Well they've been very responsive to when I need an issue fixed or an upgrade on systems. Just put in a more modern system my other one was 15 or so years old as well as a new outdoor camera systems. Being it's 2025 there's convenient phone apps for both so you can access to monitor or change things from anywhere. The tech I've always used and ask for is Wendell. Although our time has ended with your company I still appreciate you calling me and trying to rectify the situation for me. So disappointing as We are a small business. Auto pay was set up and would get letters of a small increase, but we were set up with an alarm with a sticky tape attached to my sensor which fell and no longer worked. We'll fast forward checked my bill and i was paying a whopping 240 a month on a space no bigger than 600 sq feet, sensor not working due to the double stick tape fail. We started with this company 17 years ago at 68.00 and to jump to 240.00 with nothing special sad. What happened to local businesses? Heard they are ran by mainland company no ALoha!!!! This company charged us for a sticky tape problem which failed and caused a false alarm while we were both out of the home. This resulted in a police call which incurred 100 in charges to them for responding and when the company came out to investigate and reattach the loose sensor, they charged us 50$ for the service call. This charge was surprisingly and inappropriate as it was equipment failure. This happened again a few months later. Same sensor. read more

Security One is the professional company . Thanks to this security system , we could catch two burglary and prosecutor indicted them at the criminal court . Trial court had continued for about five months . Engineers testified for me at the criminal court every time until closing the court . I appreciate Security One ! This Security One place did not do their job. I payed them every month and then they overcharged me as it appeared their billing department couldn't do math and ended up sending me to collections after my attorney tried to contact them twice by email and phone without any response. During the time I had them, they refused to answer any questions regarding the use of our cameras after we reported a theft. I even sent them letters through the post office and they had them returned to me. I do not recommend this company to my worst enemy! This is a reply to business managers untrue comments. My bills were fully paid and I never had any technician calls after my initial visit. read more

National services like ADT do not service Hawaii, so I went local. Security Systems Hawaii was not in fact the first service I contacted. But their outstanding customer service and appreciation of that sense of safety won my business. Rick thoroughly completed the (free) walk-through estimate and worked diligently with me to prepare options within my budget and that still offered the level of protection I needed. The installation included training on how to arm and disarm the house, and covers parts and labor for one year. It is sad that high-touch service businesses like Security Systems Hawaii are now the exception rather than the rule, but I am glad I discovered them. Highly recommended. read more

Security One is no longer a locally owned company and is owned by Vynet Operating Group, Inc. on the mainland. All they want is your money. They claim to be "monitoring your home", however I changed all of my windows 2 months ago and no one from the company called to ask if there was a problem. So what could they have been monitoring? I also had my payments on auto pay and yet I received a past due notice because they increased my rate, without my knowledge, and now I had a balance due for two months. I authorized the balance and asked to speak to someone so I could cancel my service as I was obviously paying for "monitoring" that wasn't happening. After talking to this girl for 20 minutes, she could not really answer my question as to what they were "monitoring" and would cancel my service as I was requesting. She then told me that I would have to give 30 days notice. I asked what the 30 days notice was for since they weren't monitoring my home anyway and she replied, it's part of your contract! I started my security service when it was a local business, who was sold to Security One, who is now owned by Vynet. They only want your money, which by my own fault, they were getting despite not getting any service from them. This is the kind of thing that gives the mainland companies a bad name! We had Security One in our old home. We liked the service so much that we decided to call them back and put a system in our new home. Very reasonable prices, great product, great service. The installer was nice and explained everything about the new system. We had a couple of incidents and they were very quick to respond. Had a security system put in in the late nineties, the full package. Now we to change flooring, when we lifted up the carpet, all the wires for the system run underneath. I called Security Systems Hawaii and Dustin Kea said I could pay them to move the wires or just cut them. Dustin just got done telling me it's because it was put in in 20 years ago (not late nineties is not 20 years). So I paid then and now they want me to pay again for their shoddy workmanship. read more

Worst company ever. I called to cancel my service and was informed that there was a 3 years contract. Umm what? When I first signed up for my mom no one informed us that there was a contract, I explained to the representative that we are moving and when my mom signed no one said anything about a contract. She then told me "well it was in the terms when you signed". My mom doesn't speak English let alone read the terms. I asked her if there was a termination fee which she's replied as "no you would just have to keep paying every month for the remaining 29 months". WHY WOULD I KEEP PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT I DONT USE? I understand that apart of it was our fault for not reading the terms but isn't it their responsibility to let us know that there was a 3 years contract before we agreed to their service? Security One installed my home security system a couple years ago and I couldn't be any happier with my system, their workmanship, their service department and with their monitoring office. I have not had any problems with my alarm system yet. I have called their service department multiple times and spoke with Dustin Kea, for technical support and general questions on my alarm system and remote access. Dustin is extremely professional and knows what he is doing. All the times that I spoke with him, he has gone above and beyond to help me and is so patient in giving me detailed information. His knowledge of their products gives me peace of mind and makes me confident in Security One. I recently read a negative review from Jerry G. that mentions Dustin's name. I'm sorry Jerry, but how can you expect a company to provide a free service to you, 10-15+ years after they installed your system? It's like asking your car dealership to fix your car for free, 10-15+ years after you purchased the car from them. In any case, I am extremely happy with Dustin and Security One on the level of expertise and professionalism they continue to provide me. Purchased a home fully equiped with Security One alarm system...many false alarms in the middle of the night. Subsequently charged over $ 100. for a service call that lasted no longer than 5 minutes. No customer service response after several phone calls, emails, and a letter asking them to explain their inflated billing system. Nowhere in their contract does it state what their service charges are. Finally get a phone call nearly 3 months later to discuss the billing. Not at all impressed. Keep shopping. read more

Secuirtyone formally Security Systems Hawaii, installed our security cameras about 6 years ago and they recently replaced our dvr and router for those cameras. I cannot download footage because it reads dvr busy, so I called the 521-0092 number and asked for Dustin who I always dealt with regarding repairing or upgrading our system. I think the phone calls now go to a national call center. They would not let me speak to Dustin. They said they are not able to give me tech support or send a technician out because we need to sign a maintenance contract with them which comes out to $95 a month. I said we never had to do this before, I would call if I need a repair, and the techs always came out to fix the equipment your company installed. She said they just started this couple of months ago, she gave an excuse it is a liability for them to work on equipment without a contract. But this is your equipment your company recently installed. What if the equipment you installed is still under warranty? We have to sign a $95 a month service/maintenance contract to have you replace the warranty equipment. What a bunch of shysters. I should take shyster back. It is their business and we do not have to do business with them or refer them to other properties. It probably gives them a more steady income and profit to have a annual maintenance contract ($95 a month). They won't do a repair without a annual contract. This caught me off guard and I am very disappointed. They are the ones who installed the new dvr and software not more than couple of years ago, I should at least get some help over the phone. We have been doing business with them since we got our security surveillance system 6 years ago. We rarely have issues with our system. They are the only ones I called to do any work. They always charged us hourly for labor and parts, why do we need a annual contract with them. I just need a simple repair or maybe this issue of (dvr busy) is something that can be easily resolved over the phone, but I can't talk to a tech person because we need to be on a annual contract. This is excessive. What are they going to do for $95 a month, dust the outside of the dvr or wipe the camera covers; however, I am sure other companies do the same thing.
