I must say, I've never seen something like this before. But it was very delicious. My only complaint I would say is that the steak was not grill hot, it was more like room temp. I loved the service here it was very quick from being seated to our orders being taken and our food being served. It was a Saturday afternoon and the bar area was packed. There were a few tables left and we were seated at one of their last tables. We ordered the enchiladas, tacos de asada, and fajita fries. We were also served chips and salsa while we waited for our food. I liked the fajita fries but the meat was a little under seasoned and overcooked which I didn't mind. The taco meat felt the same way but because of the sauce and the taste of grilled meat in general, I didn't hate the tacos. Late on a Thursday night, we needed dinner and had been recommended to Agave. The wait was not great but understandable since it is a smaller (and very cute) space. The staff was very friendly and helpful, very accommodating to us and a sleepy, hungry toddler (iykyk). A pretty place to enjoy Mexican food on Fredericksburg. The drinks are definitely on point. I ordered a pear margarita and my mom got the house grave margarita. Both were surprisingly good. Also surprisingly good was the chips and salsa. For food, we shared the Carne Asada and shrimp fajitas. The restaurant itself is pretty quaint, your neighborhood Mexican spot. Another great and super busy visit as it was First Friday in downtown FXBG. When we arrived we put our name down for a table and it was about 35ish min later we had a table. This little restaurant is a Tex-Mex gem of FXBG. Been here multiple times, and it never disappoints! Even during rush hour the service is decently fast and very friendly. The food is always fresh, hot, and super flavorful! We tried their margarita flight which was garnished super cute, and after ordering the full-size house margaritas were shocked by the huge size for a great price. The outdoor seating is wonderful during warmer weather, and the inside is super cozy, clean, and well-decorated too. Perfect for a family/friend lunch or dinner or a date! One of the best bar experiences I've ever had, I stopped by with a friend and we were in shock by how good the drinks and vibes were. So as a hispanic, I really had high hopes for this place. We went on a Saturday night, after spending the day at a local convention. We got the recommendation off of tik tok and it looked super good. We had to wait, so we added our name on the list and we saw an opening at the bar. There were four other people at the bar, having drinks and already enjoying their food. We were excited, until the bartender completely ignored us. Didn't greet us at all after we greeted him first, it wasn't until another worker came up and gave us a menu. They could tell we were uncomfortable we still ordered a drink, but our minds were already made up. The bartender that ignored us completely heard us say we were just getting a drink and leaving, decided to offer us a free drink. We took it, but we still decided to leave, because if hearing us being uncomfortable and not okay with the service because you decided to serve the white couple next to us who got there after us, before us.. yeah not good. I give it two stars because the bartender who eventually took care of us was good with us and treated us well. The server explained that i was probably looking for the quesabirria, and swapped it out for me. The quesabirria... lacked flavor. Not the traditional birria you get from a hole in the wall place. I was really hyped to try this place based on the good reviews and it being relatively new. However, I left with much to be desired. I went on a Friday night with a group of friends for a celebration. Upon walking in I noticed the place was small and had limited seating. We were greeted by friendly staff but had to wait 40 minutes to get a table for my group of 7. Once we were seated, I ordered the enchiladas supremas. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The corn tortillas were undercooked and the enchilada sauce tasted like unseasoned tomato sauce. I tried some of the rice and beans on the side but only took one bite due to both being completely inedible. The rice had no flavor at all and the beans were soupy and bland. Despite the food being a let down, the service was great. Our server Allie was amazing! Our orders were taken quickly and she was on top of her game when it came to service. She was super friendly and made the experience great despite the lackluster food. If you're looking for great Mexican food, this place isn't it.
