This taco spot is a hidden gem! I usually order them on Uber Eats but decided to stop by on a Tuesday for lunch. It was taco Tuesday and it was only $2 for certain tacos which was such a steal. I sat down and got served some fresh chips with salsa. The tacos came out afterwards and were loaded with protein, toppings and double corn shell. I added on a ton of green sauce and devoured them. They also gave us chips and salsa like a sit-down restaurant despite being counter service which was great. The food was so so good that even though I was stuffed I kept eating until it was all gone. I got the quesabirria and burrito bowl with birria protein and they were both so so good. Very filling and flavorful. Price is decent too ($12.99 for the quesabirria, $9.99 for the burrito bowl with an extra $1.99 upcharge for the birria) The birria is so tender and the flavors all come together so well. Hands down my favorite place. And they are around the corner from where I live. Perfect. The last few times I got Asada Nachos. So good. They put just the right amount of Steak on the nachos. The cheese sauce is good as well. My son loves the Asada Tacos. He gets 5 along with Black Beans and Rice. Yes he's a big boy and he loves it all. The Birria tacos are amazing as well. I know there is a couple locations around Tampa, and they are worth trying! The Gunn location is very convenient and it's so good, I always come here to get my ceviches tostada and my Jamaica agua fresca I just love it so much here. The place is small but it always looks clean and everything seems brand new. I don't give them the 5 stars because they need to work a little bit on their service, they forgot some stuff we ordered, and they need a little bit more organization, but other than that they are overall very good. read more

There are a few of these located through out Tampa. Happy they've made an actual restaurant location as opposed to the little location on Linebaugh and Anderson. It's a pretty large restaurant too! Plenty of space to dine-in with friends/family. You can obviously order take out, but if you're dining in, they make it convenient for you to order using QR codes specific to the table number. Order/Pay on your phone via the QR code and they bring the food right out to your table. Super conveniently, especially if it's your first time there, you're not pressured to hurry up using their IPAD or via the person at the cashier counter. Large variety of food, your typical tacos, Birria, nachos, burritos, etc. I got the flautas (you get 6) and nachos w/ Queso. The flautas were REALLY good, but I definitely recommend dining in to eat them as they get soggy pretty quickly. I do like the "open kitchen" concept, they have a clear glass so you can see them prepping/cooking your food which is cool! The place is really clean too!! YUM! I had a great experience at this taco spot. I ordered three tacos (steak, pulled pork, al pastor) and the guava juice. All three tacos were STACKED with meat and had delicious flavor. My favorite was the pastor. This location is unique because they have an open concept kitchen where you can actually see the food getting made. It's bright inside and clean. This place popped up on Gunn Hwy. in the last year. Serving many of the typical Mexican dishes in a fast food environment, there is limited seating inside and assembly line production. Consistency is an issue. One visit your Burrito is great and the next visit your Burrito sucks. I've tried the Quesabirria Tacos and they were great. My wife's Flautas de Pollo, she described as one of the best she has had. The Guacamole was very good, the salsa was ok and the housemade chips were good. It's in a busy plaza where parking can be a challenge. It's convenient, clean, well decorated and tasty. Service help is young and pleasant with colorful decor to set the mood. It will give the taco trucks in the area a competitive disadvantage. read more

Place is nice and a good size to handle a decent size crowd. Food was excellent I had the tacos with beef tongue and consume for dipping or just as a soup, very beefy and good. The tacos come in American ( the works) or Mexican(traditional onion and cilantro) both very good and lastly the menudo (beef tripe soup) also good but served on weekends. Don't forget to wash it all down with the delicious Horchata. This a place the family will enjoy eating in and a very helpful staff that can help in the selections. This place used to be good. It has steadily been going down hill for some time. Visited yesterday and the nachos supreme ordered to eat inside came in a to go container. It literally looked like someone threw this together! It was all mixed in together and I did not know how to eat it. Even the provided plastic fork was useless. What a mess! This while I had been waiting for 25 minutes listening to the broken front door slam every time someone came or left. We are so glad we did because it was phenomenal and definitely competes for our #1 taco spot. We both got the quesabirria tacos, chips and salsa, and elote. The tacos were savory and had clumps of beef unlike some other places that can skimp on the meat. The salsa and chips were some of the best I've had, so fresh and warm with a crisp crunch. I have ordered food for pick up several times, sometimes I go in and give them my name and they just hand me my food. However, there is one guy who insists on seeing the order on my phone which I cannot pull up because I don't have the internet on my phone away from my house. He treats me like I am a homeless person trying to steal food. If this were store policy, then why do the others hand it to me? I have had to cancel orders three different times and wait for refunds. I have been embarrassed three times and I think he only does it because I am overweight. I will no longer buy food from this restaurant. read more

After seeing such a good star rating I was so excited to try this place. I have family that is Mexican, grew up going to Mexican restaurants, and have enjoyed all aspects of Hispanic food. But unfortunately this place was a pretty big let down. The inside of the restaurant is clean and the esthetic is nice but that was pretty much it for me. The food lacked flavor all around from the salsa to the chicken in both of our orders. Neither had much flavor whereas Hispanic food should be full of flavor. The cheese they were using for their quesadillas tasted very off as well. The service also could have been better since most of the staff that I interacted with seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. El Senor De Los Taco's is a modest restaurant located in a plaza on Gun Highway. I have been there several times in the past. I always have a decent to excellent experience. It is also my dad's favorite taco spot. The prices for the food are very affordable. If you want high quality and cheap taco's this is the place to go. I have had the burrito before. The burritos are super tasty. I have been inside the restaurant. It has tables with a view of the street. Customer service is always pretty good. On this specific occasion, I ordered the chicken birrias. The presentation of the birrias was super wonderful. One of the first things I noticed was the fried cheese. I also noticed it included onions. In my opinion, I thought the shell of the birria could be improved on. I thought the shell was a little plain in taste. It was a little bit cloudy. I think the flavor could stand out more. I thought that the texture of the birria shell was oily on the surface. The shell was soft. I thought that the chicken was very well cooked. I appreciated that everything was cleanly cooked. There was nothing funky going on with the tacos. Mostly I enjoyed the fried cheese. The tacos do come with a sauce so if anyone thinks the tacos are plain in taste, they could just use the sauce to give it a boost in flavor. The flavors of the birria seemed to linger in a way. They had a fresh after taste. My family always goes to Senor De Los Tacos. It is also my dad's favorite taco place. I have a positive view on them. read more

After reading other reviews for this restaurant, I had high hopes but unfortunately they fell short. Let me start off by saying that the restaurant is very clean and the staff was friendly. This is a fast casual place so ordering was a breeze, they have a little kiosk set up in front that allows you to look through the menu and customize whatever it is that you want. After I ordered, I went to find the restroom to wash my hands. To my surprise there is a really clean sink just outside the bathrooms. I sat down at a table and one of the employees brought a basket of chips and salsa. The first chip I bit into, stale. OK, that happens- maybe over cooked. Bite into a second chip, it's stale too. The salsa was served warm and had a very mild taste. So, for the main course - I ordered nachos with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. The only thing I had them hold was the pico. My order came out and it looked promising. Take a bite, more stale chips. With nachos, I expected a creamy white queso. Instead, it tasted like cheese sauce out of a can, and it was yellow cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was cold, and the ground beef lacked flavor. Perhaps, this was an off day, but I'm not so sure I will be back. read more
