Best decision I ever made was to send my son here to learn BJJ. He has so much fun, his low confidence is now gone, and the environment is very family friendly. I wanted to wait a month to write my review to make sure i am fully able to give this place a review based off my experience and the instructors, environment, and people. Being a girl in a male dominated sport is tough, but this place makes it easy. From the process of enrolling to the instructor being patient and taking the time to properly instruct me. I have seen an improvement in such a small amount of time and I couldn't say how much I am grateful for this place. I personally like going Monday's and Wednesdays with Instructor Gabriel, he is great at teaching technique and gives clear instructions. All the guys are very welcoming to the at times (only girl in class) and as long as you are able to get down, sweaty, and give it your all you have nothing to worry about. Also I have been to another BJJ and this one is much more affordable. You pay for cardio, lessons, and sparring time, which is about 1 hr and 30 mins. Usually they only go an 1 hr but this place puts the effort in really giving the students the time they need. My new favorite place to get my stress out! This is the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) school around. I work in the area quite frequently and this is my favorite place to train. Gabriel Costa one of the the black belts there is from Brazil and has a great BJJ game. He is also a very very good teacher. Greg Rivera is a black belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He was promoted by Ralph Gracie himself and is from Ralph's original school in NorCal. I was lucky enough to also train with him in NorCal. Also Sean Roberts who is a phenom in the BJJ competition scene is from this school. He is the owners son. This shows the level of passion they have about the martial arts. I dont have any kids but judging by the number of kids they have their and the Happy Mom's & Dads I see there the program is very successful. If you are in the Chino Hills, Corona, Pomona or surrounding area this is my favorite marital arts school. read more

I attended 2 schools prior to coming to Ralph Gracie and I must say that this is the best school for both beginners and those looking to reach new levels. Friendly teachers and friendly students makes for a productive and comfortable place to learn jiu jitsu for all belt levels. No egos! Lots of humble nice people trying to make each other better. There are ton of students of various sizes and levels to pair up with during training. I started attending Ralph gracie about 4 months ago right when I started medical school and I must say that this place is my main outlet for stress relief and for keeping in shape. They have the best schedule I have seen thus far because of 3 in house black belts that teach. As busy as I am their schedule is extremely convenient! Plus they have impromptu open mat sessions set up on their facebook group outside of the planned schedule, which is something I have not seen at other gyms. Lastly, I think its the atmosphere is the biggest reason the place deserves 5 stars. The instructors exhibit so much passion and sincerity for this craft that it inspires me to not only want to train harder at jiu jitsu, but to work harder in all other aspects in my life. BEST JIU-JITSU ACADEMY & my kids love it! I have 2 boys who have been going to Ralph Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (Chino Hills) for about a year now. During this year, my kids have learned discipline, respect, how to defend themselves and much more. Coming from a family of fighters myself, I did my homework on many academies around the area (Inland Empire) before committing to this studio. This has been the BEST decision I have ever made. This studio is like our second home. I am not a local, so I do drive a ways to get there, but well worth it. The prices are very reasonable and they offer classes just about every day of the week and Muay Thai on Saturday. And the best part of all, this studio has the most amazing professional Black Belt Instructors. Gabriel Costa and Greg Rivera are phenomenal. These guys are the best around and my kids love them. They work very well with the kids at their level and make it fun and easy for them to LEARN and RETAIN the techniques they have been taught. My kids compete in tournaments now and are doing awesome. Unlike some of the striking martial arts which often send you off to punch pads, Jiu-Jitsu is safe enough to do lots and lots of sparring. While the submissions are quite effective, the loser can tap out and start over again time after time. A typical hour and a half class here has at least a half hour of sparring and on occasion it is just about the entire class. With that much time on the mat you quickly learn to apply all sorts of joint locks and chokes which are remarkably effective. Because nothing is better motivation to not hold back than someone trying to remove your arm, this is a really good way to go to get in shape. I have seen several people lose 30lbs or more and go from looking fat to being in remarkable shape. It won't be easy, but if you are willing to put in the effort it is unquestionably effective. Even at the once or twice a week I make, I am in a whole lot better shape than when my only exercise was walking across the office to get coffee. For tournament gi Jiu-Jitsu I would recommend this school to anyone from the person with no martial arts experience who is just looking to get in shape all the way up to someone with years of experience who wants to win big tournaments. Most days they have two adult classes a day of gi Jiu-Jitsu so you can get in quite a lot of training.They also have fairly good training for no gi but it isn't emphasized as much. During the off-season they have wrestling classes but it is usually just one or two nights a week. For the past few months they have a judo black belt who teaches some classes, but as of yet that has not been a big focus for the school. They also have Muay Thai classes but I have not yet attended any of them so I cannot comment on them beyond saying that they exist. read more

First of all, I have to say a huge thank you to Sean and his mom Laura! My son used attend jiu jitsu here back when it was Ralph Gracie. I recently contacted Laura to see if they could do a self defense class for a group of girls on my daughters softball team, a handful of which are heading off to college over the next few weeks. She and Sean were able to set up a class for us and it was absolutely awesome! Sean provided the girls with some great self defense moves. This is by far the best BJJ school in the area. Black belts Gabriel Costa and Sean Roberts are not only skilled BJJ practitioners but incredible instructors. My son had been going to this school for nearly two years and he has never had a "bad" day. There is a nice mix of kids in the kids' classes; some kids take BJJ to compete in tournaments, others do it for fitness, while many kids just take for self-defense / self confidence. Even though there are many different skill levels in each kid's class, Sean and Gabriel make it a priority that all of the kids work together to achieve their goals. The gym is clean and the mats are sanitized on a daily basis. As for the adult classes: I don't train BJJ but have met many of the adult students (they usually sit in the bleachers, with the parents of the kids, waiting for the kids class to finish). They are all very friendly with each other and some will even go out on the mat to help the kids if the kid's class is extra large. I truly can't say enough great things about this school. They have highly skilled instructors, it is a friendly environment to train in, and the mats are clean. read more

Coach Gabriel and Sean make it fun for the kids and he enjoys going. The games that they play never seem to get old for him. I love that they make it fun for the little ones. Amazing Jiujitsu This is one of the best schools that i have ever been to. there are alot of good schools but this ones great in alot of areas. not only does ralph gracie have a good amount of children and adult students that range from beginer to advance students but they also range from the casual students just wanting some good exercise to our competative mat rats who are training almost everyday. everyday i am surrounded by champion bjj practitioners. when your surounded by people always getting first place in tournaments you cant help but get good. this school has three great black belts teaching fantastic jiujitsu but i cant leave without talking about its other features. the school also provides muey thai, wrestling, and combatives (its kinda like mma and self defence). if you are into grappling i would very much suggest you come down to ralph gracie and try it out. read more

My training partners, my instructors Sean and Gabriel, and the front desk boss Laura all treated me like family. Once you are their student, they genuinely care about you and will do whatever they can to help your growth in Jiu Jitsu and as a person. I used to be very active and healthy up until my 20's. I got lazy and stuck with bad habits. I was "too tired" to really do anything other than work and go out. I had to change that. I was always interested in Brazilian jiu jitsu for a long time, but was always intimidated by it, or anything physical for that matter. Top notch jujitsu. I've been to Sean's classes and they are phenomenal. He teaches fast paced enough to keep your mind flowing but gives you enough time to drill it well. So whether you learn by having lots of techniques thrown at you or you like to take your time to work on just a couple moves, you will be able to train to fit. He will also roll with students and is great about breaking down his technique and answering any questions that you have. The owner is super cool. Ive been training Bjj for a long time, and I've trained at a lot of Bjj academies. I hadn't trained for almost a year and was really unmotivated at burnt out.
