Let's start off on a positive note. In 4 years of Comcast cable internet, I must say that the up-time is very good. Only a few service outages- the big one caused by a contractor (non Comcast) yanking their fiber optic cable out of the ground near Coburg Rd years ago. OK, now the nitty-gritty close to $80 / mo for just internet service is high. But, I pay it because there are no other options that approach 50 mbps in this town. So why the two stars you might ask. Let me tell you.... tonight all I wanted to do was change out my cable modem. That amounts to giving Comcast the Serial No, and the Mac ID number of the new modem. They place it in the system, and done. I've done this before. Comcast chat this evening close to 1 hour and was passed to 4 different people. Basically, I went through the entire process twice, best I can tell. Also, hate the up-sell!... want to add this, that, and save $..... NO! Just give me decent customer support. So, 4 stars for speed, minus 1 for price, and minus 1 for inept and long technical support. Good luck. read more

I would rate it less than 1 if it was possible. After 3 international calls regarding our TV box, which would drop recorded programs, and then maybe, maybe, the next day they would return. I spent at least 3 hours with these folks. First it was a system issue (didn't fix anything), then something else (didn't fix anything), then a fix and the person was to call me back the next day (didn't happen). Supposedly, there is a next x box at the local store in Eugene, Or that I can pick up. But their phone number doesn't work. If I had an option, I would drop everything we have with Xfinity...the worst customer service that I have ever encountered, any where for any thing. read more

This company is an absolute joke. First off their "customer service" line is a "piss off their customers line". It sends you in circles, and instead of letting you speak with a rep, it hangs up on you. They keep shutting off my internet, and when I investigate, it always says that it is scheduled maintance. Here's an idea.... if you're shutting off a service that we're paying you to use, maybe NOTIFY YOUR CUSTOMERS BEFORE you leave them stuck without internet. I have work to do, and then I use my internet to relax, before going to bed. Now I can't complete what is needed, nor can I do my normal evening routine, because you, and your customer service, are amongst the worst that I've ever dealt with. What a ripoff. After years with Comcast/Xfinity and paying through the nose for mediocre bandwidth and dropouts, finally Hunter Communications became available in our area, and the fiber optic bandwidth is great (about 4x) and our bill is about 1/3 of the Xfinity. Dropping them was a real ordeal with lots of waiting and being forced to talk with people whose accents and call center background noise was a challenge, and then having to tell them repeatedly I don't want any more to do with them. Xfinity's service is still the WORST. Last month (see my last review of 12/14/24) one app would not load. After several days of waiting, it finally was fixed. Yesterday, ALL my apps failed to load. TV works perfectly. I called customer service and was promptly called back. The nice CS rep did not give me a hard time about a free appointment from a tech (I am disabled), and set up one for tomorrow afternoon. Whether the tech shows on time, or shows up at all, or shows up prepared to make the repair remains to be seen. I will report back to you about the experience. It would be nice if the tech could cure the underlying problem so that the disconnect from the internet does not reoccur in two more weeks. read more

This company suck. They quoted me $124 for my service and then charged me over $160. The customer service is absolute crap. I was passed back and forth between the internet and mobile branches 8 times. I was on the phone for over 4 hours. I am going to be finding a different provider. This has got to be the worst cable network in the world! I moved in to an apartment that offers xfinity, I bought all of the equipment and scheduled for installation. The cable guy never showed up and after five phone calls I found out that I needed to pay another hundred dollars for the installation. I paid for it and scheduled it and he still didn't show up I don't know if he ever will. It's been two weeks now and they say they can get some one here a week from now.... Well I have plenty much no other choices. Their customer service is awful. It is almost impossible to get to a person. And if my internet service isn't working, suggesting I go to their website insults my intelligence. They screw up my bill regularly, requiring a monthly call. They promise they have corrected the problem. They haven't. when you do get a person, they are professional and understanding, probably because they hear the same complaints all day long, everyday. read more

I've been an Xfinity customer for 12 years. Every 1-2 years you have to contact them to "renegotiate" your internet/cable package. The new package will invariably be $20.00 more per month, but now you don't even get to talk to a person. read more

I used to like Xfinity until recently. Charging a loyal customer a move fee, then another $10 p/mo because I don't want to do auto pay. I spent 2 hours trying to set up new service on Friday and over the weekend. I get to the new location and there is no active service when I call to activate because the guy on Friday set it up for a house that I sold 3 years ago. The robot phone system is terrible. It seems that Comcast/Xfinity and Century Link trade being good and bad guys every few years. I'm holding the Xfinity long enough to get the Century link setup then getting out! read more

I don't know how people can continue to afford this as the prices have gotten more expensive as time goes on. The service here is a joke, better plans can be offered / found online than the ones that are quoted over the phone through these people. The facility, not far from Valley River Center, is the only place to switch out a modem locally. I suppose that beats having a tech person come in or sending it via snail mail to Comcast directly. With little major ISP competitors (Time Warner, IO, etc.), Comcast wins in a landslide for those who need high speed and require the same service practically everyone else is getting. I've had occasions where spotty connection leads to outright failure for several hours to even days. Its been awhile since I've been a paying customer in the area, I can only hope that the situation has improved. read more

What a disgusting and sneaky internet service!!! My bill went from $59 -$91 without any warning! They don't email you, call you or give you any type of courtesy call, letting you know that your bill or promotion is about to change! They're nothing special, the speeds get bogged down during peak times because you're sharing with every other xfinity customer at the same time! $59 was even too much! Xfinity/Comcast hell. Imagine every time you want to watch a show, it randomly decides to give you "descriptive narration ": a move for move , action for action vocal narration with someone explaining everything that is going on.! It takes a half dozen menu steps to turn it off. I NEVER want it on, but it's getting more frequent every day. Numerous calls, ridiculous prices, horrible service. I have lost internet service a dozen times in three months. I had NO PROBLEMS for 20 years with another provider at my last location in another state, and the last 3 months with Comcast xfinity has been NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS for WAY too much money!!! I have been reading all the negative reviews? They must be from people under 30 years old. Comcast is so much better and faster then old days cable from 90's and earlier. I cannot believe this company is still in business. They advertise all these great services at great prices then you try to get them..... $120 a month for internet and not that many channels. My bill randomly went from $120 to $187 called and spoke to someone who didn't really know why that had happened... why do they not know what happened ? If they don't know who the hell does ? They also clearly have their customer service reps out of the USA it was almost impossible to hear or understand them making it very very frustrating. I also was using their weekly internet passes while I was traveling it was supposed to be $19.99 a week. They were charging me 2-3 times a week for a weekly charge and service. I called them of course they had no record of any of these charges. Ended up paying over $100 in over charges I was never refunded. This month was trying to pay my bill online and their site kept giving me communication errors and I was unable to pay trying evrry day for over 3 weeks. Finally had my service disrupted and called wherever their idiot customer service people are couldn't hardly understand this chick at all. Sounded like she was in a cave underwater. Super annoying, she also barely spoke English. She said there were all these late fees which I said I'm not paying as I've been trying to pay online for 3 weeks and being internet providers shouldn't they have a website that works ? She tries to sign me up for auto pay. Told her there's no way in hell im doing that as I already had to cancel a debit card for them over charging me. They also had a special advertised all over tv for a $5 a month Ipad. Tried to order it on their website for couple weeks that of course didn't work. Finally called their winning customer service people yet again and was told I wasn't able to get the advertised special as I didn't have enough services through them. Cable, internet and wireless services for over $200 a month didn't make me eligible for it. I can't imagine what services you would have to have and pay to be eligible for it. This company is from Hell their customer service people suck beyond any other I have ever experienced. Get a website that works and some customer service people that speak fricken English and stop ripping your customers off. Beware of this company they will find a way or many ways to rip you off and make you crazy. read more

Do not sign up with XFINTY they will change your price of your services without notice and then when you call to figure out why the customer service agents are rude and will not answer your questions. I started my internet service with XFINTY 2 years ago. The first year I got the new customer rate. Then After the first year my price jumped $10 a month without notice, but I was ok with that because I figured my new customer discount was over, mind your I never signed a new contract with them so I figured I was paying month to month and that was my price permanently. Then after the 2nd year my price jumped by $30 to $87 dollars a month (their internet service is in no way worth that price). So I call customer service to figure out why my bill was increased without my knowledge, email, or written notice to which the lady Fiona told me that was the original price for the service. After an hour long conversation with her being incredibly rude, I asked her why on earth I had been getting it cheaper the previous year. She could not answer the question and basically told me she didn't know. She also would not answer if they had entered me into a contract for that year without my knowledge or if I was paying month to month. I then asked to speak with her supervisor, she left me on hold for over 35 minutes then came back and said there was no supervisor. She then said she would have a supervisor call me, I have yet to receive a call. This company is a rip off, the internet is slow, they will randomly change your prices, and their customer service sucks. read more

If you want broadband internet in the area, Comcast is the only game in town. Their only competition is the equally-bad Qwest/CenturyLink. Comcast has done a truly beautiful job of finding the minimum qulity:price balance that people will still put up with. It's overpriced. The techs have no problem lying to you about, for example, whether or not your own modem will work. You'll be treated to frequent soliciation phone calls which push upgrades and xfinity/cable packages. Download speeds are a fraction of what they advertise. But, you'll buy Comcast packages anyway because you need the internet and they have a local monopoly. read more

Comcast is the most unethical company I've worked with. Don't give out your credit card to Xfinity sales, and keep in mind that the company thinks you have a lot of money to be using their service and will try to charge you for services you should be entitled to for free, like technical support (if you dial one). Update: recently I've had better customer service with them resolving billing problems. I would advise NOT giving out your social security number though. I gave mine out twice and was transferred twice and then asked for it again. It's probably not secure to give your social to Comcast. I've since had my identity stolen. read more

Terrible!!!!!!! One star is too many!!! After being a customer for over 12 years we finally cancelled our services today. We finally had enough! The worst costumer service I have ever experienced. After spending 10 hours trying to fix our tv (ON THE PHONE) the they scheduled a service van to come to our house this morning. We took work off in order for them to come today. THEY DID NOT SHOW!!! We called to ask what happened and they said they cancelled the appointment. They did not bother to tell us that it was cancelled, they just did. The woman I spoke to was rude and clueless. The internet/Cable TV service is excellent. It is fast and reliable. The cable interface (X-1) is also excellent. It's luxurious. If you can burn 2-3K a year living high on the electronic hog, you'll love it. You will still have to deal (over the phone) with customer "service" people when you have to install a new modem. This may take literally hours, and the ignorance and incompetence of these people will be just astonishing. They are usually nice, though. Don't be late with your payment. They extract a substantial charge if you cross a line. Don't expect to understand your bill or what you can do to save money. This will be impossible. Don't try to establish that actual cost of something. Everything is wrapped up in bundles and deals. It's easier to hire an agent. That's modern life... read more

Constant outages, the most epic pass-the-buck customer service fails I have ever seen. I have been having daily issues with my connection for 6 months.
