If you are looking for nicer men's apparel like a suit for a wedding, this is an excellent place to shop. The store feels luxurious when you walk in but also approachable. It isn't huge but has the wide array of items from suits and toes to hats and shoes. Keep in mind it is a consignment shop so nothing is returnable. So I recommend either being certain or trying it on to guarantee satisfaction. I loved the suit I picked for my husband but sadly the measurements we had were off and it doesn't fit. It was disappointing as we need a suit for an upcoming wedding. But I understand the policy. This the warning to try it on in the store! I'd go back (with him this time) and look again as they did have nice items. I was told I could also consign the item with them but that seems like a lot of extra work. My experience is that there are a lot of consignment shops around Indianapolis that have women's clothing, but not as many that have men's clothing. Newman & Company exclusively sells men's clothing. You'll find formal wear, street wear, sweaters and hoodies, t-shirts, jackets and coats, jeans and pants and slacks, shoes, belts and accessories here. The shop is well curated, and all you'll see on the racks are straight-up hits. I visited with hoodies in mind. I was shopping for my teenage son. I really didn't know what to expect from this consignment store, but I found way more than I imagined! My son wears a man's size in sweatshirts, so I found a large variety of hoodies and sweatshirts that he might like. Keep in mind that this is a store for adults, so sizes start at adult small, which is actually pretty big. There are no children's clothing sizes here. I walked away with three hoodies, and because they were gifts, I obviously didn't try them on. Although, if I wanted to, there are changing rooms in the store. Be aware that all purchases are final. No returns! The service is top-notch. The people who work here are friendly and ready to help, but will also hang back and let you do your thing if you don't need them. When it came time to check out, they neatly folded my clothing as if it was their own. They have a no-bag policy, so be prepared to carry your clothing out sans bag. I'm also the guy who's stupid enough to purchase new cars. My closest friend at work is a dapper man - a true dandy. I approached him one day and inquired into the fortune he must spend on his wardrobe. He quickly told me about Newman & Company, saying he hardly spent a dime on his clothing. Not long after, my father told me about a cashmere blazer he purchased second-hand. Where? Newman & Company, of course. Newman & Company is located in Broad Ripple, and it's a sizable store. Clothing is sold on a consignment basis, thus each piece is curated. The shop is very well organized, and they have just about everything a man would want: casual clothing, dress shirts and pants, suits, blazers, sweaters, and coats. They also carry a wide selection of ties, some shoes, and a few hats. Aside from clothing, motorcycle gear, jewelry, home decor, and other men's accoutrements are available. Newman & Company's entire inventory is listed on their website. I've been to the Newman & Company many times, and I've purchased multiple designer shirts, a Ralph Lauren blazer, and some Brooks Brothers and Polo pullovers. I'm more than impressed. Most of the pieces I've purchased have been very lightly worn - if at all. The clothes are all clean, wrinkle-free, and unstained. It's not like shopping at Goodwill. Walked in and brought items in for consignment. First off, I'd never buy any items in this store because most can be found at TJ Maxx and brand new for the same price. But I drive 20 minutes to bring some items in to see what they're about for consignment. All of the items I brought in were from Nordstrom, most made in France and Italy. Got the consignment agreement which states that if not sold within 90 days they can either give it back with me driving back or they can donate in order to let them get a tax break which was first red flag. Then they don't ever tell you when items are sold, you have to check on their website which means you have to still keep checking their site which is second red flag. Third red flag was they take no responsibility for the items you gave them while in their store. If you're looking to sell quality pre-worn clothing I'd suggest Postmark. This is an upgraded Goodwill at the very best. read more

My friend and I were wandering around Broad Ripple one rainy morning and we stumbled across this men's consignment shop. We were intrigued and really just killing time so we went in. It was cold and rainy so I made a beeline for the jackets and fleeces. We ended up having a blast trying jackets and accessories. The prices were fair, condition of items was wonderful, and they had some really cool and unique finds! I make it a point to shop secondhand whenever I can- I appreciate how doing this helps the environment, costs less, and leads you to own items that not everyone and their mom is walking around wearing. I think I saw mention that some of the shop's proceeds go to charity, so that's a huge bonus in my mind, too. I ended up buying the world's softest sweatshirt and my friend got a pullover. I would highly recommend this shop- specifically for men, but open-minded women might be able to find something fun, as well! read more

Brought my son in here to shop for clothes for a new job. The store was very clean and well organized. The clothing prices are higher than Goodwill but the quality of the clothing is better with more name brand items. They also had sale items scattered throughout the store and a rack outside that was 75% off. They had sunglasses, hats, ties, and belts in addition to clothing. I also saw a few bike or motorcycle helmets up on a shelf above the clothes. There was also a good number of dress shoes. They had many three piece suits so this would be a good place to come and get a good price if it is something you are looking for for an event. read more

I stumbled into Newman & Co during small business Saturday. I had never heard of them, and was surprised to see all they had to offer. What a great resource for the Indianapolis community! I think all too frequently consignment shops are only for women. There are a ton of men's clothes in here from professional wear to casual. Brought a few men's items here to consign and my first impression was, "Wow! This place is really nice!" It's very organized and clean and I have to say, it smelled really, really good in there! The consignment process was pretty easy and efficient. They don't offer cash upfront like some stores do. They follow a traditional consignment model and send you a link to portal where you can check the status of your items. We had 2 items sell within 3 days of posting! We weren't there to shop, but I was really impressed with the inventory and quality of the items available. I'd say it's definitely worth a browse for anyone in the market for men's apparel! I wouldn't shop usually shop consignment for a boyfriend unless he was the Salvation Army Type. But Designer Men's Room has treasures to fit many styles. Don't be thrown by the horrible retro shirt with purple swirlies that currently occupies the window. Inside, you'll find an entire rack of preppy, pressed Eddie Bauer shirts, some of which have their original tags, for around $15. I also saw a pair of aerodynamic Cole Hans that looked a bit like Pumas for around $30. I wouldn't have guessed them used outside this store. But this trip's crown jewel was a black retro Western shirt for $28. It had opaque buttons and a neat-looking eagle sown on the back. Men willing to dig can find great values at this store. Women wanting to gift don't even need to let their recipients know the wares are used! read more

Perhaps one of the most disappointing customer service moments I have ever experienced. I've NEVER stepped foot in the store until today when I show up to consign a bunch of clothing with tags still on them. As I am carrying items in, a man who later identified himself as an owner, scowled and made me feel like I was a significant inconvenience. After carrying a third load in and him continuing to sigh as I walked through a doorway by which he was sorting clothes, he mumbled that we don't take more than 30 items without an appointment. That's more than fine, and I understand the policy, but I would burn all of this shit before letting that completely disrespectful owner of this business make a dime on it. I will never be back, and if you're new here, please keep in mind that they only take 30 items without an appointment. Love that this is men's only. Has the feel of a boutique with a fantastic selection ranging from dress pants and blazers to motorcycle gear, athletic wear, dress ties, and patterned socks. Show selection is impressive with everything in really good condition. Prices really vary but are appropriate for the respective brands. There are some absolute steals here in the clearance and sale sections. Staff is mature and friendly, but also let you keep that comfortable balance of shopping at your own pace. After reading the reviews about the service, I was a bit apprehensive, but when I went to this shop today I could not have been more pleased. The store environment is very comfortable, with an overall sense of classic and non-obtrusive masculinity. It's not a big shop and the style is somewhat narrowly-focused, but within those bounds there's quite a bit to choose from. The prices were great. I left with two dress shirts, two dress pants, and a pair of dress shoes for only around $60. Finally, the service exceeded my expectations. The two employees working alongside the shop owner were attentive and helpful without ever being intrusive. The owner wasn't a radiant ball of sunshine, but I didn't pick up any vibes that would justify calling him a dick; he just seemed like a normal shopkeeper to me. Appreciate their diligence. During this pandemic, many businesses have pretended to care about customer safety by posting signs requiring masks. Very few have enforced the rule. But I was very impressed with the staff's commitment to ensuring a safe environment. When a customer came in and initially refused to wear a mask, staff were respectful, yet clear, that masks were required to continue shopping. It would have been easy to let it go and avoid the awkward interaction. But but they saw it through anyway. I would highly recommend shopping in this store. I have been to this store twice. Both times left with great deals! On my first visit I introduced myself to the manager Jeff and told him I was glad to find a consignment store tailored to men. On my second visit he greeted me upon my arrival calling me by my first name and was more than courteous throughout my visit. I want to say I've shopped a lot of mens consignment throught the country. Jeff runs his place as well as any and far better than most. His selection varies but is generally excellent. His attitude and approach is as detailed or hands off as you want it to be. The stoer is clean, innovate even for consignment or resale goods. The service has never failed me and Jeff has at times pulled items for me when in a hurry or I wanted a second opinion. Good taste in music too. High recommendation. I'd like it if he was twice the size. I was looking for Sunday hours and am going there today. I saw someone say they had higher expectations. I can only say try again.
