A friend sent me some of the dark scotchmallows a few years ago and I have been hooked ever since. These are excellent chocolates and confections. If you aren't accustomed to cream in everything and are a dark chocolate lover, this might throw you off. We enjoy these chocolates during this festive time of year. I want to be very clear about something: See's candies in general deserves five stars as a product line and company. Having said that, this review is specifically for this location in Denver. This location deserves five stars even amongst others in the chain. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. They did not 'push' the seasonal products too hard... they simply mentioned them to make sure I was aware of the sale. When I described what is was looking for (dark chocolate pieces with nuts) they instantly knew where to direct me. I ended up purchasing one pre-packaged 2lb box and one custom 2lb box. If you are looking for excellent chocolates and candies, See's is the right choice. Those of us unlucky enough to live outside the range of the See's franchise can only purchase it on trips. In the addictive world of chocolate, one must seek out quality, price and selection to soothe the soul for this necessary food group. As a dark chocolate addict for 30 years, it can be a struggle to find enough variety besides the 70% dark cocoa bars one can now purchase in Wal Mart or King Sooper for $2. Sees is a good alternative to buy a wide selection of chocolates (dark or the dreaded milk) for very reasonable pricing especially for gifts during the holidays. I recently bought 3 dark boxes with 20 pieces each for less than $10 per box with a corporate discount. Just mention you work for any major Colorado company and they don't question the validity of your employer. Plus, they give you plenty of samples before you buy and the cashier has more free samples. I mean, how could you not be a fan of See's? You get treats when you walk in the door and they have some of the best chocolates ever...but really, best chocolates ever...and molasses chips...and toffees...and peanut brittle...and I could keep going... Sure, things are a little pricey, but I typically make my stops into See's around the holidays and for hostess gifts so I think the cost is justified. The staff here are also crazy friendly and were able to make some suggestions based on what I was looking for. As with all stores, I'm the youngest one in there by 50+ years. It's located in a place, just south of the competition (Russell Stover's) and closed on Sundays. The gals that work there wear odd clothing - white skirts and shirts - reminds me of an old school nurses uniform. =-) I love to make a trip over to this side of town just for these sweets. My faves are the truffles, but I do enjoy samples of just about everything else. I have no issue with the quality of the candy. However, I ordered on line, as a gift, to have three items shipped to arrive before Thanksgiving. The site offered "2 day Air shipping arrives Nov 23". On November 24th when the package had not arrived I called Customer Service and was told it was due to arrive on the 25th in the morning. After no delivery on the 25th I called Customer Service again and was told it was due to be delivered on Friday, the 27th, the day after Thanksgiving! I will NEVER order from See's Candies again. On December 6th I placed an order online (which I do every year for Christmas gifts) and requested that the boxes be delivered on Dec 21st to ensure their freshness. I have still to receive the boxes of chocolates. I contacted the customer service department after Christmas was over and told them I would like a refund as the chocolates were gifts and Christmas was over. They responded by telling me it was "not possible " to refund me my $. Today is January 9th and I still no sign of the chocolates. Great customer service. read more

I hail from Southern California, where you can find a See's Candies in just about every shopping mall. Although difficult to get to when traveling from Boulder, I was stoked to find a See's in Denver. A trip here is a must. It's better than Godiva, in my opinion. You also get a free sample of the daily chocolate when you go up to the counter to order. My favorite sweet shop!!! Classics are the butterscotch and chocolate lollipops. They have cinnamon and pumpkin spice for the holidays but butterscotch is still my absolute favorite. As for the pick your own box I always get the one pound the chocolate raspberry, vanilla buttercream are my picks my ten your old daughter loves the chocolate bourdoux I think because of the sprinkles. All the same, the associates who work here do a great job of moving everyone through pretty quickly, and they do it with a big smile and cheery demeanor.
