Just a heads up. I just came from a most delightful experience at this Salon! The G Spot (G is the first initial of the owners name) It was time again for a haircut, I decided to treat myself to a salon instead of the regular Clip joints I usually run into. I ordered up a mani and pedi to go along with my haircut. What a WONDERFUL establishment!!! Not what I expected at ALL! So clean, modern and Spa like! It offers all sorts of beauty treatments! I had a regular mani and pedi combo which is a booked for 1hr 45 mins. Very very thorough! She really worked the nail beds with that tool thingy removing all that dead nail bed tissue from the nail on your hands and feet, Unlike most nail places that only lightly pass over. First time in a long time that I didn't go home and redo my locks! Though my hair is short, I had been trying to grow it out! We all know how that goes...lol I ended up with a cute sassy funky cut....I'm no young chicken, however I didn't want that same old dated look. Heck this is 2020! This year I'm going to start treating myself with some pampering! At least once a month I'm going to do something spa-like. Before I retired I treated myself all the time. They do something I've been waiting to try for a long time, and that is "Yoni" Steaming! They have a whole room dedicated to this....I didn't snap a bunch of photos but I had to take a photo of their nail polish WALL....and that is not even the shellac colors, those are on another wall....! After living in Austin for close to 2 years, I wasn't able to find a hairstylist who specializes in "ethnic" hair. I finally found Marilyn G! Setting up an appointment on her website was VERY easy, she responded within 24 hours to confirm the appointment and provided her contact information should plans change. Very professional. I arrived about 20 minutes early and she knew exactly who I was. She had one customer in her chair who she was finishing, which that customer's hair looked great. I was in her chair within 10 minutes and she conducted a very professional consultation, explained the damage/breakage of my hair, asked a lot of questions about what I've been doing to care for my hair, and then explained what she was going to do BEFORE she started anything. She's very knowledgeable, provided product and care suggestions, extremely professional, super friendly, reasonably priced, and makes you feel at home. My hair and eyebrows turned out amazing. The cut was perfect, the layers were not "choppy", the shine was great, and the damage was GONE! With my answers to her questions, she made sure to give me a cut that was easy to manage and maintain the length. My hair was a mess when I walked in and I was out of the salon within 2 hours. I have been going to Marilyn for over a year now. ( I came to her after my hair was destroyed by another stylist) I have long dark hair, and she has done everything from highlights to all over color to cutting and layering my hair. I have never left her salon unsatisfied. On top of that, she usually does a deep conditioner at no extra charge. The first time I came to Marilyn, my hair was a wreck. I had chunky highlight put in by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing. Because my hair was so dark, the highlights ended up being pinkish orange. I was so embarrassed. I walked into a salon and asked if anyone thought they could fix it. Marilyn was uo to the challenge. By the time I left, my hair looked fabulous! She re-did the highlights and added low lights to fix the mistakes of the previous hairdresser. She added a deep conditioning mask to my hair, so it wouldn't be so damaged. I have been going to her ever since. My boyfriend loves my long hair and he is always happy that she doesn't cut too much. She takes her time to ensure perfection, and her prices are very reasonable. I won't trust my hair to anyone else. I have referred a couple of friends to her, and I have never heard anything but great things about her. I recently moved to Austin and have been searching high and low for a Dominican hair stylist for my relaxer and Dominican blow out needs (I'm very picky about this because I also prefer a roller set and then a blow dry. I'm from New York where Dominican salons are everywhere, which I knew wouldn't be the case in Texas). I called Marilyn (the salon owner) and she was so friendly and accommodating when helping me to make my appointment with her Dominican stylist Berquis. The salon itself is so cute, relaxing and well decorated. Berquis did an amazing job--she is an absolute godsend because my hair was in dire need of a relaxer as well as a trim. Although I live in South Austin and the salon was a bit of a drive for me, it was totally worth it. I look forward to my next appointment! read more

DOMINICAN hair stylist in tha house!!! Right here at the G-Spot. Ms. Berquis is a lovely lady, lot's of experience, can straighten any hair, flat iron if you request too. She only speaks Spanish, her English is very limited, but that's ok 'cause Marilyn is there to translate if you need her to. No wait, always on time for her appts, no double/triple booking, no making you wait for hours to get your hair done. Very clean and organized large sized shop. Miss G is amazing! I needed to find a place that help with a five year old and a three year olds hair that I am caring for. I called her and told her my situation and she got me in that day. She was absolutely amazing and heaven sent. When I brought the girls in I wasn't even sure she could fix the younger ones hair. It was matted and just a mess. Not only was she sooo patient and sweet with the kids but they looked like two different girls when we left. She even showed me how to care for their hair to help keep it healthy. I just called the salon because of a referral from a salon I was wanting to go to. Unfortunately she was booked and sent me here. After explaining to the receptionist on the phone, about what I was wanting, she informed me that she wouldn't be able to do it on the days that I was asking. So she recommended a fellow stylist in the same salon. I answered her questions about my type of hair, what I was wanting, and told her I had pictures of what I was wanting. Somehow in this conversation, she says that she's not judging but she can tell I won't be comfortable or satisfied in their salon. And that she doesn't want to take the "hit" for me not liking it. I asked her how she knew that, and she said she could just tell. I have never been in the salon, and this has been the first time that I called. But somehow she could tell by my voice that I wasn't going to be satisfied, And stated to me "i'm not trying to be mean." I'm just not sure why she would vouch for a stylist, explain to me that she has 20+ years as a stylist, but then tell me she doesn't want to take the "hit". The one star is for the honesty, I guess I wouldn't want my hair taking the "hit" for a stylists lack of skill. read more

My husband had severe back and hip pain. He has seen three (3) medical doctors and they have all given him different shots to help out with his pain. None of the three doctors have helped him to alleviate any of the pain in his back and/or hip area.
