We had flooding in our master bedroom that resulted in having our custom built-in vanity removed completely. They came out and removed the vanity with care keeping the sink and counter top in place. This is my review of Seib Contractors in regards to water damage restoration to our 50+ year old 3 bedroom home. First, a little back story on this project. In mid-April 2020, our house suffered a broken pipe inside the wall behind the kitchen sink. Water had been flowing through the bottom of the wall under the kitchen sink and counters, under the laminate wood flooring through the entire kitchen, dining room and laundry room, ruining the laminate flooring and base of the walls in these rooms. We have good home owners coverage via State Farm. We had a similar water damage incident in 2011 and had a horrible experience with a different contractor and that project took a whopping 6 months to complete with my family staying in a hotel most of that time. So we had a lot of trepidation going into this new mess. Once we set up the claim with our insurance company, a mold and remediation company tore out the walls and flooring, dried out and inspected and certified the damaged rooms as mold and asbestos-free. We had an outside plumber re-do the water line inside the exposed wall. As this was the only thing our insurance didn't cover, this was done by a different contractor and paid out of pocket. At this point, about 2 weeks since the claim was initiated we had researched and talked to numerous contractors before settling on Seib Construction. One of the things that made them especially attractive to our job was the fact they specialize in exactly the type of work our house required and they had their own shop to rebuild our damaged cabinets without doing that work in our house. Kevin from Seib came to our home to evaluate the work needed and come up with an estimate to submit to our insurance. He has good experience working with insurance companies, including State Farm on claims so there were no issues between Seib and our claims adjuster as to work estimates and claim compensation. It took about a week for our insurance company to approve the work and the dollar amount. It should be mentioned this all occurred during the height of the CaronaVirus "lockdown" and most of the time work was done, we had to stay at home limited to the bedrooms while half of the house was isolated with plastic in the areas work was being done. Everyone connected with Seib wore masks on and in our property and practiced the typical "social distancing" measures. The habitable side of the house was well protected from dust by plastic partitions in doorways leading to the damaged part of the house. The only time we had to stay in a hotel was a few days during the painting and wood stain/finish coat process due to the smell. Within a week of the estimate being approved, work was started, first removing all the kitchen cabinet faces and doors to be refinished at their shop, installing and painting new drywall and eventually installing new cabinet interiors. Once the cabinets were completed, everything was finished with a satin coating which gave new life to the old cabinets. A new, large cabinet face was built and perfectly stained to match the rest of the Cherry stain color of the original cabinets. Drawer faces which had been refinished at the business were reinstalled leaving the entire kitchen cabinets honestly looking better then they originally did when they were first bought and installed. The laundry room which had a terrible, inappropriate latex paint job which had been peeling badly from a previous contractor's work in 2011 due to a similar flooding incident was like a new room once it was stripped and repainted. The following week, the new flooring was installed, a one day job. Days after that, the baseboards were installed and a few minor touch-up details were addressed and the job was finished. Seib's total restoration time was about four weeks however, work was mostly in 2-3 day spurts due to time needed for paint drying, etc. in-between major steps. Everyone, notably Tony and Fred were very diligent about the quality of their work and went to great pains to explain what needed to be done and the time frame it would take to get various steps completed. They always showed up at agreed times and were very responsive to email, text and phone questions. At the end of their work days, they always left a clean workspace. The project was completed in a fair and reasonable amount of time. The kitchen, dining room and especially the laundry room look infinitely better than they have in literally decades. Overall, my wife and I are extremely satisfied with Seib Construction's work. read more

Drywall and kitchen cabinets were partially demo'd. At first we were told by the general contractor that they could not fix and/or match the cabinets (some were demo'd, some were not). We had purchased refaced cabinets purchased from Reborn Cabinets 9 years ago and while the cabinets were in good shape, the top layer of wood was very thin. A week later we were happy to learn that Seib Construction could build new cabinets and also stain them all to match. Kevin came out to evaluate the project and give us timelines for completion. When we saw how they removed our cabinet and granite counters so meticulously without damage, we decided to retain them for restoration. I had a flood in my condo March 7. The condo association took care of some of the job which lasted till May, then Kevin Seib dealt with the new flooring and baseboards. I needed the flooring to go around a large wall unit and Kevin had this done beautifully even though matching the paint was a challenge.
