Price posted for today is $3.50/lbs. we picked 50lbs A small tip; make sure you walk a bit into the ranch for trees that have lots of good fruit - especially during the memorial day weekend. And the cherries near the top of the trees tend to taste a bit sweeter. People tend to stay near the entrance area and just pick near the bottom of the tree, so if you stay around there you won't find a lot of cherries. And come early!! We are leaving the ranch at 9:15. The line of cars coming in to Brentwood is already super long and ridiculous. read more

Visit on 5/29/17: Great day and place to pick cherries. Not too crowded, not too hot, and trees were hit-or-miss, but we did find several hits. Quality is pretty decent, but we had to get the ladder and go for the higher-hanging fruit. The lower ones were mushier and had less flavor. read more

Going here on Memorial Day weekend (which is usually when they open for the season) has been a tradition in my family for over 20 years. I would always complain about waking up at the butt crack of dawn to be the first to get in but it was fun on the drive home to count the long lines of cars trying to come in while I munch on my yummy cherries. Prices have gone up over the years and it looks like the orchard is getting smaller but it it still a fun time indeed. Tips: 1. Don't pick the cherries in the parking lot. The workers will get mad at you and the cherries aren't ripe there anyways. 2. Do not wear nice/white clothes/shoes. It will get dirty as you walk around, climb the ladder and challenge people to pit spitting contests. 3. Find someone to help you with your ladder. Those things are huge and it looks a little sad when you're trying to set it up by yourself. 4. Looks can be conceiving. Go for the dark red, firm cherries. They're the yummiest. But taste test to make sure. The cherries that look like butts are still good to eat. =) 5. Pick only the cherries - not the leaves or stems. You're paying by the pound so you don't want $6 worth of stems (unless your tongue wants to practice it's knot-tying skills). 6. Do not pick cherries by the port-o-potties. Came today with my mom to pick our hearts out! My mom is a u-pick cherry connoisseur and had never picked here before. She loved it! I followed her about 1/2 way back through the trees as she searched for the best fruit. She was very pleased with the quality and quantity of Bings (her favorite). We picked 40 lbs and dragged our haul home with great pleasure. The folks there are super nice, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely be back! read more

This has been the location of convenience for cherries. We had been going across the street for our Asian Peaches and thus just cross the street for cherries instead of spinning around and around. The place is scattered and ladders are all around. Just the ground is all tore up too, so need to make sure kids and older folks need to really watch where they are walking. read more

5/25/2014 Do not go. There are literally no cherries. But this review is not for their lack of fruit. It's not their fault the season is bad. This is strictly for their customer service. The beginning of the pick was good. Parking attendants were helpful and the lady doing the release form was fine too. But at the end, near closing, it was as if a large dark cloud descended over them. They were in a pissy mood. They treated everyone poorly. I witnessed the lady in the fruit stand literally experiencing a full blown PMS session. She barked out prices, no please or thank you, and her tone was unforgivable. We bought 2 pounds of cherries for $8. It's not that I wanted to reward her behavior by buying fruit, but since there were no fruit to pick, we had little choice. I watched her treating a previous customer very rudely. He asked for the price of water, then she barked, "A buck each!" He asks for 3, and she yells, "Three bucks!" And makes a gestures and opens her palm. Usually, one gets the water and then asks for money. There were no thank you's or please. We paid for our fruit, and we stood and watched her count our money. I needed her to acknowledge and be grateful for the sale. She finishes counting and glances up because we were still standing there. No acknowledgement. I just loudly said, "thank you", and her replied was, "yup." Was that on purpose? Did she purposely wanted to be rude? I replied, "you're welcomed." I'm glad I have this forum to warn others. On the way out, another lady started yelling, "Move out of the way! A car is coming!" The car is one of there's. There is no reason for this, because even if I moved out of the way, it still needs to yield to traffic to merge into the main road. The lady was incredibly rude. I was holding my baby, so my reply was, "He can pass when I finish walking." She didn't reply after that. I took my sweet time walking. I walked to the road, cars were going left and right, I crossed the street and walked towards my car. I turned back and that car was still in the parking lot, still waiting to merge out. Why bother chasing me off the road? Their customer service here at Seko was just horrendous. Was it the heat? Was it the poor season of crop? Or is this just who they are? read more

Almost like grabbing things off the shelves in a frenzy that yielded to no financial burden? Well, this was the place. Except this wasn't so much a dream as it was in full blown reality when you could walk and pick food off of a tree. Sweet, sweet cherries everywhere around you. Nothing could stop you from having the cherries clog the vital stomach space for the lunch you brought and the wine you wanted to drink. We walked out with about 13 lbs of cherries for $2/lb. I have enough to last me through a nuclear winter or two, about a hundred cherry pies, and enough to share with my friends. This place is where memories are made and traditions are kept. My friends and I have come here to pick cherries about 4 years in a row on Memorial Day weekend. We just chose this place the first year because they didn't have a minimum number of pounds per person to purchase and you are also allowed to eat as you pick! The first year we came the crop was AMAZING with huge, super sweet cherries. The 2nd year it was bad, 3rd and this year is pretty good. Make sure you do taste testing before you pick all your cherries off a tree. $2 a pound when I went yesterday. I think the store is the same price so I'm not sure why I come here every year :) read more

They have ladders, but I found using a stack of 5 buckets and standing on that was more than enough. This farm is large, you could get lost in here. Definitely worth going to with the whole family. Loved how you can eat as much as you like while picking. Loved the shade the mature trees offerred. But I did find sweeter, crunchier fruit at another farm the same day. Also, since they specialize in Bings, there aren't many Rainiers to pick... Only found one tree. PS. Go on a week day morning... This farm had plenty of cherry trees to pick and eat from. Bring a spray bottle! It was only $2/pound, not bad considering it's now towards the end of the season. The only offered bing cherries. Overall: OK place as there are many more farms in the area with variety of cherries which are larger, crunchier and juicier. read more

Please don't take your family there. We have been here many years while our children was small, and every Memorial weekend our family always come here. They always had great fruits and good prices for U pick. We back here this weekend 5/2016, and so disappointed the price is expensive the fruits are so bad, there are NOT a lot of fruits on the tree. We felt like they use us to clean up the tree, after they picked all the good ones already. You should check some where else before go to Seiko ranch. We went there on Sunday morning. Cherries within the reach of our arms were sour and no cherry taste. We tried using a ladder for darker cherries, some tasted a bit sweeter, but still more of sour taste to it. Not easy to find tasty and sweet cherries. We made the trek to Brentwood during Sunday of the past Memorial Day Weekend, and this farm was one of the only ones left with cherries to pick. (Wow!) Guess the season started early this year. Anyway, this farm was the second one we checked out (via drive by). They had a lot of parking, which was nice. Surprisingly, the lot filled up quite quickly. By the time we left, cars were all lined up waiting for parking - I think the line to this place is what caused the traffic jam all the way to the highway! Everything about this farm was the same as other cherry picking farms. They were pretty organized. You sign a waiver, get your bucket and after you had your fill of cherry picking, you weigh and pay (cash only). The cherries weren't super sweet - a little more on the tart side. By the time we picked, there weren't a whole lot of cherries on the lower branches, but certainly many that you could reach my ladder. There were also enough ladders for people. We had a good time, but knocking a star because the cherries weren't as sweet as I would like. (Last year we went to a different farm, and the cherries definitely sweeter.) My friend and I went to Seko this past Saturday (6/3). Instead of picking cherries, we went to the stand/counter. The staff was so friendly and open, & offered tastings. Warning! Make sure you take exact change.My daughter took her 4 year old son to pick cherries for the first time. Buys $5.00 worth of cherries and hands the older woman a $20.00 bill. The women gives only $5.00 change back to my daughter and denies my daughter paid with a $20.00. This review is actually a year late! I went with my daughters and some other friends to Seko Ranch to cherry pick last season and had a great experience! We had recently moved from SoCal and had never gone cherry picking before so I wasn't really sure what to expect. There is parking on the road leading up to the ranch (it is a dirt road so don't wash your car right before), and after you sign the waiver they provide a 5 gallon bucket to store the cherries you pick in. My daughters had a blast picking cherries and I had to keep an eye on them so they didn't fill up the bucket and rack up our bill, haha! You only pay for what you pick and there isn't a fee to get in, so it really is a great price for the experience and yummy cherries. My husband is a huge fan of cherries and he would have eaten the whole lot we brought home had I not stopped him by reminding him of the inevitable result of eating that many! Anywho, they were great tasting cherries and we plan to go back this year sometime in the next month. read more

Just went this last Saturday and there are still plenty of cherries! Definitely aim for the trees in the back. We got too excited and picked the first tree we saw with cherries..only to find the bulk of our 28lbs came from one tree towards the back. Steel ladders were cumbersome and seemed a bit sketchy but served us well. $3.50/lb, plump crunchy cherries, a bit on the tart side, extremely nasty port-a-potties, but happy to finally eat cherries this year. We brought picnic blanket but grounds were rough (watch out for those gopher holes...nearly twisted an ankle!!). Best to bring lawn chairs and it sure does get HOT.. read more

It's our first time to pick cherries on their farm. Actually for me, their u-pick was kinda costly $3.50/ lb but when we tried their cherries I can say that it's all worth it. Love this place and keep coming back every year in early June. $2 / lb and you can eat as you pick, plastic bag lined buckets are available as are ladders scattered around the orchard. Taste the cherries off the tree before you go wild plucking cherries off the tree; the darkest ones aren't always the sweetest. We usually find some super sweet juicy cherries and just wish we could pick the whole tree. Great for families; the kids will have a blast! read more

Will not be going back to this farm, I don't care how the fruit tastes. I called ahead on Memorial Day and was told to show up before noon and they still have fruit to pick. Showed up at 11am to a LONG LINE of cars all turning around to leave because the farm closed. There was no closed sign on the one by the road so everyone was trying to get in and it was a mess. The kids they hired were rude when telling us they were closed. One of them actually was annoyed with me when I was expressing it was not right to tell me on the phone to come down only to find the farm closed. I spent all morning prepping my family to go and was very disappointed when I got there. The kid also said the people inside were complaining because their crop wasn't very good. Due to the customer service alone, I will not be going back. Next time, a "closed" sign at the road would have been helpful. read more

Lots of yummy cherries, but not the best customer service. We were told the picking buckets were 20-25 lbs, so we picked a bucket and it weighed out at 32. The cashiers were NOT kind to us or happy when we had to get our coins out of the car for the final $20. I think they were hoping we would be unable to pay and get a bucket of free cherry picking labor our of us for the prepicked farm stand. U pick was $3.50/lb, outhouses were disgusting and overflowing. Also, lots of hidden and deep holes in the orchard. I fell down one up to my knee. read more

Seko Ranch Cherries is #26 on the 2014 Brentwood Harvest Time Farm Trail Map. As of Sunday, May 25th there were still some bing cherries on the trees, but not a whole lot. The trees here seemed well established based on how large and tall they were. The vast majority of the cherries were located high up in the trees and only with ladders were the fruits reachable. Thankfully large ladders were located here and there throughout the orchard but it felt like a lot of effort to pick cherries. Especially given that at a later orchard all of the cherries were within arms reach. Regardless, still ended up picking 3lbs of bing for $3.50/lb. Parking attendants directed visitors to places to park; which I found very helpful. read more
