I did not have any appointment, but I decided to take it in to a shop just to help them take a look at my car before driving home. He couldn't take my car because he was full. And boy was he right about this shop. These guys are honest, trustworthy, and even looked to save me money as they embarked on a repair to help me, an out of town visitor get my car back to working condition as soon as possible. They were excellent in their communication and for the repair work that was done - the price was very reasonable. It's not mufflers and alignment only. Beware. Their ad says free estimates. They instead did "diagnostics", which they told me afterward they were charging me for. They took 10 mins, charged me for a minimum half hour, and basically put brake fluid in my car. I went in with a brake light on, and a slight wobble when I hit the brakes at high speed that had been there for years. I was charged $86 dollars for them to tell me I had low brake fluid and a warped rotor. And because I didn't want to spend their $600 estimate that day, when all I immediately needed was brake fluid, they refuse to wave the $86. You couldn't pay me to walk back in their doors. That owner was getting ready to have hip replacement so I decided to visit Mikes Alignment. They looked at it and said I didn't need either one (last year). When audi in Scottsdale kept calling for my 90k service (thousands of dollars) I told them about the tie rods and they said oh, we will pull the paperwork and call you .. still waiting on that call. These guys ordered all the parts for my service and charged me less than $1k Don't hesitate to use them. read more

My sweet, little 1995 Chevy S10 pickup is still in very good shape, no leaks, very, very low mileage, etc. except that the radiator was leaking. So I took it to Mike's Alignment. For $1,100 he replaced the radiator, thermostat, water pump, hoses, coolant, etc. When I picked it up it was making an odd noise. He and the mechanic looked at it and thought that the fan might be hitting the shroud. They wiggled the shroud a bit. The noise stopped. They seemed baffled about the problem and told me to come back if the noise happened again. 10 days later I drove it for the 2nd time and the noise had returned but it was much louder. I turned around and went home and called Mike and said I would bring it back in. I didn't mind going through the extra trouble so they could fix it properly. However, I turned it on to return it to Mike's and the noise was super loud and then started screeching. I called Mike and said it wasn't drive-able and he said I would have to pay to have it towed back to his shop. He refused to pay for the tow even if the problem was his fault. He insisted that he will never pay for a tow and the owner always has to pay for the tow! The tow truck driver showed me what the problem was. The water pump pulley was loose and about to come off and the belt had totally come off. The mechanic had not secured it correctly which is why it was making noise before I had left his shop. Mike fixed the truck and admitted it was his fault. Well, he should have reimbursed me for the expensive tow! Why should I have to pay more than $100. for their mistake? My advice. Don't use Mike's Alignment. You might have to pay a lot for THEIR MISTAKES! read more

I recently went back to Mike's after several decades because I wanted a mechanic in Sedona. No more. There are several Mikes at the shop. The one who picks up the phone and sits behind the counter is a salesman who counts on the customer's lack of knowledge to cover up the misinformation he spontaneously spews. I know my cars as well as he does and I know he will say anything "sell' a repair and rationalize their seriously overpriced parts and labor charges. Caught him recommending an unnecessary repair and overcharging me to boot. Found much better advise and prices in Cottonwood. These guys are too hungry. I don't trust them. read more

Visiting Sedona for the week, getting donuts across the street, and car wouldn't start when trying to leave. I called Mike's to see if they had a battery, and they did! AAA didn't offer battery replacement in this area, but was able to give me a jumpstart, so I drove straight over here. They were able to take me in right away and replace the battery. Driving cross country , picked up a nail. Tire place down the street quoted me 3 hours before they could look at it. Mike's Alignment charged me $450. US Dollars to align the front end of my 1963 Chevy truck. I restored the truck before bringing it in, every part was brand new. Mike was out of town so, his son, who has little experience, took over 3 hours to align. The bill was around $300. Mike called me the next day and asked me to bring it back so he could personally check his sons work. I did, thinking he wouldn't charge due to the circumstances. Mike checked his sons work and said he did a fine job and charged me another $150. I was a repeat customer in that I restore classics in the Verde Valley. I asked Mike about the charges and he just said that they have to get paid for their time. read more

Saved our trip! We were traveling through Sedona in our camper van and we started experiencing major brake failure. It's Friday afternoon and we needed it fixed so we could be on the road the next day. Mike and his team not only squeezed us in, but when they couldn't find the necessary parts locally, they used their welder and whatever else they had available in the shop to get things working so we could get back home to Texas. He also sent us with precise instructions for repairing the brakes our van when we returned home. For all of what they did for us, the bill was extremely reasonable. I was attempting to replace a CV axle in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. Spent two days and a lot of profanity on the project, never being able to remove the unit. I finally surrendered and took it to Mike's. They got the job done, saying it took them two hours longer than expected because the keeper ring was broken inside the housing. Oh. Well if it took them two hours longer with their tools and rack it would have taken me two lifetimes. I'm glad I took it there. They're good when everything goes according to plan, I would even say great. However, when they installed a CV axle on my car they didn't take responsibility for a bad install that started leaking at the output shaft and even wanted to charge me to look at the leak that was happening. I didn't really want to fuss with them at that point and just went else where to get the job done right. Just wish things went differently in their customer service department. read more

Mikes alignment was very warm and welcoming, they seemed knowledgable, and most of all reliable. I brought my 2017 Ford F-150 Pickup into Mikes alignment because it needed the IWE "on the fly" 4-Wheel Drive system diagnosed and repaired. When brought in, i made sure to give a clear and concise description of the symptoms i was experiencing to fulfill my reasonable condition as a costumer which is to describe text book symptoms (sounds, vibrations, length of time, patterns, etc). The mechanic said he will have one of his "guys" run diagnostic and the truck will be ready by the end of the day. The end of the day came and the problem worsened at no fault of my own but rather, the mechanics at Mikes Alignment who mistakenly replaced two vital components attached to the IWE Drive system with an INCOMPATIBLE PART. I described a problematic sound similar to chains dragging along the asphalt pavement while driving in motion. They took that information and decided to diagnose the IWE Hub Lock Actuators as faulty on a recently purchases F-150 Ford Pickup truck purchased at a Ford certified dealer less than two years ago and with a perfect Car Facts Report. The following Monday i was told my truck is ready for pickup. I picked up the truck right after work and immediately felt worser issues with the IWE 4x4 Drive system. Prior to this moment, the truck was suffering from a noise heard only in two wheel drive but now, the sound is heard in 4 wheel drive and two wheel drive. Meaning, their workmanship created another problem but i didn't realize what yet. The next day I brought the truck back and their employees looked at me with disbelief and doubting my story. I told them the truck has been likely damaged by them because its worse now then ever. I couldn't put the truck in four wheel drive without hearing a loud banging of parts attached to the wheels. I took my flashlight out, turned the wheel all the way and saw the pitman arm not torqued all the way down properly. Having 8 years of auto mechanic experience, i knew they disassembled the arm from the knuckle to replace the hub actuator locks but forgot to torque the bolt down to the proper foot lbs. This creating friction from the rubbing of parts and in effect, a bang could be heard. The problem went on on on and mikes alignment refused to admit fault even after i audited their invoice and discovered the parts were replaced with the wrong part number. They used a part (off market) for a 2004-15 F-150 that is unique to that model and not compatible with the 2017 and newer because the gears aren't designed with the same beveled dimensions. They are similar but not the same and it has caused further damage to my system. I took the truck to ford and got the parts removed and replaced and ford told me they probably just had to replace the Air Vacuum control Valve because the diagram component goes bad due to age over time meaning is a maintenance issue that shouldn't have coated me 850 dollars of parts and material. Its a 10 dollar part that should take 10 minute's to replace. I told the mechanic to please replace that part well before things got this bad. I asked for the part to be test led on day one but i was told the part tested good doing the blow test with his mouth ‍ A day later he called to admit i was right and the part is bad. But no admitting mistakes made prior to this. This shop is amazing. Everyone here is professional and friendly. They can often get you into their schedule quickly! Most of the time can get my vehicle done the same day! This is impeccable. Don't expect that kind of service for cheap folks. I feel that their prices are a very good value. Time is money, as the saying goes. Therefore, getting your vehicle back so quickly has you back rolling sooner. They will also give you a ride home if you need one. This old school service doesn't exist very many places anymore. Went in for oil change & tire rotation, they called me & stayed I needed wheel alignment so I approved the alignment. Picked up car, did NOT review bill until I got home, MY BAD, they replaced & charged me for a cabin filter and air filter. They did NOT have my permission NOR did they seek it. I phoned & spoke to Jared to share my displeasure. Jared suggested I bring my car back in so they could put my old filters back in. REALLY, this is how you respond to a customer qho just apent almost $300 in your shop? $55 of which Mike's Alignment was NOT authorized to do. Remember, they called me about doing tbe alignment and could have asked me then about the filters. NEVER going back. read more

I was visiting Sedona for a month and ended up having to have four tires replaced because of wheel alignment problems. I got the tires replaced at Costco in Phoenix and returned to Sedona looking for a place to align the wheels. I found Mike's Alignment and I was thrilled with their responsiveness for an appointment, their professionalism when I went into the shop, and their explanations and timeliness of service. I was supposed to drive from Sedona back to Phoenix with my two small children when my air pressure light came on. Not being familiar with the area Mike's was the most convenient place I could find. I called and spoke to Earl explaining the situation and he was super friendly and told me to come on by no appointment needed. When I arrived I parked right by the door hopped out and someone came outside and started to fill my tires right away. I know air pressure is usually a free service anyway, but the way the staff at Mike's handled the situation was so appreciated. This will be a long review, so please bear with me. I am new to the area and wanted a wheel alignment from a business that does quality work. I live in Clarkdale, and here is why I drove 30 minutes to Mike's in Sedona. In April went to a local tire shop in Cottonwood which did my car alignment in 22 minutes, which is a record in my opinion. When I got home I studied the before and after sheet, and according to them I had 7 BEFORE readings that were out of spec, and 8 AFTER readings that were out of spec. In addition, I was told the car needed a camber adjustment kit for $65 plus about $200 labor. I went back for redo 4 hours later, and that time there were only 3 out of spec before and the same 3 out of spec after toe readings. Note that the car no longer needed the camber kit. The technician stated the alignment machine was overdue for a calibration. At this point I did not trust the readings and adjustments that were made, so I gave up on this tire place. When I arrived at Mike's I was told that the owner would be doing the alignment and he had been doing them for several decades. After one hour the alignment was completed and everything was now in spec. There were even several readings found in spec that were adjusted to be more to the middle of the range. I drove back to Clarkdale and found that the alignment was perfect. One final comment, Harold who made the appointment and checked in my vehicle was very nice and attentive to everything I said. Sedona is known for it's positive energy, and Mike's Alignment and Muffler is a testament to that! read more
