I have been on oxygen therapy 24-7 ever since. This last winter I went to Banner Hospital emergency room.My pulmonologist is with banner, so I thought it might serve me best. The ER was quite busy, and there was quite a wait. But fairly soon, they took me deeper into the hospital. And left me to wait in a large hallway, amongst other patients. I brought with me, from home, my little personal oxygen concentrator, and an extra battery. But eventually I ran down both batteries. Thankfully, I noticed an abandoned oxygen bottle in the hallway, as there was no nurse In sight! So being familiar with the process as I was, I just hooked myself up and told the nurse so! Finally, I was informed that my lung which had collapsed three weeks prior, had reinflated. And that I must've caught another bad cold. But as yet pneumonia was not indicated. I was so happy to hear that I had not come down with pneumonia a third time that winter. And after hours of waiting, I could finally go home and eat. It took me a minute to realize the bottle of oxygen I'd borrowed had run out. But as I was being discharged, I requested another bottle to make it out to my truck. But I was told firmly by the nurse that I could not use another bottle! As she pointed with her finger, the direction I was to go. By the time I made it to the parking lot, after getting lost. I felt dizzy and faint as I cried and fumbled with my personal oxygen concentrator and charger. Trying to get it running as fast as I could. While feeling so sick, and knowing already, the right side of my heart is enlarged due to lacking oxygen in the past. After a couple days to recoup, I contacted the hospital and made a formal complaint. I felt sure a change would be made, and an apology was expected. I mean, I have a prescription saying I needed 4 L of oxygen 24 hours a day seven days a week. Yet Banner Hospital has informed me that that's how they do business. I will never ever go anywhere, but Tucson Medical Center again. I'm here to tell you the truth and to say stay away from Banner Hospital. They suck.

I tried to schedule my second shingles…read morevaccine, only to discover that it can't be done through the MyChart app. The app instructs you to call, but the phone number listed there is incorrect, so we had to search online for the correct number. When we finally called, the recording said they were short-staffed and suggested sending a message through MyChart instead. We chose to stay on the line (because how do you schedule an appointment in an email), and after one full hour, we still hadn't moved up in the queue. Scheduling a simple vaccine shouldn't be this difficult. It's disappointing that accessing basic healthcare services requires this much time and effort. This experience has left me questioning the level of customer service and health care TMC provides.

I was told we had three days to move my sister to hospice or they would remove her!And after two days, while we frantically called every hospice facility on the hospital's recommended list,Dr. Fortuna and their hospice coordinator, Noreen, became rude, borderline aggressive, w/lharassing me about moving to hospice.The last week of my sister's life had little dignity. It was unnecessarily stressful.A minor observation: their bed linens were ripped and disgusting. And no one should encourage a dying woman to get some rest while leaving a bright fluorescent light on her face!

A friend on westside of Tucson said that confidence was not experienced at the west Carondelet St. Mary's hospital but I didn't hear the details who , what , when, & why ,respectfully . That said it was very clean efficient , and parking was easy . A large parking tower is located to the south & north side of Carondelet Dr.to enter Surgery outpatient , turn immediately north of the parking structure on east side .

BEWARE!! My family and I had the unfortunate experience of…read moredealing with St. Mary's Hospital during my mother's week-long hospitalization. From the beginning, there were significant communication failures between the medical team and our family. My mother was critically ill and often unable to advocate for herself, making clear communication even more important. One interaction with "Dr.G" summarizes many of our concerns. After performing my mother's emergency surgery, he briefly updated my sister and me. The conversation felt rushed, he did not introduce himself to me, and he seemed unwilling to answer our questions. I left with more questions than answers. Following surgery, my mother experienced a reaction to the anesthetic gas. Although rare, this is a documented part of her medical history. Recovery nurses informed me she would likely remain intubated for 12-24 hours because of the reaction. When I later discussed this with "Dr. G", he insisted no one knew about her history. After I explained that the nurses had already informed me, the discussion became argumentative. Rather than addressing my concerns, he appeared to blame the nursing staff, became visibly frustrated, and rolled his eyes. Even more concerning, multiple providers seemed unfamiliar with my mother's most significant medical history. She underwent a highly specialized surgery for a rare disease about 20 years ago while in her 30s, yet several providers, including "Dr. G", repeatedly insisted the surgery had occurred when she was a child. It was alarming to feel like her medical records had either not been obtained or not been thoroughly reviewed. Because of our concerns, we met with Jayne, the hospital's patient advocate and risk manager. She assured us "Dr. G" would no longer be managing my mother's care aside from one final postoperative visit. However, over the next four days he continued entering my mother's room, arguing with her about her medical history, making negative comments about our family, and having a verbal disagreement with my brother, who is her medical power of attorney. We were also told he continued making changes to her treatment plan despite saying he was no longer directing her care. Over the weekend there was no apparent follow-through on the concerns we had raised. After my mother's hospitalization, I also left Jayne a voicemail and, five days later, I have still not received a return call. Another incident that deeply concerned us involved my mother's hydration. She had already been severely dehydrated from an intestinal obstruction. After being transferred from the ICU, her orders stated she could have nothing by mouth--not even ice chips. About 12 hours later, I discovered she was still receiving no IV fluids despite being unable to drink. When I asked the nurse, she said she was still waiting for the internist to update the treatment plan. My mother had effectively gone 12 hours without oral intake or IV hydration while waiting for clarification. I understand hospitals are busy and medicine is complex. However, patients and families deserve respectful communication, providers who are familiar with a patient's medical history, and coordinated care between physicians and nursing staff. Unfortunately, our experience at St. Mary's consistently fell far short of those expectations.

Get more staff that care for their patients I had surgery here and it was not a good experience…read morenurse Carolyn was not very kind not to me or to other patients. The best nurse was Isabel and the tech Ray was amazing. Only reason why I'm putting two stars the food was horrendous as you'll see from the photos. I would definitely NOT recommend this facility. The level of care was marginal at best. My husband…read moredeveloped bed sores and pneumonia twice while staying there. He was rarely cleaned, and staff were supposed to clean his mouth before meals, but that was never done unless I did it myself. If I arrived later in the morning, his meal would often be left sitting in his room with no one helping feed him. Staff were also supposed to reposition him every two hours, but that never happened. There were many times I left in the evening and returned the next morning to find him in the exact same position. The response time to call buttons was unacceptable, often taking 20 to 30 minutes. One time, his feeding tube alarm went off for almost two hours before anyone responded. At night, staff would sometimes simply turn the feeding tube off so they would not have to monitor it. Overall, the neglect and lack of proper care were extremely upsetting and deeply disappointing. I would not trust this facility with the care of a loved one.

They took my bf to an operation room by mistake. HOW SCARY! Thankfully one of the doctors called him by his last name and that's when they realized they had a wrong patient. SMH Now I'm trying to make an appointment for him for some testing and they can't make it because the doctor put an order in for wrong thing and they can't make an appointment until that is corrected. It has been a few days already since I first called. I don't event want to give one star but nurses that took care of him during his stay were extremely kind and did their job well so they deserve the star. They definitely need more help though. It seemed very understaffed. Avoid if you can! Unfortunately, this was the closest ER for us.

Dr, Dodman was so patient and kind to me. She walked into the procedure room with a big smile on her face and just made me very comfortable. UPDATE: My symptoms continued to get so bad that I ended up in a different ER after moving states a…read moreday later and was admitted to another hospital. I was crying and yelling so hard from the pain I was in, that I had to be put on Dilaudid, Valium, Decadron, and Morphine - along with different types of GI cocktails. It was the ONLY relief I'd had since all of this started. I couldn't swallow food or water for multiple more days after my horrible visit at Oro Valley ER because they did absolutely NOTHING to take care of me. This other hospital though, went the extra mile with everything they did and ensured I was as comfortable as possible, did an endoscopy (and found that my esophagus is very chemically burned), kept me on IV fluids, and IV pain meds for a few days until I was able to go home. Plus I was sent home with MULTIPLE prescriptions to help me heal and minimize the severe pain. If you find yourself in Portland, OR - Providence St. Vincent's is a #1 ER/hospital. Oro Valley? I couldn't have asked for a worse experience. Get your shit together and take care of your patients.
