They sent some young woman out to my house that wanted my security code and asked for it infront of my neighbors. She was a very immature young woman that was insecure about everything including going throughout the back yard and around the house very awkward the whole 5 minutes she was here. Before engaging me in any conversation didn't ring my door bell or knock just text me and in fact was 1 hour late to our appointment. Then after 5 minutes of conversation I decided to end our meeting as she wanted to get a friend to comeback with her. Not sure why. I later called management about how unprofessional the experience was and that if the simple task of greeting some and being discreet about passcodes was to much for their sales staff maybe their service would be just as tacky and from the look at the reviews with overpriced trashy product and service walking away looks to have been a good choice for me. Started out great. Very responsive on the phone. I explained in detail what I needed in an email. Came out and looked at my storage yard. Then wrote me up a proposal and expensive estimate for something I didn't ask for. When I asked them about what I was requesting they said they'd look into it. I never heard back. Called three months later, receptionist sent me to someone's VM and never heard back. Seems they are only interested in selling me what they want me to have, not what I need. I had a series of security camera installs to do at a couple of local retail outlets. We had monster do the first two.We have a semi complicated network setup that involves a few PF boxes and IPSec tunnels from each of our locations. It's all AD enabled. I knew when they asked for the admin login to our router that things were not going to go well. They could not understand why I would not give them that information. And then they were reluctant to tell me what ports they needed and why. I got the exact same hardware and software for the remaining locations at less than half of what they charged us. Installed it in less time with more attention to detail, and I was able to configure the features we wanted that their techs were unable to provide. Including a very snazzy AD enabled mobile app. Saved over 50% and got a much better finished product when I installed myself. Monster is a complete ripoff. The software vendor was reluctant to sell me the software as they had an exclusive retail deal with Monster. I told them I had worked with Monster and I was unhappy with the results. The vendor got a hold of Monster and Monster gave me a few nasty phone calls trying to tell me what I was doing was not secure and I would regret it and call them to finish the job. 2 years later and my installs have proven to much more reliable. Harbor Freight has a Chinese CCTV DVR kit that would work better than anything they do. After calling both contact and business numbers for "Diversified Electronics" and getting nowhere since both numbers were no longer in service, i contacted "Security Monster". I was immediately transferred to a technician names "Jared" that was able to trouble-shoot that i had a clog in my central vac line rather than a malfunctioning hose switch thus saving me time and additional cost of replacing the hose. I am very satisfied and would gladly give them my business and recommendation. read more

I needed to have internal surveillance for our home, and knew that cameras bought over the internet or at Best Buy would not be sufficient. I received the best customer service from start to finish. The cameras are unobtrusive, and better yet I can access them from my phone and in the home, later downloading certain time frames if I need to. HINT: I read Alec's negative review before this. DON'T even THINK about buying cameras and trying to "do it yourself" if the security of your home or business are at stake. Most of us are not TECHS and need exactly what Monster security delivers: tech support and a system that has the internal back up connected to our modems. My go to guy was Eric--but the two techs were equally helpful, and this involved some wire run through with my attic. Everything was handled with precision and clean up. I also have tech back up when I need it. After my experience, I believe that this is the kind of security most people need---what is sold over the counter may be what they THINK they are getting---but not what they NEED. I have done business multiple times with this company. High quality products, high quality customer service. The owner, sales rep, and techs actually LISTEN to what the customer wants and they make it work. I wouldn't even consider doing business elsewhere. I can check my cameras at my retail location from my smart phone, a reassuring peace of mind when I am away. The police were also able to positively identify a car thief from images that came from our cameras, that Security Monster just installed 3 months ago. Witnessed them instal a system at my place of work a awhile back. Great guys, sales rep (Steve?) was very cool. Fast, efficient, and top notch work. An electrician buddy looked at it after they were done and was very impressed. He just kept saying "Clean, very clean". I guess that was his way of a compliment. Any way, the after care (customer service) for us guys that don't like to read the manuals they left behind was/is phenomenal. Highest possible recommendations. Customer Service as it Should Be! I needed to have a part to my central vac system serviced and looked at my options. I set an appointment with them to be sure a technician would be in the office. I arrived and was introduced to Andrew who I explained the problem to and he quickly asked an associate (can't remember if I got his name) to take a look. A quick look and the part was now working but may need to be replaced in the near future due to age. A price quote was given where I'll be sure that this business is also headed their way. I called this company to come out to get my alarm and in Home vacuum system working. They were able to schedule me the same week on Friday to come out and quoted me their hourly prices. Friday rolls around and they call to cancel stating their technician had an emergency and needed to go to the ER and they will call me next week to reschedule, no big deal things happen I completely understand. Next week rolls around and by Wednesday I still have not received a call to reschedule, I call in and they take down my info and state someone will call me back. Friday rolls around and still no one has contacted me I call again and they say they can schedule someone in 2 weeks; not ideal but fine I'll take what I can get. When the technicians show up there is 2 of them, I don't think anything of this, they stated they only were informed to check vacuum system not alarm but they would be happy to check it out for me. They proceed to spend 30 minutes checking out everything. They determine I would need to order some parts to get things up to working order. They let me know that they will have the info sent over however if I don't hear from them by Wednesday, this was a Monday, to give their office a call. They then hand me an invoice where they have charged per hour as quoted however it's per technician per hour. I'm slightly annoyed at this point as I was not informed of this per technician at all, but whatever the technicians were very nice and the bill is only $120 so whatever, however it would have been nice to have been informed they send two technicians out from the beginning as that DOUBLES any time you are paying for. Also do they always send two technicians? I would assume their logic is that two people will get it done in half the time, but I watched them work and really only one technician did 85% of it. I call them on Wednesday at the end of the day since I had not received anything from them and they did not have any info for me and they let me know they will have someone call me back. 20 minutes later I get a call from an employee they have me explain everything again, I'm just trying to get quotes on the products we need to order so I can determine what we want to do from there, the employee is trying to get me to let her come to the house again to talk about upgrading my alarm system, yeah no thanks I don't need to pay for more hours of them being here to sell me on a new alarm when the one I have works fine and just needs some batteries and a code reset. I let her know I'm only interested in getting quotes on parts for alarm and in Home vacuum system, she informs me that she will have something emailed over by Friday. Today is the following Thursday I still have not received anything from them, I even called them on Tuesday and left a voicemail during working hours and have no heard anything. I just want them to give me the quotes so I can go from there. I still want to use this company since I was extremely happy with the technicians they were so helpful and explained everything to me A-Z but the office staff is sub par and is making this experience miserable. I am writing this review in the hopes that someone will actually contact me back and then hopefully update my review to more stars in the future. I'm new to the Eugene area and am really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it seems they are having issues with their office, but I would really appreciate them just keeping to their word and contacting me back. I will try calling them again today when they open and hopefully can get some sort of help. read more
