Food was delicious. Service slow and management non existent. We stated we were celebrating my wife's birthday in the reservation as well to the host and server. Wife didn't receive a side item. Server apologized and quickly grabbed the item. We ordered another round of drinks halfway through our meal. 30 mins later no drinks sent to our table and we were finished with our meals. Eventually I had to walk over to our server as she catered to other tables....multiple trips as we patiently waited. I told her we never received our drinks and at this point wanted our bill. Wife never even received her birthday dessert that was offered. Did I mention we were told there was a 1.5 hour limit of table time? Fair enough if you provide the proper service. Server returns to mention we weren't charged for those drinks we didn't received.....well duh! The server talked to the manager about this mishap on my wife's birthday. I asked what was managements response. The server suggested they comp one of 2 appetizers we ordered and the manager declined. What????? And the manager didn't visit our table to apologize! 3 people. Approx $150.00 bill and your manager won't comp a $10 appetizer after your team drops the ball more than once during a birthday event. You didn't even visit our table. Let me preface by saying I've been to Sedona for three years and realized I have never made a review. I hate that my review has to be negative, but this is not the Sedona we have loved. First, let's start off with the wait. I'm used to waiting for a table at Sedona especially on a Saturday, but today the wait was extra long. Once we sat and ordered appetizers it took over 40 minutes to get our apps. To make matters worse our nachos came out with the cheese not even melted and with barely any protein. Seeing as this was not the first time I ordered nachos I was extremely upset. To address the issue I had to leave my outside table and walk inside to the hostess to see if they could locate my server as she never came and checked on us. We didn't see her for over 50 minutes :-/ The only star of today's lunch were the Thai glazed wings. My husband ordered the land and sea and steak was overcooked. My devils pass pasta was okay, but extremely greasy. The manager did stop by to offer something for the nacho issue which we appreciated. Sedona you need to work on hiring more staff to make things run smoothly. You seem to be understaffed in the kitchen and on the floor. We left feeling extremely disappointed and will not be returning for a long time. Also forgot to add that the strawberry tres leches cake is extremely dense and flavorless. Well now... I don't normally write reviews, but when I do, it's because something went so sideways I feel like I owe the public a warning label. So we mosey into Sedona in Fredericksburg, party of four. Not a complicated number. Not advanced calculus. We're not asking them to split the atom, just count humans. There are three maître d's standing there like a committee that lost its agenda, and somehow the number four just kept whooshing right past 'em like a Prius in a windstorm. I've seen better coordination in a yard sale. Now I don't know if they were confused, distracted, or just holding out for a fifth invisible friend, but after a while I started wondering if I needed to file a missing persons report... on myself. Eventually, we get seated, no ceremony, no "welcome," just sort of... placed. Like furniture. Our waitress, sweet as she could be, bless her heart, but timing? Accuracy? That's where things got a little... interpretive. We ordered drinks, and I swear they took so long I thought she might be out back distilling the ingredients. When they finally showed up, I'm not saying it wasn't my drink... I'm just saying I wouldn't testify to it in court. And every time we needed something, poof, gone. Like a magician with a nicotine habit. I'm pretty sure if Marlboro had a loyalty program, she just made platinum. Now the food... look, it wasn't bad. It was edible. Nobody had to call poison control. But let me tell you something--this place used to have some spark. We'd been here a few months back, and it had some life to it. This time? It felt like the kitchen showed up, clocked in, and said, "Let's not get crazy tonight." Management, if you're listening, and I hope you are--your front door is the first impression, and right now it's telling folks, "Abandon hope, all ye who can't count to four." And your wait staff? Maybe let 'em smoke on breaks... but maybe also teach 'em what happens between those breaks. All in all, this used to be a hometown favorite. Now? It's a hometown cautionary tale. Other than one of the outside fans not working, so we moved inside, to a nice table close to the bar. Cori our server was AMAZING! She stayed on top of our orders and kept the food and drinks coming. The young lady she was training, is going to be awesome. We decided on Sedona after our Office meeting and had a great time. We sampled practically all of the appetizers The Chicken Marsala was good as well. The inside is decorated nice and fancy. The staff is friendly and upbeat. We came here today for my adult children's birthday for lunch. My daughter ordered the pasta. My son ordered the sliders, my wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. Our food was delivered by other staff and our server was MIA the whole meal. We were so excited to come back after we had a great experience the first time. Unfortunately that was not the case today. Service wasn't good, we waited over 30 min for our food after ordering and our waiter didn't check on us once during that time to get our drink order. For food- we ordered the nachos again since we loved them the first time. First off they were clearly way smaller than last time and unfortunately they barely had any queso (picture included for comparison of the nachos this time vs last). They also didn't have enough pulled pork, and a lot of it were pieces of gristle. I asked for more queso and explained that they didn't have enough and was never told it would be an extra charge. I was dissapointed when we got the check and thought it was greedy to charge extra when they didn't have enough to begin with. As we were all still eating our server seemed to be in a hurry to get us out. He was taking the plates away from us while we were clearly still eating and had food in our mouths and plates. He finally apologized when he took away my daughter's plate only to realize that she literally was holding half of her sandwich and taking a bite. It was weird and uncomfortable that he was MIA for such a long time when we actually needed him but was all over us when we were eating. Food was ok-ish, the Cuban sandwich wasn't hot, the nachos were a let down and the STH hamburger was decent. Time to look for a new restaurant for our next trip to Fredericksburg. read more

The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, and the TVs were showing the latest games, making it easy to relax and catch a match if you're into that. Food-wise, I tried a few appetizers, a main course, and dessert. The crab-stuffed shrimp stood out--they were quite good. They didn't come out piping hot, which is how I personally like my dishes, but the flavors were solid and overall I enjoyed them. For dessert, the crème brûlée was okay--nothing groundbreaking, but it hit the spot. The beer selection is a major plus; they always have one of my favorite beers available, which helped cap the night on a high note. Overall, a satisfying experience with friendly vibes, solid bites, and a go-to beer lineup. I'd consider returning to try more starters and perhaps gauge if they can hit that extra-hot temp I prefer. Would I return? Probably, especially if I'm craving their crab-stuffed shrimp and a dependable beer lineup. We have eaten here a few times when we are visiting University of Mary Washington. Our group shared the Canyon Crab flatbread which we all enjoyed. I had the Santa Fe shrimp tacos. The combination of slaw, aioli, and mango pineapple salsa was very tasty. I get this dish each time we visit and it never disappoints. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Sedona for brunch to celebrate my birthday, and it was the perfect choice. First and foremost, the holiday décor was absolutely stunning. They did a phenomenal job creating such a magical atmosphere--I honestly wish they could keep the decorations up all year . While waiting for our table, we grabbed seats at the bar and ordered cocktails. I had the prickly pear margarita, and she ordered a cider sour. Both were fantastic, though I wish the bar had mentioned the holiday cocktail menu earlier. I didn't learn about the festive drinks until we were seated and our server, Lindsay, walked us through the winter specials. The "Sweater Weather" cocktail sounded amazing (white tequila and coconut milk ) and is definitely something I'll be back to try. We stuck with our go-to appetizer, the goat cheese bruschetta, which was delicious as always. For entrées, we went classic brunch: the hangover burger and the shrimp and grits. My girlfriend loved her burger, and Sedona's shrimp and grits remain one of my absolute favorites--perfectly seasoned and cooked. Even though we were full, we couldn't pass up the seasonal dessert, tiramisu. It was the perfect size--just enough to share without pushing us over the edge. Lol. Another successful meal at Sedona! The service is consistently top-notch, and our server Lindsay was hands down the best--knowledgeable, attentive, and with an amazing personality. We loved her so much, we wished she could've joined us for brunch. The manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us, which we really appreciated. If you haven't experienced Sedona yet, you are seriously missing out. And definitely ask to sit in Lindsay's section! read more

4 star service, 3 star food. Cara was a great server, and the bar staff was friendly. Great ambience. Amazing beer selection. Family and dog friendly. But the food was definitely mediocre to terrible. I got the vegan burger and it hearkens back to being a vegetarian in the 1990s: flavorless. Not only that, it was cold in the middle. The "roasted " Brussels sprouts were very disappointing - they'd been boiled or steamed, and were not only mushy but salty too. My husband's crab omelette was too salty. My friend's waffles were okay. The kid meals were satisfactory- but I will say the steamed broccoli was hella salty. All in all, come here to drink. Maybe eat some appetizers but for a full blown meal I'm betting there are better options in the area. read more

Came here for a girls night dinner and service speed and attentiveness was great. The place is currently decorated for the holidays so it's very festive and fun. We used yelp to book our reservation and it only allows up to 4 people so had to then call to update to a larger party size. Came to Sedona Taphouse in Fredericksburg hoping for a nice evening. Ended up leaving angry. TLDR: Rude wait staff. Limited to no customer service. And gnats everywhere! Don't bother going. The place is deafening. Kitchen noise and the dishwasher blast right into the dining area with zero separation. Had to yell just to hear my date. Ten minutes before a server even showed up. When she did, I asked about happy hour on drafts. She hit me with, "No, that ended at 5. You should have gotten here earlier." Rude. Found bottle beers still on happy hour, picked one out, marked it with my finger. Server walked back, snatched the menu right out of my hand before I could speak, and I lost my spot. Unbelievable. She tried apologizing later saying we "got off on the wrong foot." Too little too late. Not starting fresh after that attitude. Finally got an order in, they didn't have the beer or my backup. Instead of asking what I wanted, she just picked something "similar" on her own. Too young to know better. Bartender had to bring the drinks anyway. By the time mine showed up, my date was done with their drink. So I sent it back. I wanted to drink it with my date and meal not as a dessert afterwards. Manager stopped by, my date explained, manager said she'd "look into it" and vanished. My water sat empty for 10+ minutes. No refill. Nothing. Food arrived wrong. Ordered the Hangover Burger medium, got it medium rare. Date's meal missing a side, had to ask again. After all the waiting, I'm not sure if the server forgot or the Kitchen couldn't get it right. Manager came back right as food landed. Terrible timing. Asked if I could just eat and she walked off. Server took the late side dish off the bill. That was it. No other discount, no fix. Just that. Also, tons of gnats flying around. Sanitation issue, plain and simple. Deafening noise, dismissive server, botched orders, empty glass, bugs, manager ghosting us. Miserable start to finish. Ordered via DoorDash and my fries were not in the order I picked up. Called Sedona to let them know. Picked my missing fries and they were cold and stale.. I would think the inconvenience for having to go back to get my fries that at the very least I would get hot seasoned newly cooked French fries. The wife and I shared the Spicy Thai Shrimp which was absolutely the best! They hit a nice little spice but nothing overbearing. And the big entree was the Handcut NY Strip that hit the spot. Service overall was good but definitely felt like we were being rushed even after we advised the server at the beginning that we were all catching up as we hadn't seen each other in such a long time so we apologized we weren't in a rush to order food but definitely keep the drinks flowing This restaurant has it a great ambiance that allows for a group of friends to catch up, a big bar area if you're just wanting to be alone or away, as well as areas that allow for more intimate meet ups. read more

Okay so I went with my family to this restaurant the day before Christmas . They were smart because they were cooking up all their available inventory before the holiday. The venue is really nice and our server Lindsay was top notch. We were sitting right outside the kitchen so we could hear EVERYTHING lol even conversations that we probably shouldn't have heard. However I get it if I was working on Christmas Eve I may have feelings as well. The crab stuffed mushrooms were not available since they sold out the night before so Lindsay made some great suggestions. We had wings, and the crab flat bread , I had steak, my family had the chicken sandwich, burger and clam chowder. So let's talk food: The shining star was the soup : hot, seasoned and delicious. The less than sensational was the steak and mashed potatoes. Both under seasoned and not really meeting the price tag on the meal. From the feedback of my family the burger and chicken sandwich were both good about a 7/10. Really the best thing about the place was the service. Lindsay was great . I am not sure if I would go here again or maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. read more

Overall, I would recommend this place. I went on a Sunday around 12noon. They had brunch options that I was very pleased with. I went with the Chesapeake Crab Benedict but got scrambled eggs, instead of poached and I was extremely pleased. I wasn't a fan of the brussel sprouts. They weren't crispy enough and they had onions. Also, the breakfast potatoes were a bit too spicy and again not crispy enough. But the benedict itself was delicious. Also, I had the creme brûlée and it was yummy. Our waiter Aaron was awesome, very attentive and answered all of my many questions. Bonus - they have outdoor seating, if you're someone who enjoys eating outside. read more

Four of us just went last night. It looked promising at first, the first two appetizers were tasty and brought in a timely manner. But the third appetizer took another 15 minutes to appear. It was good, so not much complaints there except for timing. But then came the main dinners. Two of us ordered the NY sirloin - one medium and one medium rare, with the same sides. My husband ordered filet mignon with two sides. When they came out, they had wrong sides on two of them and they couldn't tell the medium rare and medium steaks apart. So medium cuts into the steak and it was well done. The medium rare was returned because it had the wrong sides on it, the filet mignon was sent back to put the correct sides on it. The very well done steak was returned so they could make it right. So now all three steaks were returned - now the filet mignon had the correct sides but it was cooked well done (not good for that cut of meat!), for the medium steak, they just turned it over on the plate so it was still well done since it was the same steak that had just been sent back. The medium rare steak was overcooked and tasteless. I did not return it because at this point - why bother? They finally brought the medium rare steak back, but it was not cooked correctly again. Also didn't say anything and just ate a mediocre meal. The brussel sprouts were just soft and no flavor and mashed potatoes were nothing to write about. The broccoli was ok, but not delicious. Would not recommend this restaurant at all. read more

The ambiance this Christmas was out of this world magical. It was so beautiful. Everywhere you looked you saw something different. It was a feast for the eyes. It wasn't a bother, as we got to enjoy the holiday decor and santa heading around. Our drinks were yummy and the starters were worth returning for! Just be prepared to wait -- the hostess told us at 415p the walk in wait would be an hour and we'd only have the table 90min. I immediately looked at the 8 unseated and open tables and 5 people standing around the hostess table. No explanation no hospitality overall honestly. But ok. Happy birthday to me! Sigh. Crazy there were only 2 small groups for walk in waiting. I guess we could wait an hour. After about 20min of the same "no seating" anyone and just lining up the groups waiting, we left. Based on the app while we were eating dessert at Firebirds, our table was ready -- about 2hrs not 1hr. LOL. Glad we left. There's definitely a better way to communicate with your guests, weave in small groups as they come up and turn over tables. I'll do the bar or leave again going forward. Edit for the owner: your recommendation is to make a reservation? There have been no mid afternoon reservations for at least a week. No option to call ahead. The visit was completely spontaneous we made last-minute reservations and I'm so glad we did. We were warmly greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. The decorations were still up, and the space felt beautiful and incredibly welcoming. Our server jessica was very personable and did such a great job attending to us. Both appetizers we got were good and I typically don't even like mushrooms but having it stuffed with crab meat was chefs kiss! We both got the land + sea entree which was good. I prefer my brussels sprouts to be roasted or a bit crunchy , however these brussels sprouts had the opposite texture they were more on the mushy side but they had really good flavor as well. The steak was decent I paired my steak with chimichurri and lemon butter sauce. The stuff shrimp was fire. Overall it was a good experience. I'd give the food 8/10. read more
