When we arrived, the restaurant had a nice ambiance, with people enjoying their food and drinks at the bar. We started with the Fajita Taco Salad with Grilled Chicken, which was delicious--crispy on the outside and filled with well-seasoned, perfectly grilled chicken. Came here again the other night. This will probably be my 4th time coming here but I have to say that the service this time made such a difference. I wish I remembered our waitresses name, she was so kind and helpful. We came here on Friday for dinner around 6. Normally I ordered the senior tequila favorite as it's super good. This time I wanted to try something different and was craving tacos. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the Al pastor tacos with a chile relleno al la cart. The tacos were delicious and had a ton of meat. The chile relleno was good too but really small. We had also ordered the bean dip, which I noticed was a bit different this time. Instead of serving the beans separate from the queso, it was mixed all together. It was still great though! To drink, I had a watermelon margarita and loved it. Also tried their jalapeño cucumber margarita , but I'm not sure I was served the right drink. Was still good, but not what I'm use to when I order them, and was served in a small glass which I thought was odd. After reading the reviews my friend and I decided that the elite reviews were a 50/50 so we decided to check it out ourselves. Immediately walking in we were greeted by someone walking from the back kitchen who happened to be the server. The host was on the phone talking with someone. We sat down and decided to order the queso fundido and the Mexican guacamole. We both agreed that the queso fundido was bland tasting and the chorizo wasn't as tasty. We both rated this dish a 3 for presentation and 0 for flavor. As for the Mexican guacamole it really did look like a child put it all together and tossed it in a normal bowl. We gave this a 1 for presentation and a 2.3 for flavor. We then decided to order the birria tacos and the bonderas (I think it's called this) it's the steak and chicken skewer with bacon, onion and bell pepper. The birria tacos are 3 tacos and the tortilla is fried and so it doesn't allow for the juice from the birria sauce to be soaked up. The near had good flavor but could have been better. We both didn't care for the vegetables in the rice. The other dish was heavy on a smoke mesquite rub. Chicken was dry but had the flavor with the rub outside, steak was great soft and flavored. The service wasn't bad, we did have to waive her down every time we needed something. All in all it was an ok experience. I can't say I would be back. The biggest issue was pricing, the tacos are 2 tacos for $16 or $18 depending on which one you get. With vallartas being down the road and getting 6 street tacos for $12 this place is WAY overpriced and the food wasn't worth paying the high prices. $100 for 2 with water is outrageous. read more

Had a fun experience here tasting some of their delicious margaritas and as well the Birria tacos. The honey margarita was actually wonderful, not too sweet, great flavor. Really enjoyed this place. The ambiance was great, a little more intimate and quiet than the regular Mexican restaurant. Our server, Gabriel, was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food was very good and the presentation was wonderful. I had the Acapulco Burrito, grilled shrimp with bell peppers and onions. My wife had the Quesadilla Veracruz, similar ingredients as mine but with a spinach wrap and a very different cheese sauce. Both were delicious. My husband did like his dinner but the portion was very small for him and if I didn't give him my rice he would not have been full. My dinner was very tasty however the chicken pieces were very thin. I had dinner here recently, the dining room is really nice and the service was good, but i wasn't a fan of my meal. Tacos are just about my favorite thing to eat, but I found their Carnitas tacos to be dry and lacking flavor. Same with the side of rice and refried beans. They had flavor but also an odd flavor, color, and texture to me...like they were trying too hard. The chips and salsa were underwhelming...we still ate them, I just wasn't excited about them. So we read the few reviews and decided to give this place a shot. First off the atmosphere is really nice. It's an upscale Mexican place that feels more intimate than other places. So that was a plus! The food was good, a bit expensive but solid Mexican food. We had the Texas fajita and they were fantastic. Also we ordered the fancy guacamole with chicharrones. That was super good, but was overloaded with onions. Just order it with the onions on the side maybe? The drinks were good and the specialty drinks are a bit overpriced. $15 for one margarita is a little expensive for me. The first food was just ok. They take the phone off the hook so you can't call to order but when you go in the girl at the is looking around like a Chicken without a head. I mentioned that I've been trying to call for 30 minutes she said "we are very busy so we can't answer the phone" I asked so you take it off the hook she says "yes." Honestly I was very excited to try this place today! I have heard amazing things about the restaurant and the margaritas but was quickly disappointed by the service. The restaurant was fairly empty, we were seated and waited approximately 30 to 35 minutes and no one even stopped by to offer us drinks or anything. After heading over to the bathroom I saw the severs in the back of the restaurant cracking jokes. Sadly I decided to leave the restaurant at that point. I don't know if I would go back maybe on a busy day as maybe the service would be better but honestly right now I'm just disappointed. read more

We were super excited to try the new Senior Tequilla restaurant yesterday. However, we left very quickly and I wanted to share so that others can avoid the issue. We had four people. They had a 25 minute wait. We went to the bar and there were 4 seats together and a few more open. The bartender hears that we are on the waiting list as we were talking to ourselves and informs us that it is their policy to not serve drinks to people who are waiting for a table. You can only get drinks if you are staying at the bar the whole night. The bartender then says that this is because it isn't fair to the servers who don't get sales from the alcohol because the bartender gets all the sales. I doubt this place will make it very long. I asked to speak to a manager who never bothered to come speak to us AND my husband spoke to the hostess people who were rude. We left and won't be back. The food is pretty good... especially the lunch taco salad. The restaurant has not been open too long and it is not rarely that busy. Normally the service is decent but not great but today it was especially bad in regards to the wait time to get drink refills or even to get the bill despite having only 3 or 4 tables with people. I gave a 4 star rating because this bad service is not typical but the price for a meal and soda will easy run $15 to $20 which seems high for Mexican food. read more

Our experience matches the previous reviews. We decided to eat here before seeing the low star reviews on Yelp. Our experience started with chips that tasted like they had been leftover from yesterday (stale). The second batch was warm and tasted fresh. We had to wait many minutes before someone came and took our order. The food was good, but like previous posts, the portions were small. We finished our meal and waited what seemed like 30 minutes for our waitress to come back. I told her we were waiting for our check. She came back 10 minutes later to clear more of our dishes and then tried to take my water away that I was still drinking. Then after another five minutes she brought the check and then left again. After another 10 minutes she came back to take our payment. For a brand new restaurant, this was definitely a lackluster service experience. If you're in the mood for Mexican, definitely Vallarta's is a better bet. Those people hustle there and the food is better. read more
