I just closed on a home that included a home warranty. I contacted the warranty company yesterday to schedule a locksmith and they set up a service request for me. They automatically went with this company and sent the request to them. Within half an hour I was contacted for my availability, and once I provided it they scheduled it immediately. They came out this afternoon and did the locks for three doors, six locks total which is the max the warranty covers. Our locksmith's name was Alex and he was super friendly. He arrived on time and was polite from start to finish. He explained the whole process to me and told me how the old locks worked and how the new ones will work since they were built differently. He took his time with his work but still got it done faster than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. He made sure I tested the new locks with the new keys so I could be sure everything was all good, and it was. I had a great experience with this company from start to finish. The scheduling was painless and fast and the technician arrived within the estimated window. I was also notified when he was on his way and I was able to track his progress so I could tell when he would arrive. I'm not sure why other people had bad experiences in the past, but my experience was nothing short of perfect. I would certainly recommend these folks, Alex in particular, to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly locksmith. read more

I took 4 hours of paid time off from work to accommodate their busy schedule. A locksmith never arrived to rekey my locks. No work was performed, and no one answered the phone when I called before, during, and after the scheduled time. Edit: the agreement was the locksmith would arrive between 10:00 am and 11:30am (see screenshot). When 11:30 hit, I called their phone number to ask if the locksmith would arrive soon, and if I should stay past the appointment window. There was no answer. In fact, I still have not gotten any call-back from the multiple voicemails I left three days ago. I understand that things happen, and something appointments need to be rescheduled or delayed, but communication is an important part of making that happen. You cannot expect a customer to remain past an agreed upon window if you do not contact them to extend it. read more

At first I thought I had great service, sadly I was wrong. The work of re-keying the locks on the house I moved into wasn't done correctly. I paid the money through the home warranty and then I was told I had to pay them more money separately. I have had trouble with the locks and I have left 2 voicemails and texted. They have yet to call me back. No reaponse at all! I intend to move on to the Warranty Company. What a joke this company is. A small business asking for reviews then they leave a customer hanging and change over what the warranty is already paying them. Do not waste your time with these guys! If I would ever treat one of me clients this way I would be fired immediately. read more

I put in a work order through First American Home Warrantee to have my locks changed on my new house as they say they do on all their warrantees. I called in the order on January 24th, today is February 6th and still no one called to schedule an appointment. They said a contractor would call me to schedule the work. I waited a couple days, no one called me back. I called C&D and the man said they were 3 hours from where I live (there are probably 100 locksmiths between Medford and Springfield), that they were the only locksmith First American uses for the ENTIRE state of Oregon. He said he would call back to schedule a time. He did not, so I call D&C again and got a recording. Then I tried two more times I got a recording. I then called First American and they said they would look into. After a week they had not gotten back to me. When I called their customer service, the agent put me on hold to call C&D. The agent came back and said that C&D said I did not follow up when they said they would call me back, and I tried calling 3 other times. The man told the agent it was me who did not follow up. When David arrived to do the work, he was pleasant, professional and did a good job for me. I would not do business with C&D Lock and Security if they are move than an hour from your home/business. If an area is too far for them to service, they should not contract with the warrantee company for that area. read more

C&D was a contractor assigned to me by my home warranty provider. Terrible customer service and communication. They assigned me a date & time for my appointment (via text) without even speaking to me. Then Dairian followed up with a text that today was the best day for one of the employees to come to my house because "...we will be up in the area that day". I relented and said I would accommodate their schedule & take time off from work so I could be here at the assigned time today. I texted Dairian hours before to the appt window to confirm I'd be home & to let me know if there were any updates. No response. An hour & 40 minutes into the 2 hour service call window, no one from C&D had shown up or contacted me. I called C&D & no one answered. I left a message. Then I called my warranty company and they were able to contact Dairian. He thought the appt was for tomorrow, but had reported today's date to both me & my warranty company. People make mistakes; I get it. I called C&D to ensure that they would not show up tomorrow. I reached David. He was nice enough, but when I explained what had happened & why I was calling, no apology for the inconvenience or error on C&D's part. I've never received a response from Dairian from either my text from earlier today or my voicemail. Mistakes happen. It's how they are handled that really has an impact. Hopefully they'll step up their game for their future customers. UPDATE: Received a text from David about the situation. I really appreciated the message & his professionalism. Recently moved to a new house and as part of the sale had a First American Home Warranty with the purchase. Needed the locks rekeyed. C&D was assigned to perform the service. I called to set up an appointment and got a message they were busy and would call back. Still waiting for that call back to any one of my 3 voicemails. I also received an email from First American asking for my availability which I provided. No response. First American tried to contact them without success. Going to look for my own locksmith. Like others, I first came in contact with C&D via Landmark Home Warranty. They refuse to answer questions, give different hourly rates on their website than over text message, and are generally rude. I can't speak to their locksmithing quality itself, but I'd highly recommend staying away, as even the most basic questions appear to be too much for these people to handle. Absolutely unacceptable. These folks were assigned by my home warranty for a rekey failed to make it out. They first didn't respond after I had confirmed an appointment with them, which was then filled by someone else. The second time I scheduled I took the afternoon off of work to be home for the appointment, and at the last minute notified me they wouldn't make it out and said they could try for the weekend--nearly three weeks after they'd been assigned. If I ever have them assigned for another service request, I plan on promptly requesting a different company. read more

C&D was contracted through Landmark Home Warranty to repair our dishwasher. That was December 2021 and it is still not working. The initial repair was made but it did not fix the issue. After multiple, unanswered calls by both myself and the warranty company, an appointment was scheduled to repair the dishwasher again. No one showed up for the appointment, no call and no response to my multiple calls and emails. Avoid this company! Terrible work and zero customer service. I first used C&D through my Landmark Home Warranty to replace locks on a new house. We did have to reschedule once, but that was no problem. They're a small outfit that cover a lot of ground. Not only was Dave thorough with the replacements with great communication throughout, he came back to help fix with other security issues. I expected paying out of pocket would be expensive but his prices were fair and the work well done. Dave's professionalism, kindness and transparency is the best. David came out and was very nice while at our house. Unfortunately, one door's lock had an issue that required a part that needed to be ordered from China. So far so good. The part supposedly arrived months later. Dairian apoligized for the delay and scheduled an appointment to put it in, even though I had offered to do it myself if they would just send the part and provide instructions. No one ever showed up for the appointment or called (I waited four hours), and my many calls and texts have been ignored since. I appreciate that people can be busy, but I think I deserve to be treated better than this. read more

I'm actually pretty unhappy about leaving a bad review. I loved David when he did my first repair; super nice and professional. I knew when he was coming, I got a few notifications, it was great! Then, he needed to return to fix his repair (fine, we knew that might happen,) and that's when things went downhill. I had to call after my appt window had started the day of the appt to find out that the part had not come in. He would call me when it did. We set the second appt, and that one was canceled the day of the appt due to the technician's health issues. Still, no problem. We set a third appt; this time, it was Darian, and he canceled that appt because the wrong part had shipped. He would call me when the right one did. A week later, and I have heard nothing since. I feel bad leaving a bad review of good people. Zero communication after the first appt, I had to call or text (and be mostly ignored) for any information. And five weeks later, my door still isn't fixed. read more

Located C&D on Yelp and went to their website which laid out their pricing in detail. I needed extensive work done on a newly purchased split level which required drilling and installing 7 dead bolt locks along with other interior installations. Cheryl promptly replied to our request for information and David assured us that the prices on the website were correct. In fact the ultimate bill was less than suggested since several locks we had purchased did not need to be rekeyed. One door needed an extra-long bolt which David rapidly obtained. He returned to install it and did not include an extra service charge. All in all a very professional interaction. read more

I don't like to write bad reviews but after reading the ones this month I had to add mine. C&D did a re-key job for me and it was very good but not with this job. My garage door spring broke on August 26th. I called the warranty company and filed a claim. They first assigned me to a company in error because after calling them they said they won't service my area. However, when I called them later and did not mention a warranty they said they did service may area. Makes you wonder? Then they assigned me to C&D Lock and Security. They did not make the first appointment and told me to send pictures and then they will order parts. I sent pictures but I never got a response. After three weeks and text and emails David came out and look at the Garage Door. I asked him about the pictures and he said his employer either lost them or never showed him the pictures. Then he said he would come the next Thursday to fix the spring. I wasted four hours but he never showed up. He said he was in Bend. His reason is that he has to response to emergencies first. He came out 9/23 and did work on the door a short time but did not fix the spring. He said he had to leave for another appointment but could can back again in a couple of weeks. The door does open in an emergency but since it has two springs and one spring is broken it should not be used because the stress will break the other one or burn out the garage door opener motor. Great experience. I contacted C&D Lock via their Yelp listing. I received a message back within a few minutes letting me know the cost to Re-key six locks. They also told me they would be in my area that day and to call if I was interested. I called and they showed up a half hour later. Great service.
