On August 6, 2018, you were kind enough to install a new battery. Invoice # 218041. Yesterday we drove from Sedona to Phoenix and this morning the car would not start so we called AAA The AAA mechanic showed me that the battery contacts had corroded through so it failed completely and suddenly. The mechanic who installed it at the Sedona Service Center & Jaws Towing LLC had forgotten to put the anti-corrosion washers and also failed to put petroleum jelly on. A rookie mistake which had serious consequences. the only way to get the old battery out was to remove the whole anode as it could not be detached from the connector as it was fused solid. The AAA guy said this happens a lot in AZ when the anti-corrosion materials are not used. The battery is out of the two year warranty. I hope that you can tighten up your systems so that this does not occur to some other unfortunate motorist. The car had to be towed and it took 30 hours before it could be driven again and a bill of $395 for the battery and fix up. I will wait for your reply before writing a review. Tow truck drive from JAW TOWING left me stranded without a word. Our utility trailer broke down on the side of Hwy-89A, I left the trailer & went to run some errands while waiting for the tow truck to call upon arriving. The tow truck driver was supposed to call me when he was on his way. The driver never called, then I received a text from AAA that he had arrived, I was only 2 minutes away. But he told AAA that I wasn't there to meet him. I told the driver Hi, I was with the trailer. Driver was rude from the start & never bothered to get out of his truck. He said he saw the whole accident go down (so why did it take him 60min. to get there if he was across the street) and this wasn't my trailer that I was just using my AAA card. He never bothered to check my ID or my AAA membership. Said that taking a trailer would take too long and would be too much work. Said that the trailer was loaded. Which was a lie, all it had was a few bags of trash, a wheel barrel, a few rake's & shovels. He was just lazy. Driver said he would need to call it in to AAA and have them call me. Went back to my car because I couldn't hear with his tow truck on & driver still never got out of the truck. As I was in my car waiting for AAA to call me, the tow truck just LEFT without a word. AAA called me, went over the situation with them, he couldn't understand why they couldn't pick it up, & instead of going round and round with this incompetent company (JAWS towing), they said they would just call a different company. So since JAWS Towing has left me stranded on the side of Highway 89A with the trailer I've had plenty of time to write this review. Stick Men Towing was suppose to be out in about 60min. They were there in 20. The driver was very nice and super helpful. Told me not to worry these things happened. When AAA called me to follow up I told them JAWS TOWING was NOT AAA quality and recommend the call STICK MENS first. read more

These guys care more about money$ than actually providing a quality service- I am not saying the employees were rude, unkind, or even unprofessional. I am saying they over charge for their services. I was charged $150 out of pocket for them to come unlock my car door after I accidentally locked my key's inside. I agree with many people's reviews on here these guy's are the stereotypical mechanics/tow men/ etc.. who will probably take advantage and over charge you- that being my personal experience. i hope they change the way they do business otherwise they will just have this bad rep forever. read more

JAWS towing is provided through AAA in the Sedona area, and is unfortunately one of the only options in the area. If I had the option through AAA, I would use ANYONE ELSE. have had two extremely unpleasant experiences with this company in the past 4 months. Customer service is absolutely terrible, response time is slow (4 hours later than eta on one occasion, in which I was provided no updates) and overall attitude from driver and dispatcher were rude, disrespectful and downright nasty. The last thing anyone stranded in a stressful situation, on a dangerous two lane highway needs is to be treated disrespectfully, and talked down to. I can absolutely understand that tow truck driving, like many service industries, can be a thankless job, but it is unacceptable to treat customers with zero dignity or respect, simply because they are in a jam and have no other option but to use your services. Overall, one of the most unprofessional business cultures I have ever experienced. I recommend using JAWS only as a last resort. read more

Jaws was called to pick up my car after I was stopped by the police. When I tried to contact them (4 times and even called ADOT to try to reach them for me), they falsified a document saying I had not contacted them and they sold my car!! Yes, SOLD it. Stay away! You may have to get a AAA tow from these guys (and their tow drivers are fantastic), but do not let them work on your vehicle. Total scam artists.They wanted to charge me about $1000 for a $150 alternator and 3 hours of labor (2 if you have a lift which they do). Instead they charged me $90 for a diagnostic which I now know that they didn't run or they lied about. Turns out it was a simple battery issue and not my alternator at all. Driving from Flagstaff to Sedona, we hit a rock on 89a that punctured the sidewall of our front tire. Fortunately we were only 3 miles north of town when I pulled over. Without Cellphone service we were reliant on Briar Patch Inn to contact our insurance company to arrange for service. It took Steve from Jaws Towing 3(three) hours to respond; horrible service !!! Sedona Auto Center and their towing company Jaws has helped me out a couple of times, always competently, always with a friendly can't-help-you-enough manner. Recently though they outdid themselves. Last Spring they replaced a starter for me. A week ago that starter stopped working. Within a short time, they were out to pick up the car to tow it to their garage. They honored the warranty without a fuss, fixed it promptly and came to chauffeur me back to get the car from the garage. This is service you don't find much anymore and what a welcome change from so many businesses that have forgotten that customer relations matter. These guys know how to develop customer loyalty. I'd been having an ongoing problem with my aged Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was stalling on me when slowing or stopping and losing power while driving along the city streets. Two mechanics, including a certified Jeep mechanic, could not diagnose the problem. While I was in the Verde Valley area visiting family, it completely stopped working. It stalled a couple of times driving down a curvy road, and died completely as I turned into my destination. Sedona Service Center towed it into their shop and were finally able to diagnose that the computer in my jeep had failed. They researched several areas and found me the best deal on a new, (rebuilt) computer chip with the best price and warranty. Since the part had to be ordered from Florida, it took several days, but thanks to Dan and the crew at Sedona Service Center, my old Jeep is still hanging in there for me. read more

This is a compliment and not a complaint. AAA called Sedona Service Center to our Toyota Sienna van that broke down 3 miles south of the Y in Sedona at 11:30 on a Friday evening. We were headed to Sedona Summit resort from Phoenix. A pulley had seized, broke the timing belt and stopped the car. They arrived after an hour or so, quickly towed the car to their Yavapai St location and locked it up for the weekend. Dan the tow truck driver gave us a ride to the resort. He told us to call Monday morning after 9 am. We called at 10am and they had diagnosed the problem and ordered a timing belt /water pump kit which arrived later in the day. They gave us an estimate of $300 for the parts and $800 for labor which included testing to make sure no valves had been damaged which can happen on some cars. Tuesday they took the car apart and started fixing it. Wednesday by end of day they had fixed the car but not tested it. Thursday they road tested it, let it cool down and put it on the computer to ensure there were no further problems. Thursday evening they called to confirm we could pick the car up which we did Friday. The bill was exactly as estimated. Dan was helpful, communicative and polite all the way through, letting us know what was going on. I consider their price quite reasonable. In Minneapolis where we live I feel sure we would have paid more. This place was horrible. So my sister in law and I drove to Sedona for a wedding and we ended up over heating right when we got into town. Dan towed us to our hotel which was nice. He said he would call us the next day and tell us what is wrong with the car. Well he calls on a Saturday to tell us that the radiator needs replacing along with the thermostat. He said he wouldn't be able to get us out until Tuesday. We latered asked why the couldn't overnight the part and get it on Monday and his response was this is Arizona and the part is coming from California. I don't think he knew what overnight ment. Well.. We pay for two more nights which is not cheap and come Tuesday we get a call that they ordered the wrong part and we weren't going to leave till Wednesday. So we had to pay for another night and we were getting pretty irritated with them. So we finally decided to go and sit in their waiting area and wait for them to finish the car. They claim to be AAA certified but we never got a written estimate and they ended up charging more then 10% they originally told us it would cost. When I asked to be refunded for the extra night we had to stay due to their mistake they said they would only take 60 dollars off. I payed over 500 in food and loging and missed three days of work due to their inability to get a car fixed in a decent amount of time. Not impressed. read more

Wednesday September 25th Jaws towing "STEVE" the driver came to my house to tow my Porsche to Scottsdale dealer. He proceeded to tow my car backwords onto their truck. First of all the cable was so taught it made a mark on my back bumper. While pulling it backwords my mufflers were scrapping the bed of the truck. Then he proceede to lift the back end of the car thus slamming the front end of my car to the ground! I was horrified...Telling him not to move the car as it was touching my driveway. He did it anyway thus scrapping the entire front bumper on the ground....Cracing paint under my clear bra. Then he put 4 x 4 block of wood under the front tires. Continuint to drag the car up and then scrapping the wood on the entire underside of my car. I told him repeatedly to stop....HE DID NOT! once the car was on the truck I asked him what we are going to do about all the damage? His reply, "what damage?" I said all this and pointed to all of it. He said, " I DID NOT DO THAT." I then asked him who the owner was? His reply, "OF WHAT?" The towing company!!!! I called and talked to the owner, or I thought it was. Turned out to be the Son. He was going to talk to the driver. I left and asked the driver not to damage my car any more when he dropped it off at the dealer. Then I went to Jaws Towing and showed the son the pictures I had taken. He wanted me to Email them to him so he could show the owner. I called him the next day and he told me when I get my car back to take it to Vincee's Auto Body and they would fix it. I said thank you and told him I appreciate how he does business. After two months of my car at the dealer I returned and took it to Vince's for an estimate. It came in around $2,500 and that is when JAWS TOWING had second thoughts. They did not want to pay for the repairs. I took it to them so they could take pictures tow different times. The owner RED PERRY told me it was normal ware and tear...since his BMW has it from all the parking stops at Safeway. I asked him if he crashed his car every time he parks? As I do not do that since I know how low my car is and am very careful with it. THEY are a company that only has insurance starting out at $10,000 deductible and will not pay for the damage their company and driver caused. The owner said if they caused the damage then the driver would have to pay for it. he even asked me if the driver could pay my deductible? I said to him are you crazy? I did not cause this and thus will not go on my insurance so I can pay higher rates later. I just got in touch with RED after a week since he put my car on his lift to take more pictures. REMEMBER I had to call him. He says it is all normal damage for a car that low and he is not going to pay for anything he did not cause. And if there was any damage from the driver it is incidental! I let him know I will see him in small claims court! My Uhaul truck got stuck in a gully in the parking lot at Days Inn in western Sedona. I went across the parking lot to a big-O-tires store and asked if they had a truck to pull me out. They said they didn't but dialed a towing company (Jaws Towing) for me on their phone and let me talk to them. After telling them my predicament and where I was...Jaws Towing quoted me a $150 minimum charge just to pull my truck out of the gully. I declined to accept their service stating to them that it was too expensive. They told me that the "boss" would call me. No one ever called me. Deciding that their service was an unattractive option...I made other arrangments to get the truck out of the gully. Jaws Towing sent some one out anyway and they tried to bully me into paying them $100 just to leave. When I refused...they then called the police. After I explained to the police what the situation was...they sided with me. After this...Jaws Towing then tried to circumvent me by calling Uhaul. I had already spoken with Uhaul and knew that they were not going to pay for a tow truck...that they held me responsible for any towing fees. I had not agreed to Jaws Towing's terms, I had not entered into any verbal contract, and I had not asked them to send out a tow truck. The police left and finally Jaws Towing left me alone. They charge exorbitant fees to people who are in trouble and they wrongly try to bully people into paying for their services. I strongly advise any one from doing business with these people. They are only interested in ripping people off. read more
