Hoping I found my new go-to nail place! Long Beach Nails & Spa is located in the shopping plaza across from 2nd and PCH, and apparently recently had a big renovation. I didn't get to see what it looked like before, but the end result is a spacious, bright and airy salon that invites you to kick back, relax and get your pamper on. I came before leaving for a tropical vacation to get a fun green mani-pedi, and was able to walk in for an appointment and be accommodated immediately. I forget the names of my nail technicians (sorry!) but both of them were very thorough and did a great job with my hard gel manicure and gel pedicure, respectively. Special shout out to their large comfy massage chairs, which gave me a much needed full back massage, to complete the whole spa experience. Two weeks out from my manicure, I continue to get compliments on my nails, a testament to their work. This was my first time coming here and I made an appointment for 10:30. I had an appointment next door at Sev Laser at 11:30, so I figured a 10:30 appointment would be perfect. I show up, and 6 different people all have appointments for 10:30 and they are already very busy. They take everyone except me first. I wait for 20 minutes before they tell me it'll still be another 15 minutes. I had to leave, and I'm leaving for vacation right after this, so now I won't have my nails done. They apologized, but it was still very disappointing :( read more

This was one of the best pedicures and nail salon experience I EVER had in my life. Everyone was so kind and attentive. And it's so beautiful on the inside! Luxurious really. Selena is so kind and really takes her time in making sure you enjoy the service you pay for. I got the matcha and milk and it was a 10/10. And Haley works so fast but so good! Additionally, I told the tech I wanted medium length, but she cut them too short without asking me first. The Gel X got on my fingertips and burned my skin in the UV lamp. I came in to get my arms and hands waxed. I was quoted $30 up front for both arms and told it would be extra for my hands. After the service, I was told it would be $10 extra for EACH hand. They did a good job, but I wish I had been warned about the full cost ahead of time. I should have confirmed the total, but I didn't expect the hands to be that much. I felt a bit misled, and because of this I won't be returning. If you aren't concerned about price, I would recommend this salon since it's clean, convenient, has easy parking, and seems popular. Just be sure to confirm the total price before your service so you don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I've been coming here for years, they've never done such a horrible job. I came in asking for a new set of acrylic nails. They talked me into gel x builder (despite me saying I wanted acrylic, I preferred acrylic, I was used to acrylic) they insisted gel x builder was better. then proceeded to create the WORSE set of nails I've ever had in my life. The tips were wrongly attached so there were huge gaps between my nail and the gel builder which they just filled in with more gel creating overly thick nails. And because the tips were too curved it didn't reach the sides of the nail so that part was left exposed then filed down painfully leaving my fingers sore and fragile on the edges. Yes the design was cute but the application was TERRIBLE. When I got home I was nearly in tears so my husband called to say I was returning to have them removed. They said no. They were booked. Told me to come back in two days. No apology, no concern. I went somewhere else to have them removed the same day. Then I went back and requested a refund. They refunded $50 out of $126 ($20 was tip). So here's my last review and it's the last time I'll ever go to this salon. I'm honestly heartbroken. read more

This Nail Salon is for Older woman who get 1 color on the natural nail and toes. I had 3 nail tech services me and not 1 of them had the ability to do FRENCH TIP. I asked for a full set nails and toes, I had OLD acrylic on my toes. They told me it would $110 just for the removal and new set of acrylic toes with French tip. NO ONE SAID "WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO FRENCH/WE DON'T DO FRENCH OFTEN" they said Okay', no problem. I don't do nails I don't know how to explain what exactly I want if it doesn't have a name. I like a medium length narrow coffin I showed a picture they look at it so quickly and said "got it" every time just to royally fuck it up. My nails look like she wanted to to stiletto then flattened the tip. They convinced me Gel X would be faster although she could see how damaged my nails were. Why as a professional would you not prioritize the integrity of the nails, and place my sore fingers under a hot ass light. My fingers are still burning! And she said YES IT IS NORMAL FOR IT TO BURN! You can see through the pink polish streaks on my toes, exposing the three tones of acrylic since they refused to soak me off. Each nail is shaped differently. As the pedicure was done and the tech was about to start the spa I refused. I said no worries I will do that myself because I was ready to go. A new tech starts on the French on my nails shows one finger and I said that's good, 9 fingers later every single French tip is DIFFERENT! There's ripples in the polish she keeps having to file and paint over and patience wore thin. I planned to take it as a lesson, pay without tipping and leave silently but they saw the pain on my face and asked if I was okay and I told her that I do not like my nails in a very calm sweet voice quietly the tech raises her tone and says "I showed you and said it was okay!" I said ma'am look at every finger.. you showed me 1.. does this look like the picture you said "got it" to? The shape the colors or the French? She huffs and puffs and starts filing the French off I said no, no worries love. Just stop I'd like to leave she said you don't wanna do 1 color or something I said no I do French I've been getting French for 7 years and you guys told me you could do it and you can't; so no thank you. I was charged $150 and left mad at myself for not waiting 24 hours until Top Coat Nails & Lashes Opened Tuesday but I wanted to look pretty for 4/20 which did not happen thanks to Long Beach Nails & Spa. This is the second time to this nail salon and I requested gel x nails and gel pedicure. Megan did my nails and I didn't like how some of my nails of my right hand turn out. The middle nail has some bubbles and not painted enough on the other nail, the side of the nails looks weird and can see it lifted near the cuticle on my right thumb. Amy did a great work on my gel pedicure - I chose the luxury package which was $50 and when I was paying, she told me it was $65 and I asked isn't it $50? she said because of the gel cream too, I don't mind paying the extra $15 but I would have liked if she asked me first if I wanted the gel cream or not instead of finding out at the end. read more

1 Star | Absolutely Horrifying Experience - Left in Tears I had one of the most embarrassing and upsetting experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. I came in hoping to treat myself to a deluxe manicure and pedicure after a long, stressful week. Instead, I left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. My pedicure was done by a tech named Hailey. I repeatedly asked her to clean my cuticles, but there was a language barrier, and it was clear she wasn't doing it correctly. Other staff members huddled around watching her a staff step in to correct her technique. Approximately 5 staff were huddled around me which made me feel even more uncomfortable. I respectfully asked if another tech could take over, but I was told she couldn't be switched because she had already started. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I stayed quiet. As the massage portion began, Hailey walked away multiple times during the timer to clean up the salon, wasting my paid massage time. Still, I stayed silent and tried to relax. Before she began painting my toes, I once again asked (probably for the 10th time) if she could clean up the dead skin around my toe. The owner overheard and came over. I calmly pointed to the area causing discomfort--a flap of skin rubbing against my big toe--and she raised her voice, telling me to "go to the doctor" and that she couldn't remove the dead skin as it because it might bleed. She said I needed surgery for that.( I was blown away by her comment as I have a medical background and know this isn't true. Also, I was paying nearly $200 dollars for such a poor quality service) but more than anything I was absolutely blown away by the lack of professionalism. The owners tone was loud and demeaning. I could not believe the owner of the salon was speaking in such vulgar manner!! I've never experienced such behavior before. The owner of the salon became visibly upset, asking me if I still wanted to continue or leave. I was flushed, humiliated, and just wanted to get out, so I said to finish it just to avoid more confrontation. Once the owner left another tech later came and acknowledged the issue with my toe, saying she could fix it, but at that point I was so embarrassed and ready to burst into tears. So I respectfully I ask her to stop the service as I was ready to go home. Before leaving, I asked to speak with the owner once again privately to calmly explain how her public outburst embarrassed me. I asked that she please refrain from speaking to me in such manner. Instead of apologizing for her irrational behavior and hearing me out or asking what had happen she began to shout at me outside of the salon, telling me never to come back!! Her voice was so loud that everyone inside stopped and turned to look. I stayed calm, never raised my voice, and never disrespected any staff member. Yet I was treated like I had done something wrong for simply speaking up about the poor quality of service!! As a woman of color, I truly felt like I was being dismissed and mistreated from the moment I spoke up. I didn't ask for a discount--I paid $185without hesitation. All I wanted was quality service and to feel safe and respected. This was my first visit to this salon since moving to Belmont Shore, and it will absolutely be my last. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially not in a place meant for relaxation and self-care. read more
