This location has been here as long as I have been alIve. I can vividly remember walking through the front doors as a kid in the 70's, pulling my mothers arm as I smelled the sweet chocolates, mouth watering with expectation of the free samples. Nothing has changed. This See's location has been here for years. They have a wide assortment of candy available, and it's a little pricier than normal. However, if you are a fan of their candy, or are looking to create a custom gift package, there is no better place to go. I came in here to buy a gift for a friend, who is a big fan of their chocolate, and was able to get them a little gift box that cost under $10. The customer service here is great. The woman who helped me put together the gift box was very helpful, and respectful of my budget. This has always been my favorite candy store, with picking out my special pieces. But this year at T.M.C gift store...there was a beautiful table outside the gift store. Lots of pre made one pound boxes. I thought how nice to pick up my Surgeon a box. He was very pleased at getting a box of See's. On my way out I couldn't help but pick up a second box for myself. Also several suckers. I opened my yellow Easter paper box. Never do I get a pre made box, because it doesn't have all my favorites...this was convient. Opened up to find a pack date and the message to eat it before 59 days for the best flavor. I glanced at calendar it was already pushing 30 days. So I assumed it would be great! Not even close to being good, they looked the same, no discolored chocolate, each piece was perfect. But my first piece was hard on the bottom and top. The flavor was good... but having fresh from a store....these were not good quality. My second, third was the same. The horrified thought...I just game my surgeon a box. Who doesn't love See's! Alot of my childhood memories revolve around See's candy especially during holidays.. Mothers day, Easter, Christmas. When we had See's candy something special was definitely going on! We came in to get a pound of assorted milk chocolates as a gift and were greeted right away. We were also offered a sample of a soft centered banana nut milk chocolate candy... yummmm... is all I can say. We also purchased assorted lollipops, butterscotch, peanut butter, chocolate & vanilla. Customer service was great. We were asked if we needed any help with anything but we already knew what we wanted. See's by far is one if the best chocolates out there. The quality supersedes Whitmans by a landslide. The chocolate tastes the same after all these years and everytime I bite into an old fashioned soft center chocolate, so many great memories come back because it still tastes the same. I do like chocolate but after I tried some of the See's samples I was shocked. Their candies are similar to the Witman's brand. Their flavor and texture are almost the same. First of all, a little backstory. My favorite candy is the classic pecan and caramel chocolate which one company calls turtles. My husband put my engagement ring in a box of said See's candy when he proposed to me. Since then, every anniversary, he buys me however many turtles in number with how long we've been married. We just had our 17th anniversary. When he asked for 17 candies the sales clerk was extremely confused. She kept saying that they were sold by the pound. Well, of course they are. Pick out 17 turtles and weigh them. I thought the point of a candy store was getting exactly what you want. After explaining why he wanted such a specific number of chocolates, she apparently perked up and filled the order. The candies deserve 4 stars but the lack of basic training and customer service brought it down to 3. read more
