My friend and I heard great things about this place, in addition to reading the reviews. It'll was simply going to try it out, as we live 25 minutes from here, but my son loves it and we can't get him to stop asking us when's the next time he gets to go and it's been 5 months! What I absolutely love is that if you sign up for 2 or 3 days a week, you're not committed to certain days of the week. You just show up as many times are you signed up that week. I love the flexibility! I have my son in so many sports and activities after school that it's a pain to have to call the company to switch days or having to stop going because of scheduling. They make it easy for our busy lives. What I also love is that they respond via text if you prefer it. That way either party can respond wherever convenient and you're not waiting all afternoon until they open to answer the phone. Beyond those things the coaches are so so kind and skilled. My daughters have been training at Sektor for a year now and I'm so happy with the growth I've seen in both of them. Their maturity, discipline, and confidence have soared since starting at Sektor. Kids classes are split by levels (beginner and intermediate/advanced) with a black belt as the main instructor for each group. There are also plenty of assistant coaches helping each group on any given day. No matter who is on the mat, one thing is for sure, all of the coaches show how much they care about the kids' progress and safety every single day. The gym itself is a spacious and clean environment with plenty of mat space, changing rooms, and showers for students. As a parent, I personally appreciate having bleachers and AC available while my kids are on the mat. If your kids are looking to go the competition route, you can rest assured that you aren't in this alone. Sektor coaches are there for the kids at every competition. Their teammates are there to help them warm up and cheer on the side lines for them. Parents are there beside you cheering your kids on like they're their own. I enrolled my 3 children into Sektor-Chino about 3 months ago. They came in as grey belts ages 6,8, and 10. Immediately when you walk in you can't help but to notice the HUGE and spacious mat they have and the tiered bleachers they have for the parents to sit and watch their kids. The classes are taught by either Sean or Nolan who are both black belts and VERY well knowledgeable in their craft, all awhile detailing the specifics down to where the kids understand. They show TONS of patience and care toward the children. Lastly, my kids first 2 years of jiu jitsu was taught at Alliance. They had a really Awesome professor (Mayra) then things fell apart with the gym unfortunately. My kids arrived at Sektor-Chino and were in for a reality check. The skill level Sektor's professors have their kids at is beyond anything I have seen. But the past 3 months I have seen major improvements in ALL 3 of my kids, mostly my 6 year old. I credit it to Sean and the other professors on the spot corrections during drilling and sparing and the skill level he has all the other kids my kids drill or spare with. They're confidence has grown tremendously inside and outside of the gym. Been at Sektor Chino for approximately 3 months now, I have 2 daughters aged 6 & 8 that are currently enrolled. Both have improved by leaps and bounds since starting here and have made many friends already. Coach Sean and Nolan are fantastic with the kids and their attention to detail is awesome. Many times the practices are tailored to deficiencies that the coaches pick up on during tournament matches or sparring sessions and directly help in patching holes that exist in the students' game. Anything determined to be "unsafe" or any injury that occurs on the mat is addressed immediately and recommendations and direct feedback is given by instructors to the entire class on how to perform said maneuver to keep all involved safe. Sektor is a great place for children and for adults to learn a great discipline. We enrolled our twin boys a little over a year ago and they love it.
