What a great shop! As I sit here writing this I'm wearing two items I purchased there at my last visit. It is full of the whole range of clothing for women as well as shoes and bags and other accessories. It is laid out in sizes and styles (tops versus sweaters etc). It has quite a few racks but seems well spaced, but it might be hard to navigate if you have mobility challenges. There are no steps leading into the store however so that is great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are several spacious fitting rooms as well as a bathroom (for those shopping after a coffee break)! I loved their sales items which gave me some great deals, but I was also able to get some fun nicer stuff outfits for friends and pick up some gifts. I've been back a few times and love just browsing. It is a great spot for slightly used but well maintained items. Often too I've come home with brand new things with original tags still attached! I would highly recommend this option for those wanting to save on brand new purchases but get some good options. I felt as if I was helping to prevent clothing waste as well as being a good financial steward! A fun shop! read more

The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. They have an amazing assortment of women's clothes, designer handbags, jewelry, shoes and even a small collection of housewares. you can buy instore or online. They have several FB lives each day showing off different items. I consign with them frequently and then turn around and use my credits to buy more. Their prices are reasonable and they even have sales regularly for certain colored tags or certain types of items. They offer sizes from XS-4X. The store has ample parking, a restroom and three dressing rooms. They have a huge tent sale each August outside the store. Fill a bag for $10! read more

Selective Seconds is one of those consignment stores where, when you walk in, you know you're going to walk out with something. I walked out with four somethings: a denim shirt, a sweater, a workout shirt and a dress. The clothing is well curated and in very good shape. In fact, I would say that most things are new or NWT (new with tags). This isn't a thrift store where you'll be rummaging through bins of faded and misshapen old clothes. These are clothes that are in very good condition. And the price reflects the quality: You'll pay $25 for an Eileen Fisher blouse, but it's Eileen Fisher and probably cost three times as much. Also: I found a lot of Eileen Fisher items here. Also: You will just find women's clothing here. This store has lots of clothing, but also shoes, purses, accessories, and even housewares like mirrors, decorations and knickknacks. The women who work here are also super friendly and helpful, and the whole store just has a warm and welcoming vibe. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Greenwood area. read more

I've been going to Selective Seconds for years... but for about the last 6 months, something has definitely changed. Each time I visit, employees seem to be inconvenienced with any questions you may have and seriously unfriendly overall. Prices have also noticeably gone up as well. I really appreciate the consignment business model, mainly from an environmental perspective. A family member recommended I try this biz to resell some of my gently worn clothing. I arrived within their hours of walk in service, but was advised that the buyer went to lunch and it could be around a half hour wait. I had about a half an hour before I needed to leave for another appt, so ok. I mentioned that I had another appointment on the other side of town and the employee said they would get to it as soon as possible. So I browsed around. This store had a nice variety of merchandise, from household decor to shoes, dress clothes, casual wear, jeans, jewelry/accessories and purses. I spotted a pair of Joe's jeans for $19! I have too many jeans in general though, so sadly had to pass them by. In about 10 mins, the attendant I had talked to called me back. I was somewhat surprised that she only accepted three of my items, and I was offered $5 cash or $7 store credit. I wish I would have asked why the other items weren't selected...I buy moderately priced brands like the Loft, Old Navy, Black House White Market, etc. Perhaps they had too many winter items? I've both bought and sold items at Selective Seconds. As a buyer: The selection is really impressive. There's a lot to look through, even in plus sizes. The organization of the store can be a little confusing at first, but once you understand the layout it's easy to find what you're looking for. The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of the items they carry, but be sure to double check before purchasing. I have on occasion gotten an item home only to find small stains or frayed hems. Because of the nature of the business you can't return things, so be sure you LOVE something before plunking down your cash for it. As a seller: I really love that they log your items into an online inventory system. That way you can keep track of what has or hasn't sold. And when you've sold enough items that make it worth heading in to claim your money they will pay you cash right out of the register. If you accumulate enough money in your account they will mail you out a check, but I generally use my account balance as in-store credit. The drop off hours (Tues, Wed, Thurs 10am - 6pm) are little difficult to get to if you work a 9-5, which has made it difficult recently for me to drop off things here to sell. Overall I really like shopping here. I can find work and casual clothes here that are in really good condition, or even with the tags still on them. I recently started a new job that required me to upgrade my wardrobe and I was able to do so here without breaking the bank. read more

On some weekends I like to take a break from school work and browse around vintage/consignment shops. We were going to be down in Greenwood, and so I looked up consignment shops online. I found this shop was nearby the other place we were going. Finding this store was a little tricky; I had driven past this little strip mall several times trying to find Selective Seconds. The sign on the building just says "Consignments" so that threw me off. Inside the shop you'll find lots of gently used clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry (all reasonably priced). I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I found some Aldo flats that were never worn for $8 and two infinity scarves (yes, I realize it's about 80 degrees outside, but it was a deal!) from the Hollister for $10. I will definitely be back without the fiancé so I can spend more time looking around. :P read more

This is a great thrift store for high-quality women's wear. The only high-end a purse I own is a classic Coach bag that I got for just $35! The plus-size offerings are a little Limited, but the ones they do have our quality pieces. I feel like their trade in offers are fair. They are always forthcoming and explain why they do not take a piece. read more

I have tried twice to sell my Business Casual Clothes, I am retired from a financial institution so my clothes are from Macy's, Lane Bryant, Nordstrom's and Brianna's Boutique, very nice clothes and the same sales person refused my clothes stating that they could not sell my clothes as no one dresses for work anymore?? Maybe if you worked at Walmart or a bar so obviously she has not worked in a professional atmosphere, I am so disappointed and the owner of this shop should be aware of her employee and how she treats people!!! I looked around the shop and the clothes that I brought in were of a much higher quality than they are selling. I definitely do not recommend this establishment. read more

I absolutely loved this consignment shop! It was the first place that popped up when I searched for thrift shops on google. There were two $2 & $5 racks outside and found a lot of good items there! Inside is very neat, clean, & organized. It's not hard at all to find what section and size you're looking for. Ended up leaving with two shirts and a pair of jean, all reasonably priced! This is by far my favorite consignment shop! I live in Mooresville so it's a bit of a drive-but always worth it. I love the way this store is set up-look on top of each rack for a little chalkboard sign that let's you know exactly what you'll find there. I never leave empty handed! The selection is always changing--check back often. They also carry great handbags, shoes & accessories. Staff is very helpful & knowledgeable. I think this place is great if you're buying. I've never consigned there so I can't comment on that. However, I took some clothing in to sell and will never do so again. Even for designer items that were never worn and still had price tags of $70 and higher on them, they only offered $1.50 for each item. I declined and sold them on ebay instead. read more

I have been wanting to go to this store for some time now. Heard by word of mouth is was awesome. Well, I just left there and loved it. All kinds of anything and everything you would want. It was a little higher but worth it. Very clean, PR was excellent and the sales were better than great! I definitely look forwarding to going back when I have more time and am by myself. This shop makes Plato's look good. Not fair on assessment of clothes. Took in name brand expensive clothes, some never worn, and they didn't take them. Their selection isn't very good either. Clothing selection doesn't appeal to younger age group. I'd choose elsewhere. read more

For shopping? Maybe. I've been to other comparable resale/consignment shops with a better range of pricing. A quick look through the rack while I was waiting for the items I brought to sell to be looked over seemed like average pricing for shirts was about $10-14. Seemed a bit high on some items when I can go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and spend that much or just a little more on something brand new. To be fair, I only looked at the shirts. I don't live close to the store, so I chose not to consign. Based on what I brought (all of which was purchased last summer and fall-in like new condition) I was offered $20 cash or $25 store credit. Not worth it but I made the drive up to check it out. I could have said no, but I chose to take the money. I had 9 items-3 dresses-one very nice for a formal occasion, 2 casual, a pair of denim capris and 5 pairs of shorts. I wasn't expecting a lot for what I brought, but there seems no rhyme or reason for what they pay you. I absolutely wouldn't consider selling to them again. I could have saved the drive and sold them at a yard sale for the same price. read more
