I went to check out the store and get my glasses adjusted as I have a habit of always falling asleep with them on (I need them to see my dreams, LOL). I met Tameika, who is fabulous and, in the course of a few minutes, convinced me to get my next pair of glasses here! Tameika initially helped me with my own pair of glasses, getting them aligned properly for my progressives. They set me up with an exam, patiently helped me choose from dozens of frames that I modeled, and helped me navigate the insurance process, (I'm out of network - buying good frames is essential for my self esteem) PS. Went here to get my prescription filled. Was greeted immediately and allowed to wander and try on freely without being hassled. Lots of gorgeous frames, in various shapes and sizes. Had chosen about 6, narrowed it down to 4, then 2. They were having a New Years sale, extra 40% of the 2nd pair. So I got two for what would have been the price of one. Six months ago, I went in search of another eyewear shop on Smith Street and stumbled upon SEE. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt like I'd found the most fun and friendly shop on the block!! The atmosphere was alive with people, music and a smiling, inviting staff. The only things missing were cocktails and hors d oeuvres. The eyewear selection did not disappoint. I spent at least an hour, trying on what seemed like, every pair of their fun and fabulous frames. I bought two pair that day and have returned several times since and buy a pair or two, every visit. My experience with SEE was pretty good. The staff was very helpful and patient and eventually helped me find the pair of glasses I didn't know I wanted when I went in for the first time. The build quality on the frames is fine. The pair I got was made in Italy and I don't know if that means union or not, but presumably the working conditions and wages are a little better than in countries better know for low wages and awful work conditions. However, they temples quickly became loose and i have needed to go in twice to have them adjusted. And the price. SEE is not inexpensive. It's boutique and you pay for that. I've had a couple of folks compare them with Warby, who are just around the corner, arguing that the build quality and overall value is better with SEE. I don't agree. I've had three pairs of glasses from Warby and they've all held up in adverse conditions; they are fairly priced (yes, I understand that they are made in China and that means the very labor conditions and wages I mentioned above); and they give glasses to folks who need them as part of their business model. Overall, if you are looking for distinctive glasses and are willing to pay extra for them, SEE is pretty good. If you shop around in the neighborhood, you'll either end up with less expensive glasses from around the corner or you'll buy from SEE. The other optics places in the neighborhood don't compare. I've gone to this location on Smith Street on several occasions. First time I had a wonderful experience, A few months later went to replace a lost pair and was given such a hard time. It took forever to get replacement. The 3rd and final time I went October 2020 took a pair to get fixed, they never repaired and I purchased a second pair. The staff was nice but the manager was a complete a hole. She was difficult and the second pair I purchased took even longer to receive. Each time I called and spoke with manager she gave me excuses. Out of frustration I finally got my glasses and had to go to another place to get glasses adjusted. This store is the worst I would never go to this store again. Buyer beware!! read more

Brought in my squirmy 5 year old son to get fitted for bifocals. Another store screwed up his lenses and after the disaster experience we had at the other shop I was ready to give up. SEE has restored my faith!! April was awesome, the manager with her little pup was friendly & informative. The lenses were measured perfectly and my son is no longer having issues with his reading/writing. They were so patient with us and the price for the lenses was very fair. I bought a pair of glasses here and the person was helpful. It took no time for them to stretch out to the point where they fell off my face if I so much as looked down. I returned to this store THREE TIMES for adjustment to no avail. I started using orthodontic rubber bands in the hinges to tighten them up. They finally slipped off and the frames broke. I went back to the store twice for assistance and was blown off twice. They are nice and helpful until they have your money and if you need no customer service. Be warned. read more

This has been my best experience getting glasses! I've been getting the same style of glasses for the past 10 years, and I wanted help picking something that was out of my comfort zone. Breanna was fantastic; she was very friendly when I first arrived and kept my boyfriend entertained while I went through my eye exam. She then listened to me as I explained what I wanted in a pair of glasses and gave several suggestions as to what I would like. Most of the glasses were almosts but not home runs until the very last pair. They were exactly what I wanted, the shape that I was looking for but just outside my comfort zone. All the other places I've been to usually let me run around the store, trying on hundreds of pairs of glasses before making a choice. Don't waste your time and take your business elsewhere. I had an appointment back in February and 7 months later I have not received any type of prescription or follow up for the contact lenses exam/fitting that I had. They had no problem billing me and my insurance company but refuse to respond to any of my calls or emails on how to solve as they used my 1 insurance visit I get for the year. I even went in person (yes they were open) and was told someone would call me to set up an appointment and solve --- months later and still no call or even an attempt to solve my problem. Completely unprofessional and a rip off. I realize that covid did slow some things down but at this point there is no excuse as they are open and taking appointments. They didn't even attempt to find an interim solve when they were closed, I had to call my old Optometrist in Los Angeles to help me out, what a joke! Terrible experience overall and they wasted so much of my time. Save yourself the time, energy and money and go to literally any other optometrist in the area. read more

My fiance and I came in to each get prescription glasses using groupon, and it was actually fun. After wearing mine for a few weeks, they ended up being too heavy and kept sliding off my face... and they let me swap them out for a different pair :) Throughout the whole process (picking out the glasses after trying on a million, picking them up when they were ready, having them adjusted ~20 times, swapping for a different pair, more adjusting, etc) I dealt with at least four different employees, and they were all so friendly and helpful. You have to go to SEE to experience a small town vibe in this congested and overpopulated nabe. These women are professional, kind, patient, knowledgable and they won't push you into a pair of frames that are wrong for you. And talk about accommodating .. I'm a tough customer. I bought a pair of frames that I thought were PERFECT, and after a couple of adjustments, well, they weren't. Breanna, Apryl and Dorea have all taken kid glove care of me. A word of caution: because it's a busy store, and it's not a large space, you may have to wait. Be patient or return or make an appointment. SEE has a great and reasonably priced house collection that is much cooler than Warby's. There's an optician on premise. Nice to work withh all women. If I had to say ONE thing I wasn't crazy about SEE, it's that it took a little longer than I would've liked to have received my glasses. Turnaround could be a little faster .. maybe I hit it at a bad period of time. Go SEE for yourself! read more
