the dealership I purchased the car from to speak to someone about this, which included my sales person Catherine Mercado. She tells me what I already know, which is that the fixture is not covered under my CPO and that IF I were anyone were to help me at the dealership, it would be Anthony Capanelli (I should note that she claimed to not know his last name but his name and photo are posted on the website & he is the Manager of used car sales, which she said is the title of the person I would be looking to speak with). Since January 16th, I have called 9 times, I've been transferred to everyone except a used car manager. I've left several voice messages and at a point was told that I would get a call back from Micheal, a different manager. To date, I have not received not a call back from either of the people I was told would call me back. I even spoke to Paul, a manager in a different department, on two separate occasions; one in which he confirmed Anthony Capanelli would be the person to speak to and other asking him to ask Anthony to call me back. I've even sent Catherine Mercado a text message asking her to ask Anthony, again, to call me back, which received no reply. Oddly enough, when I purchased the car, they were having a promo that reduced the purchasing price for 'loyalty customers' (i.e, if you've purchased from them before) and this seems to be the service they would like people to be loyal to. To have to call on a consistent basis and not even recieve the courtesy of a call back is frustrating. This dealership does not stand behind the products that they sell at all. Even the service department sucks. You make an appointment for an oil change, arrive at your appointment time & you still wait for no less than 3 hours and there is no one to even offer a 'sorry for the wait'. I get that my current car situation is atypical but with the length of time, the miles driven, and the presented issues, I would've thought someone would've had decency to be courteous. All in all, I will 1000% never be back to this dealership and will advise all that I know to steer clear. read more

Definitely the worst car buying experience I've ever had. Came in one day looking for a Durango and they didn't have any in the style I wanted. I talked to a salesman who tried to get me to look at other models. I had some time to kill so we sat down and we talked numbers. After going back and forth with his manager we agreed on a price. It was a car for my wife so I couldn't say I'd buy it right then but said I'd come the next day for the paperwork as long as it's good with my wife. Salesman said great and to call him for an appointment. So I called after my wife gave the green light. We met early in the morning and I could tell something was up because it took about 20 mins for the salesman to talk to me after walking by numerous times. He shoots a price that was higher than we agreed upon and then said okay to the price we got to the prior day. He went to his manager (John Sciortino) and they both came back but of course the Sciortino said they can't do the deal. I explained that they were the ones who offered me the price the other day and he said that's not possible. Yes calling a customer a liar is great business practice. Then the salesman I was dealing with said that the other manager said they'd be able to do the lower price. Dirtbag manager then says the other manager must've got the numbers wrong and started blaming the salesman. He said he can't go lower than a couple thousand more than what they originally offered. Manager than just goes on a rant about how you can't believe anything a salesman says unless a manager signs his name next to it...... then what's the point of making a deal with a salesman if it doesn't even mean anything. Very shady business and doesn't surprise me with what these other reviews have to say. If i could give them 0 I would. My car was on the lot for warranty service for almost a month. Nothing done and I had to pay over $300 for daignostics. I sent them my warranty paperwork and they said drop the car off - it looks like its covered since its a lifetime warranty. They commented "great warranty" . The 1st week, I kept getting the run around. "We contacted them but they haven't answered". The 2nd week - more or less the same. Except, "it may not be covered but let me see what we can do". The 3rd week (after repeated calls with NO answer) "we're waiting on their reply". FINALLY. "Sorry, it isnt covered and the time the technicians took to look at what was wrong will be $299. If you pay cash, it's cheaper". WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F?? NO ONE said I would have to pay that and the diagnostic work up was not included in my "great" lifetime warranty - which would have been $100. They wanted close to $1300 to pay for coroded wires around the harness. For wires. I am fuming at their lack of respect for their customers and the blatant disregard to communication despite my daily calls. The front desk ladies are dolls and I feel bad that they get repeated calls of complaints. I purchased a vehicle here years ago but would have never expected this type of terrible service afterwards. I make an appointment to get the car worked on be Security, as they are very close to where we live. They kept my car for SIX WEEKS. I called every couple of days after the first two weeks to find status and they constantly said "we'll call you back in a day with an update" and they NEVER CALLED ME BACK. By the time they actually looked at my car it had sat on their lot so long the battery died. Then they wanted me to pay for a new one! Now, i am a light driver but that doesn't mean i don't need a car. Not to mention, i was paying my car payments still. And they didn't give me a loaner. I finally got my car back. The night before they call me to let me know they have a loaner for me. So i pack up my children, drive there, my husband takes them home. I drive back. Less than twenty four hours later they have me coming back to pick up my car. Wtf do you people think i want a loaner for, for 16 hours? I had to post on their Facebook page about their terrible customer service to get a call back. They offered me a free oil change. HARD PASS. BUYER BEWARE *FALSE ADVERTISEMENT *AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE *RUDE & INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES *LIES & "MOCK" CONTRACTS *ABUSIVE MANAGEMENT TO EMPLOYEE We went to look at a truck advertised for $52,500 one Friday evening at SECURITY DODGE. After a quick chat with the salesman he advised us of an "un-loyal fee" of $2000 that would be added to the 52k because we never bought from them. We were not comfortable with this fee and we left. The following day we decided to stop back in an attempt to negotiate the fee and get a quote on a trade-in. After sometime we decided to proceed with trade and purchase, and was told we can have the vehicle in about "an hour and a half". This 90 minutes turned into SEVEN-plus hours. These long torturous hours we witnessed the famous "Michelle" from their commercials being belittled and humiliated with a hot tempered young man, Micheal. Apparently he is management and an owner's relative. This gives him NO right to scream and curse at this only positive asset this dealership has. It was a very crowded area in which he spoke to her, and if I had small children I would have left. Sadly, it unfazed her, I hope this isn't usual activity. We were kept being told that we "were next" and if we left for food or drink we would "lose our place in line". At just about closing time, we were called into the finance office and this unscrupulous interaction was almost a deal breaker for us. The stressed out, angry man was incredibly unprofessional in his language, delivery, and mannerisms. From making a "mock contract", talking down to our salesman, pointing at my hungry and tired wife for not having the title in hand, and just overall an arrogant individual. My wife had to remove herself from his office because of his improper behavior and wait outside. When we told Tom that we would pay the balance of the trade and cost of the truck in cash, he told us he would add $5,000 to the price for not financing with them. And a $2.700 fee for early payoff. When we were finally done we were escorted to our new truck. This exciting moment was overshadowed with the grime and dirt that covered this vehicle;leaves in the bed and back rug, windows filthy, dust all over the dashboard area, leather was not cleaned, and the truck was not washed but carelessly rinsed off. What a total disappointment but added to our frustration because of our exceptionally long wait. We drove about an hour to our home only to be pulled over by the police that there was no license plate in the front. The shock that this dealership could be so negligent. We had to back the following day to get it. The lies and awful service continued... We had to get a simple door ding removed and was promised a thorough detailing at that point. We were originally told that the autobody specialist was there everyday and it would take only 45 minutes. This mere hour were were promised,became EIGHT days. No rental, no compensation, not even an excuse, and not one apology. My family has leased and purchased at least 25 cars since I have been driving. This was the utmost horrendous experience. When I saw the car, it was dirty just from being outside and I asked if it could please be thoroughly washed and the inside cleaned and wiped out properly (ya know - COVID !!) ... when I came to pick it up, it was just as filthy and there was literally trash stuffed into the glove box (found that when I got home) as well as missing mats which I had to go back for .... obviously, no one even looked at the car before delivery. The financing manager made us wait for over a half hour with no one in his office and was discussing a birthday cake with other employees in his office as several people sat outside waiting to sign and drive. Ridiculous. When I asked him very nicely, "can you please get my file going, I have to get home and get back to work" he snapped back very snarky, "it's Monday and mondays are busy. You can leave and come back another time if that works". Asshole, total asshole. Then I finally get in and I'm am totally hosed for additional BS charges that no one told me about. The women who answer the phone in the service department are extremely rude and unprofessional. They have zero customer service abilities and are destroying the reputation of this company. They have no concern for the needs of the customer, and are beyond disrespectful and rude on the phone. We have purchased multiple vehicles from here over the years because AJ the salesman is awesome and helpful. However, whenever we have needed to service the vehicles, there are always issues with the last episode being the "straw that broke the camels back!" What is the point of getting a car at a place where you are treated like trash when you need service. Our recent experience involved needing to bring our truck for replacement of the passenger airbag for a no drive recall, which we received multiple letters and calls from recall company saying how dangerous it was to drive truck and how recall needed to be done right away. The recall letter also said that a loaner car would be provided and truck would get picked up from our house because it was not safe to drive. We knew that would not happen based on previous experience of never being given a loaner car from this service department. Upon calling the service department, the extremely unprofessional women who answer the phone and make appointments told me nothing was available for 2 months. I explained exactly what the appointment was for and the urgency and she again stated that was only appointment. When we Finally brought the truck 2 Months later, they had it the whole day only to tell us the part needed for the recall would have to be ordered and it couldn't be fixed. We were told to pick it up and not given a loaner even though it was a NO DRIVE recall. It took another month for the part to finally come in and when we spoke to one of the mechanics in the service department, he said the part would be in at end of week and when it came in we should bring truck right away and wait for it to be fixed because it would only take an hour. However, when part came in and I was transferred to service department to make appointment, I once again had to deal with the extremely rude and unprofessional women who refused to let us bring truck right in as the mechanic had told us to do and refused to let me speak to a mechanic and Instead shouted that we were scheduled for an appointment the following week and slammed the phone down hanging up on me! Needless to say we had recall company call around and find us a place that had the part and we brought it to the dealership they found to be fixed a few days later. We suggest NEVER to purchase a vehicle at Security Dodge in Amityville because once you get the car, it will be a nightmare to ever get serviced and you will be treated like trash whenever you need to call to schedule anything. Worst service dept ever. They make you make an appt to bring your car in when somethings wrong, then for DAYS they tell you they haven't had time to look at it, and won't give you a loaner to use. Last Jeep I'm ever going to have! Time to find my next car. read more

I called them on Monday (9/30) when my car was overheating for service. I had to pull into a gas station and I gave them a call. The girl who answered the service phone let me explain what was happening then mater-of-factly told me that the next available appointment was December 15. Yes, DECEMBER 15. After checking to make sure I heard her correctly, I said, my car is overheating NOW, not 2 1/2 months from now. She then said I could drop the car off and leave it and maybe they can look at it "in a week or two". Oh and they didn't have any available loaners, just like the last time they did service on my car. In all fairness, I did get a good deal on a well maintained car. That's not my issue. My issue is with the service department. I am telling anyone who will listen to PLEASE don't fall for the extended warrantee (that they add on without telling you - btw). You will wind up paying your own personal mechanic to do the work anyway. read more

I leased my car through Security. It was a smooth process and have always told other people to go to them. I recently bought my car out and was looking to get an extended warranty. I have call 4+ times and have either left a voicemail or spoke with a employee... and no one has ever reached out. Additionally, my spare tire did not come with the key and lug kit- when I called to tell them they were accusing me of misplacing or lying. Their customer service has gone down hill and I wouldn't recommend getting your new car there since they will never call you back/help with anything. read more
