Great experience both times I went. Loved the buffet options. They have this spicy sauce I enjoyed on just about everything. A must try.

This small local food truck offers a limited menu and has perfectly represented what a taco should be. The lengue (tongue) taco meat was seasoned to perfection and was melt in your mouth soft. Covered with onions, cilantro, sour cream and shredded cheese only compliments and completes this one of a kind taco. The pastor (marinated pork) is an explosion of flavor never experienced before. After I finished the first, I had to order two additional ones. Located in the parking lot of the Marathon gas station on the corner of SR-52 and Curley Rd in San Antonio, FL, those who are traveling along I75 and are up for a memorable foodie experience should exit and head 4 miles East to truly have a one of a kind remarkable experience. I can't wait to revisit this newly discovered epic gastrotruck.

A full on Mexican taqueria hidden in a gas station on a random interstate road. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas and even tortas. Everything fresh and grilled to order. I go for the steak burrito. The meat could have used a little more seasoning, but it is super filling and good value. But as far as memorable, look no further than the churros. Hot, crispy, chewy, sweet goodness. The caramel filling is out of this world good. Easily the best churros I have ever had. El Patron is another gas station hit.

The menu is somewhat limited with a number of items taped over on the menu board, so not sure what those will be. But they have a number of good tacos and burritos. They have all the standard meats and even marinated pork (pastor). The tacos are small so the average person would need 2-3 to fill them up. The burritos are bigger, but also about three times the price of a single taco. The food is fresh and I enjoyed all the various flavors they loaded in. They offer red and green sauces on the side. I also tried the beans (side) which are light brown in their juice, but not refried. Drinks are limited with bottled water, Mexican Coca-Cola in a small bottle and a couple Mexican flavored sodas. No refills. They offer dine-in with about eight tables for 2-4 people. You order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready (mine took about 10 minutes). Definitely not big enough for large parties. Outside there are some tables with umbrellas. I enjoyed walking around the Krate to see all the mural art along with the new shops and restaurants that officially GRAND open on June 4th. Check this new entertainment venue out. They will have music on a stage in the park on the weekends. It is a bit hot during the summer, so preferred time is after sunset.

My friends and I would stop in almost every week. Those meals became part of my routine and part of my memories growing up. Realizing it has been more than thirty years since those first visits makes it even more meaningful to see the restaurant still open today. I am sure the family behind it had been serving the community long before I ever moved to Dade City in the late 80s. The fact that they are still here after so many decades says everything about their dedication and the quality of what they serve. Some reviewers talk about a lack of spices, but that was never my experience. Little Mexico always delivered real flavor and real consistency. They never needed to rely on anything flashy. They simply cooked good food and stood by their recipes. If a restaurant can maintain a positive reputation across generations, it means they earned it. I truly hope the family is doing well. Seeing them still succeed after all these years brings back memories and emotion I was not expecting. It feels like a piece of my childhood is still standing strong.

We all ordered the taco platter (two tacos of your choice--soft or crunchy, and steak, chicken, ground beef, or shredded beef...and rice and beans). Great street-style tacos! Two types of salsa--I preferred the verde with a little bite. And even better, the owner came out with a platter of tacos...on the house! Barbacoa, carnitas and al pastor. Too cool. Gracias! Cold horchata, tasty food, friendly service and very reasonable prices. #Winning The only downside: They don't serve alcohol. And a couple of cold ones would've gone down so nicely... Highly recommended, of course.
