Service was 5 stars plus. Three of us came in for pedis without appointments and they took us in, no problem. Most of the nail techs were friendly and efficient. Out of three of us, two look fantastic. Sadly, mine looks crappy...much like it would if I'd done it myself. The gentleman left polish on my skin in multiple places, and shaggy clipped/filed cuticle on the side of one toe. Pretty disappointed in my messy pedicure, but my daughters' pedis look very nice, and they're super pleased. I also got a polish change on my hands. It looks great from the top. The sides are messy because the second coat doesn't go to the edge or fully cover the first coat. I did bump and mess up my thumb...she fixed it perfectly and you can't even tell. Overall, it's a very nice nail salon and I would definitely return.

My girl Vicky KNOWS WHATS UPPP. I haven't gotten my nails done in little over a year bc the environments of most nails salons have a judgy undertone BUT Everyone in this shop was super engaging and nice!! We were visiting Seal Beach for the weekend and my bestie and I came in for pedicures on a Sunday afternoon after shopping and lunch... we were walk-ins with no reservation. Kim and her husband were so gracious and had us in the pedicure chairs after a short 10 minute wait. After the pedi, I opted for a 10 minute neck and shoulder massage by Kim... needless to say it was pure Bliss!!

I've been going to select nails for 6-7 years and I've never once been disappointed. Kim (The owner) takes care of her staff and customers. I love the energy and cleanliness. Wendy is my nail technician and is extremely talented with gel x. Tao is great with massage but whoever you decide all the techs won't disappoint :)

My favorite nail salon by a landslide (and I've been to so many nail salons in my life). I've been close to a dozen times before writing this review so believe me when I tell you- the service and quality is consistent on EVERY single visit! Inside is clean and airy. My nails have never been stronger and healthier. Kim the owner is hilarious and I always look forward to seeing her. All the staff are friendly and good at what they do. You can tell there is pride in their work. I can't say enough great things about this place, honestly.

So amazing!!! My best friend and I met up in Seal Beach for the weekend and popped in on Sunday afternoon for pedicures. We loved it! Everyone is so sweet. My pedicure was done by Jacqueline. She did a fabulous job! My toes look beautiful! I wish they had a location in Los Angeles. Kim who owns the salon with her husband was super sweet and made sure all customers had what they needed and were happy. Prices are extremely fair. I would 100% recommend and will definitely be back again.

I truly wanted to be able to write a great review. After yesterday I'm pretty upset and I spent close to $300 so that alone is horrifying considering the results. Firstly my mother and I called early at 9:30am asking to book two pedis ,1 dip powder mani & mani gelx with tips plus design at 3:30, the man said 3 was better so they could do everything and have plenty time so I agreed; I even got there early! I walked in and it was as if I had never bothered to make an appt. I sat there while they worked on my feet for an hour and a half before my nails were ever started. I came with my mother so she was done with both services and then had to wait as they had only just began having gotten the tips attatched to my nails. The man did come over and apologize of course when she had gone to use the restroom to avoid hearing her since she was the one stuck waiting. My mother's nails I heard her repeatedly yelp out in pain and even say something to be careful she's fragile. I am horrified at the bloody razor sliced up mess of her nail beds. I literally carry a natural medical grade antimicrobial cuticle balm in my purse and thank god I do she applied It once we were on our way home and it was burning. She would be full on infectious if I hadn't acted fast post our trip. She told the girl to file and next thing she knows the girl took and clipped her pinky asking this okay? Umm no but now what I can't just have one short. But that sadly was not the worst of the horrors. Not one of her once perfectly natural medium length almond shaped nails now is the same shape at all I don't even know what the fuck the shape some of those are! The dip is not even and the top gel coat is bubbled! i seriously have never seen my mother near tears over her nails this truly is a first and it really upsets me we never get to have time together and this was not the happy ending I deserved with her on our outing together! Her toes are really nice. The guy did an amazing job and even got an ingrown nail no one has been able to that was hurting her for months. So I guess small win ;I wish I had been so lucky. My pedicure how was it that it finished before her and mine was started after?riddle me that one. We both paid for the detox pedi aka the highest service one!! My feet needed serious attention why I opted for the works and should have taken longer then hers easily if starting at the same time. I should not be able to still grip and full on pull on my calluses. I shouldn't visibly be able to fuckin see them and my heels shouldn't be skin semi bubbled in some spaces. Heck the end of my toes even have calluses still! But god that's not even the kicker I was looking trying to figure out why the polish is darker and light on some areas on the same nail. The woman painted on my cuticles she never bothered to push back! The polish is coming off because she painted mostly skin covering my damn nails!!! Nails are cut at diagonals some. Cuticles underneath. Layers on sides everywhere. And that's visible not even counting what she painted over of skin.This is not acceptable at all especially when I paid top service for my feet to be covered in thick visible calluses and cuticles in various thickness layers still overtop my nail surface that she covered in paint. Maybe some people wouldn't notice but I got flexiblity i can see the bottoms of my feet up close and nails. So she picked the worst person to think I would not notice the shit job. Let alone feel the calluses like hello they are so thick they are still islands of different skin tones on my feet!!! My nails the woman Vicky was really sweet and detail oriented. My only complaint is when I showed them My design and they toured it around the entire salon mind you a half hour before I ever met Vicky so not her fault, said they can do no problem but then while in the process after she has began painting I find out that they don't have colored rhinestones which was the main feature of that design! Never have I ever been to a place that doesn't have multiple colors but to only have silver that's a first. It was too late to change designs and so I just went with the silver. Not at all in patterns like the picture but not much I could do. It is pretty but had I known at the beginning they did not have color rhinestones I would have picked a totally different design had I been told honestly at the beginning they did not have the materials to do it like the picture and then could have decided before paint was even applied to do an altered version of it or chose something else. Also paint on the ends and some sides of my nails is visibly missing and truly I felt she was feeling rushed since my mom was just there chilling and didn't do two layers the yellow really needed to not show brush strokes some paint is missing on sides of nails and the edges are not smoothed down and keep catching onto clothing being sharp. The artwork is beautiful I have more to say but I hit the Yelp word limit. .

Wow let me tell you I cannot recommend this nail salon enough! A family friend referred me and I am so happy with the service. It all starts with Kim she is so funny and creates an amazing atmosphere. I got my new gel x set done by Wendy and they are by far the best set I have gotten done. Every single nail is straight and the polish had no bubbles! I will drive down from LA now to get my nails done here. Also they have a large selection of gel polish colors and ONLY use apres gel x system.

Chunks are missing from my GEL, METALLIC polish. Had it been put on right - this shouldnt be happening.

1st time here - Paid $50 for a gel pedi & when I left all my toes were not covered/painted properly. The gal said my toes were too small. (IVE BEEN GETTIN PEDIs SINCE 6...what kind of excuse is that? Lol) So now its been less than a week and all my GEL polish isnt adhereing properly... I think it was her first time doing Chrome. She didn't put the layer on soon enough/or well enough because it all came off imiidiately. And ever since has been fading - so I dont think she set it properly either. Such a Bummer. I pay for a service & service stinks these days. Places only worry about thier higher costs...but what about the customers? We all are experiencing inflation. So if you cant provide proper service...its time to shut down. Im all for supoorting local, small business - as I own one myself. But the high prices for less than avg service has got to stop.

Their service and quality made me glad I went back to getting my nails done. My mistake was not asking what the up charge was for a strengthening treatment. I would have gotten it anyway but I didn't have sufficient cash on hand (who would think a hundred dollar bill wasn't enough) and had an awkward moment at the atm when it turns out you need a PIN number to get cash from credit card. Who knew. But lesson learned. The other great part is the Main Street people watching. The window chair on a Sunday afternoon is sublime. read more

I have been going here on and off for 25 years. The salon is clean and staff is friendly. The only disappointment was the increase in price for services and massage shorted and foot pumice on included anymore on standard pedicure. That seems like a must to me. read more

I love coming to Select Nail House in Seal Beach. I was recommended by a co-worker and it's one of my top favorite salons. They do great work and the owner, Kim, will always find a way to get you worked in when you call same day. I'm picky with my pedicures and they do a great job making sure they take care of my ingrown area. I wish this place was closer to me, I'd go more often. They're cash only so be prepared for that but they do have an atm in case you forget (like I have a couple of times) read more

Huge shout out to my girl Janet!! I've been seeing her for over 2 years and she does the best dip sets. I can go 2 to 4 weeks between appointments. My nails have gotten stronger and I keep them long thanks to the dip. Janet is so talented and did an awesome Halloween set for me in October. Ok so I'm very picky about my Pedicures I was working in the area and decided to stop in The regulars the experienced ones I will say were on the right watching u tube The gentleman checked me and gave me someone who spoke zero English This was so frustrating to communicate my gel pedicure From not knowing how to set the machine on my toes to set the gel To not understanding the shape to prepping my toes before cleaning under each nail I'm sorry she then brought someone over to finish my polish and I had to tip both I'm I like the reviews here but it's pretty clear their are only certain employees here who know how to do a great job so two stars read more

I loved how my nails turned out and the service was awesome! They were so sweet and my nails were done pretty fast. I got acrylics with gel and I was pleasantly surprised. My nails were $50 without tip. The only bad part about the salon is that they only take cash... i didn't have cash so I had to pay a $2.50 fee:( overall great experience though. read more

I have been a client here for over ten years and have always been happy with the work and service they provide. However, Kim the owner informed me after my services were complete they don't take debit or Visa cards! I never would have gone here if it was a cash only establishment. How convenient though she has her own atm machine that you can use and pay a service charge to get her cash to pay for services. I will not be going here again. read more

I'll start by stating I have never left a bad review. This is in fact my first yelp review ever! I just need to let y'all know my opinion on this business. I had visited this establishment 2 times previously. I made an appointment for my favorite person, 2 weeks prior, because I was leaving on vacation the next day. When I arrived, they assigned me a student/apprentice instead. Again I requested my person, But She was working with someone else. The manager assured me I would be satisfied. Once in the chair, the new hire didn't listen to what I said and just automatically chopped off my nails before I had a chance to say "NO"!!!! The owners even ran over and "said what are you doing" !!!!! Sadly it was to late. I had to have fake nails on my hands! I've never had fake nails in my life! My nails have always Been beautiful! Real, and fabulous! When I had the fake nails removed, 2 weeks later, There was a thin shallow base. As a result, I have scars on my face, from scratches while asleep, because of the botched job they did!!! This situation happened in the beginning of October of last year, and it still affects me. It's taken me 5 months to post this, because my nails have never healed and they bleed constantly. I thought it would be fine, but since it isn't, this needs to be said! Do not go here! Posting to warn others about their waxing services. First time here...made an appointment for two pedicures (with my daughter in law).....Everything was fine until I asked to have my eyebrows waxed. I've had my eyebrows waxed at nail places for years so I thought, what could go wrong. Waxing was more painful than I remembered but I thought, that is okay. Got in the car and saw abrasions above both my eyes, but the right was much worse. The pain/oozing started and after two hours I realized this was not normal. I called and let them know that this person should be trained to not hurt anyone else. The owner said she would refund my waxing costs. Now I have scabs and TODAY I checked my account and the funds have not been refunded. read more

I decided to give this spot a chance and they did not let me down. I live in Santa Ana but I will come back because everyone was so nice and the nails look amazing. Prices, customer service and quality of work was excellent for a manicure and pedicure. The place is clean, covid guidelines are followed and the women are so sweet. Nothing but compliments and happiness from all the staff, very welcoming. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. It all came out beautiful, I felt very well taken care of and relaxed with the nice massage chairs. The salon is also gorgeous, very well done. I was vacationing from Flagstaff, AZ and I plan to come back to this place every time. $30 gel manicure, $27 pedicure. Thank you select nail house. read more

I have going here for years. Never had a problem or issue. Kim and her girls are super nice and are up to date on all the latest trends. The shop carrys OPI which is awesome!! Prices have gone up a little due to their expansion of the shop. Well worth it!!! read more

I've been coming here since the year 2000 so for 18 years and I can't believe I haven't done a review yet. This place is great, clean and friendly. The staff is always accommodating and so nice. I've referred many people here and they are always happy with the service also. They not only do nails but very affordable massages. Feet, neck and shoulder are all so relaxing. My regular technician has moved on so the owner put me with kimchi. I love kimchi- she's very funny and direct. I get a certain type of fill that's hard to find, silk fills are usually no body's favorite to do. I'm allergic to everything else so it's all I can get. I had my last fill probably March 1st or 2nd before the lockdown on the 18th. I have to say that I've only had 3 break after a month and a few weeks of deep cleaning my house because there's nothing else to do. Kimchi is a rockstar!!! Everyone was so nice and welcoming and it was a super clean, sleek place. However, my nail broke after only three days. :,( $75 + tip and they didnt make it through the weekend :(. Looking at them, they are very flat and there is no apex to add some strength and keep them from breaking. The design was also a bit messy. I wish they would have told me they weren't experienced with this design and it would be too difficult. My nails took 2 and a half hours and I was charged $25 for the design alone (basically the price of a pedicure). I don't think that's an absurd price for how long it took but again I wish I would have known it was too difficult because I would have just gotten another design. I got this design at a different place before and it was done well, more quickly, etc. so I thought it was a trendy and common design that all places could do. I'd come back but maybe for a pedicure or gel manicure. read more

Ann did an amazing job on my nails! I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted and she helped me understand my options even though I was hesitant. I knew I wanted ombré but wasn't sure if I wanted dip or acrylic so she offered to do one nail the way she recommended I do my nails and let me decide. I ended up going with her recomendaron and love it! Thanks Ann!! read more

This is the place to go for POWDER GELS with JANET! Janet does beautiful work and an excellent job. I recently moved from gels to powder gels. Powder gels are at a great price, they keep my nails healthier and last longer than regular gels. Ask for JANET! Also, I love getting my pedicure from ANN! KIM is the manager. Okay so I'm EXTREMELY picky about my nails. It's very difficult for me to really trust in nail salons because there's always something wrong, whether it's pricing, nail design, how rough they are with my nails, or how uncomfortable I feel based on the attitudes of the techs. However, I have seriously fallen in love with this place. Their service is great. They make me feel like family every time I come in. Their salon is clean, organized, spacious, and their massage chairs make me melt every time. Their pricing is totally affordable, and their nails have turned out perfect EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Without fail. I have yet to have this nail tech, but they have a tech who specializes in designs for acrylic nails. My roommate has requested her and is in love with her nails. 100000000000% recommend this place!! read more

Poor customer service and poor execution of service. Lily is the only one that takes her time and does a good job. Don't waste your time or money. I came out of there feeling like the woman hated me and with a horrible manicure and mediocre pedicure. They had me pay in advance and didn't care if I was satisfied with the service or not. Nails chipped today already and my bridal shower is tomorrow. I guess I'll be going some place else to try and salvage my mani. read more

Kim's shop has always been my family's go-to salon when we're in town. Today Ivy fixed a couple of broken nails and did dipping powder on all my nails to strengthen them.. my nails only better! And Nancy gave me a fabulous massage during my pedicure. read more

First, I have tried this salon twice now (so that you don't have to) and have been dissatisfied on both occasions. The second occasion has made me mad enough to write this review. Also, I get my nails done every 3 weeks routinely (always dip on my natural nail, always the same shape) and have never experienced such unprofessional conduct until I tried this salon. --Bad Quality: I asked for extremely natural color and shape. First time I went, the shape was fine but the dip did not last more than 5 days before it started "crumbling"/breaking near the tip. I work so I couldn't get back to the salon to address this and decided to give them one more chance. I gave them this second chance when I went back less than 2 weeks after the first visit. This second visit, the nail tech (Natalie) said she would do an extra layer of dip (total of 3 layers) to make sure it didn't crumble/break as fast (since dip usually lasts me 3 weeks without breaking)--she did the 3 layers and my nails were extremely thick/globby. She fixed the thickness a little bit with the drill but they were still SO much thicker than any other nail salon I've been to (all other salons have done 3 layers and still managed to make them look natural/not so thick/globby). 4 days later, I've already had one of the extremely thick ones break/crumble--I say "crumble" because it is not a clean break like you'd expect, it's literally crumbling off--this means whatever process they are using to dip is not good bc clearly the chemical agents are not activating properly. --Unprofessional Response: I called the second it broke (4 days later on Monday) and asked if they could fix it after work at 5:30 PM (their business hours are listed as being open until 7PM--they told me that I could "come now" (in the middle of my work day) to which, I told them I could not come before 5:30 any week day since I work full time. They told me that they wouldn't be open at 5:30 and that they'd close at 3 today bc they didn't have any more appointments scheduled to make them stay open until 7PM (their listed business hours). They told me that I could come at 5Pm on Thursday to get fixed. I cannot wait that long as the nail is snagging my clothes. They offered no other accommodation despite me explaining that I work M-F and they offered no explanation as to why their publicly listed business hours were not accurate. I would have never chosen this salon had I known that its listed business hours were not accurate since I work and always look for a salon with later availability in case needed. Their response was not only unprofessional, but their tone on the phone was "annoyed" that I would even ask them to fix the crappy job that they did to begin with. I will not be going back and recommend that you look elsewhere if you don't want your dip to crumble or nails to look like thick-globs.

I came before leaving for a tropical vacation to get a fun green mani-pedi, and was able to walk in for an appointment and be accommodated immediately. I forget the names of my nail technicians (sorry!) but both of them were very thorough and did a great job with my hard gel manicure and gel pedicure, respectively. Special shout out to their large comfy massage chairs, which gave me a much needed full back massage, to complete the whole spa experience. Two weeks out from my manicure, I continue to get compliments on my nails, a testament to their work. Please note they take credit card, but try to bring cash for tip, some of the technicians take Zelle as well!

Today I decided to take a little break from the acrylics and was shocked at how strong, long and actually healthy my own nails are, a true testament to the care Holly placed on my nails every time I came in for a fill. I will never come back to this establishment again. My mother and I have been loyal customers for years now and most recently I have been made to bleed with no apologies or adjustments to the bill to compensate. I have most recently been called a "baby" (I'm 32) and even when I stated that I did not appreciate that, the women working with me continued to laugh and repeat themselves. I called yesterday to speak with the owner and was barked at by the manager asking why I wanted to speak with her. Finally, I simply asked when she would be in next and he said tomorrow evening. Tonight I called, asking for her again, was barked at further, interrupted, talked over, and eventually hung up on. I was calling to let her know that we wouldn't be coming back and explain why, as I have great respect for her both as a woman and a business owner. Proceed with caution attending this place and avoid the manager at all costs. read more

I have been coming here for years in fact the owner did my grandmas nails 27 years ago at her house right before she passed away. I have never had a issue before and in fact if I didn't live so far away I would never go any where else. I am giving this place a 3 stars because they are so pushy on selling extra stuff (longer message, neck message, design, calus removal). I was in there a few weeks ago with my aunt and was hackle for 10 minutes to do a extra message... they wouldn't take NO for a answer, especially since my aunt opted for a longer message. And because I said no the lady messaged my legs for about a minute (not exaggerating). I want to be able to go in and relax not defend my self again the pressure to pay more. And to top it off my mani/pedi didn't even last a week! The place is well kept and clean. A little pricey! read more

I recently moved to another state, but before I left, I went to get a mani/pedi here. The first manicure I ever got was here around 1990-1991. I didn't get another manicure for about a year, but when I went back, Kim remembered me by name and welcomed me in for a walk-in mani. After that, I was a loyal patron. I will genuinely miss coming here. Kim is one of the hardest working people I know and she makes sure the people who work for her are providing the same level of care and quality she's provided since the beginning. read more

1st - heads-up, cash only! They do have an atm inside. Three of us went for pedicures and while I don't remember my technician's name, all 3 techs were professional and helpful. There wasn't a lot of pushy upselling, either. I went the day before I was leaving for a trip to Europe. For 3 weeks I had shoes on and off, toes covered, open toe sandals, toes in the sand, running all around, sweating, etc. and my pedi held up through it all! I will definitely go back :) read more
