I am a candy fiend and have done pretty well controlling my cravings until my most recent visit to See's Candies! A friend could not say enough about how great See's Scotchmallows are. A perfect fluffy marshmallow nougat with a layer of Carmel and covered with chocolate? Yes please! Just the smell of this delicious chocolate shop had my mouth watering! I stuck to my list and only purchased the Scotchmallows I was so desperate to try but it was not easy! They were out of their best selling Original Scotchmallows but they did have a Coffee flavored Scotchmallow. Coffee and Chocolate?! That's better than what I came for in the first place! I was offered a full piece of "sample" chocolate and it was oh so delicious I had to grab my purchase and get out! I love See's chocolate. Not overly sweet or bitter. See's Candies is one of my go to shops for a special treat. First of all, it I love the case with all the chocolates sitting neatly in their paper cups hoping that you point at them to take home. Not to mention the cute outfit that the employees have to wear, reminds me of I Love Lucy at the chocolate factory! Also, they are always ever so generous with a sample of something when you stop by! Oh I'm in trouble now... Walking through Coronado Mall, heading outsiide to find a place to eat when I spot a See's Candies store that wasn't here before. Having grown up with See's everywhere in So Cal I really like their candies. To this point I have been relegated to buying See's at airport kiosks or whenever I visit a place where their stores are located. So in we go. Greeting us is a young lady wearing the familiar white dress with black piping handing us a piece of candy to sample. Hmmm delicious. Smooth milk chocolate with rich buttercream filling. I have never had a piece of See's candy that wasn't rich and delicious and these were no exception. We order a piece of candy each and leave with candy in tow. Yes, it may be a little more expensive than other candy makers. But so much better! If you've never been to See's stop in and try some - you won't regret it. read more

Awesome, awesome, awesome! This is what good chocolate should taste like. I don't like fruity chocolate, but everything else in the store is absolutely amazing. The store is very clean, the chocolates are laid out very nicely, and the service is always exceptional. In addition, I think the prices are incredibly fair for what you get. The candy is always fresh, and delicious. This is absolutely my favorite chocolate store in Albuquerque. My lovely Auntie gave me a one pound box recently. She knows the way to my heart. The only rational thing to do is to eat them up quick so I can STOP THINKING ABOUT THEM. Russel's, Whitman's, even fancy truffles from your typical chocolate shop, I can take 'em or leave 'em. The chocolate usually disappoints with an odd plasticky texture, the centers are gooey and predictable. But See's, good God, no. The chocolate melts in your mouth, the nuts are fresh and crunchy, and the soft centers are ridiculous. There's this brown sugary one, the Bordeaux maybe?, that is just insanely good. I nibble the edges to savor, but then, overcome with lust, shove the whole piece in my mouth. I tell myself I will eat just one, but that becomes two, three . . . four. Okay, okay, five on a bad day. I am a pig. I remove the fragrant little empty paper wrappers from the box and rearrange the candies so that you can't really tell how many I've just eaten. And who do I fool? No one but myself. For the candies are hidden from my son and my man on the top shelf of my closet. read more
