I had a great apartment location after moving from the 4th floor (with two dogs) to the first floor. The staff were great, and Doug - the manager - as well, did everything they could do to make the residents comfortable and happy. I realized there were some limitations on what the staff were allowed to do for the residents, so I was fine with that. I've worked in the public for 58 years, as I also know, you will never please everyone. There were often times when things went wrong due to weather, equipment breakdowns, utilities, etc, but nothing ever due to the negligence of the staff or management. Life in business, and in general, is unpredictable, but when you have a corporate office to contend and wait on approval, you can't always get everything done expediently. The staff and management would ALWAYS be there to pitch in and help make things better for the residents. The only thing is, I had to move to another complex due to cost of things at Watercrest that I no longer needed - but, not because I wanted to or due to ANYTHING I didn't like there. I loved it there and wish the place and staff at the place I've moved to was as great as Watercrest. If you are a reasonable and fair person, you will love it there!

I The Executive chef, Duran, can care less about the residents and their requests and concerns with food services! He creates menus that don't make sense at all! He is never professional in appearance or customer service and a big liar! They jack the prices of rent up but don't provide the services they claim are there! When you try to make a complaint to corporate, there is only one person there and she claims we need to send the complaint to her FIRST to review before submitting it! Which means it never gets reported, especially if it's negative! The turnover rate for employees is ridiculous! From the front desk to dining services says a lot about that place! It's sad, they charge so much for rent and take advantage of the seniors there, but never keep their word and it never adds up to services they state they provided! I would NEVER refer anyone here! It's a ripoff and a dishonest place to reside!

Frontier Management took over in January 2022, now residents are fed sandwiches, and mystery mash. No appetizing meals as before the takeover, no chicken, salmon, beef, no real meat, not even McDonald-like chicken tenders. Sandwich comes with cheap deli meat, no tomato, no lettuce, mayo only. No nutritional food pyramid for seniors is evident. Guests are not allowed to eat in the dining room with their LO. Ex Dir stated she knew the food was bad, and not nutritional, but it was a supply chain issue. She offered no solutions. Hopefully change for the better will occur soon. Am supplementing healthy meals as well as HEB deliveries. No covid testing done on residents after they are quarantined. Very few guidelines via the State of Texas are enforced like those for a nursing home. New management brought in new staff. Sadly it is lacking a healthy actively engaging environment and cleanliness.

Our experience has been a solid 10 with every aspect of the community, and we wouldn't necessarily qualify as easy to please. The grounds and buildings are immaculate, staff in all areas are friendly and accommodating, and the food in all dining venues is consistently restaurant quality with incredible variety. Residents are genuinely enjoying their retirement here and there is a relaxed, friendly culture. There is an impressive range of activities, classes, interest groups and entertainment. Having spent a 40-yr career in healthcare, I asked to tour the assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing units. All reflected high quality care in immaculately clean, homelike surroundings. As long term care goes, this is as good as it gets (as a former nursing home administrator and director of nursing service, I'm in a position to assess this accurately). We researched life plan communities for several yrs and are satisfied that we made the best choice, as more than 20k other Erickson residents have done across the US.

My father was their first patient. He was a Parkinson's patient in the end stage of the disease…read morewith hospice care. He was there for 4 1/2 months. We were forced to move him with a 27 day notice in violation of our contract. We were forced to move him at a very critical point that put him through unnecessary pain and suffering. As a result my father went into distress within 6 hours, then died 7 hours later. It was a horrible experience. I voiced my concern to one of the owners that I feared my father would not make it through another move. His hospice nurse confirmed that as well. The main caregiver there personally told me the following: "The reason we were forced to move was in part retaliatory because they said I was a headache to them for voicing my concerns about some improper care he received, and that they were not supposed to have a bed bound patient anyway, as an assisted living facility. But they accepted him because they said they needed the business and my father needed a place." I even pleaded for another month to find a place bc my husband at that time was trying to find a home for his mother who had just suffered a heart attack and kidney failure and was in a hospital in critical condition ICU. But they did not respond. They said they could no longer cater to his needs and that he needed to be in a skilled nursing facility. When my father's main caregiver went on leave, they hired unlicensed, untrained people who didn't even know what parkinson's was, and didn't care for him properly according to my father's hospice nurse who was in observance. He was left with dirty diapers and had developed sores on his bottom. The hospice bather reported that my father's clothes, towels and sheets had not been washed when the unlicensed, untrained people were on duty. More examples of elder abuse by main caregiver: 1)She was seen by the hospice Chaplin outside of the care home in her car with a friend smoking cigarettes. So how long was she out there and how many more times was she doing that, in addition to the shopping instance when she was caught. Without surveillance cameras, no one knows bc the owners were hardly ever there. They lived at another residence. 2)During the winter freeze when power was lost, she would go in the garage to warm up using the car heater while my father was left alone in the house with no heat. Again, on how many occasions and for how long. 3)There were a few instances when the caregiver asked to leave to get some personal items and told me she would be back in approximately 15 to 20 minutes, but was gone a hour or more, leaving me alone with my father.  4)A bed bound patient should NEVER be left alone in the home for ANY reason! My father was cognitively impaired, and speech impaired, so he would not be able to call out for assistance to be heard, nor would he possibly be able to understand if his caregiver was not in the home. And leaving him alone is taking advantage of these impairments and qualifies for abuse of the elderly under the definitions of neglect and abandonment per elder care law. 5)After the move, I found that two of my fathers pillows had urine and feces stains.  6)Kitchen was often dirty with black dirt/grease stained sponges used to hand wash the dishes and utensils. The dishwasher was never used to properly clean and sanitize.
