I am hesitant to give the raving review I was planning to give after some of the other reviewers, but many of them were over 5 years old so it's possible this establishment has changed! My dad randomly found this crab and seafood truck at the Exxon in front of the Walmart in Glen Burnie, he had been telling me how awesome the jumbo male crabs were. On Father's Day he said he didn't want to go to our normal spot, he wanted me to find jumbo or large males from here. He told me on a Friday and when I called Saturday morning they'd already had so many ordered called in that they couldn't confirm what they'd have available on Father's Day. I showed up as soon as they were open and stood in line, the first person wasn't clear or very friendly, he basically told me he had no idea how long I'd have to wait to figure out what was available after they sorted through the orders. I continued to stand in line, and I am glad I did! People started showing up and if I'd gotten in my car I got sure would have missed out. I finally asked a young lady about how orders in person would work, she quickly told me they did have jumbos available and I was good to go. This is the real deal. Just in case you were wondering. We ordered 4 dozen males and females and had the best shelter in place Crab Feast. We live in San Diego and although I grew up going to Maryland every Memorial Day to welcome our favorite crustacean, the Blue Crab. You simply cannot find them in San Diego..... So this year I broke down and ordered from Chesapeake Crab Connection. I have to say the best seafood decision I have made all year. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. This is a company that cares about quality, not quantity. My mom and I have gone to this company for a very long time. We usually get two dozen mediums and, not once have we had a bad experience. The crabs are always heavy and flavorful, the customer service is always warm and welcoming. If you are going to splurge on any type of seafood this should be your company to go to. I quite frequently get the six-ounce crab cakes, when I do, I bake them in the oven for 22 minutes, add some butter on top and after, this to me is the best way.  Furthermore, if you are looking for that Maryland experience, a home away from home this is that company. DO NOT ORDER, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! Long story short, I ordered a bushel arriving last Saturday and they smelled spoiled. I called and emailed immediately and again the next day but they didn't respond till Monday! For God's Sake, it's spoiled seafood! I couldn't risk my family getting sick so I preserved them in the freezer to wait for their response. The crabs smelled SOOOOO BAD overnight even in the freezer and I had to throw them away as I headed out to work Monday morning. This company policies are insulting to customers and there is no refund whatsoever. They'd send you gift card with your next purchase but will you pay more money just to get more spoiled seafood? For you and for your family's safety, don't order from them. I'm very upset about what happened, and please don't let the same thing happen to you. It's just too much money and time for an absolute disappointment. Here are the first couple emails back and forth between me and their customer service if you want to know what happened to me. This company has NOT disappointed yet. Im an Easterner. I eat only crabs from Maryland or Alaska. Every summer is a personal ritual to have Maryland blue crab. I only prefer extra large one, jumbos when I can get them. This yr I got their extra large. Well seasoned, I get regular season, just spicy enough for my taste. They came the day I requested. Packaging perfect. Dry ice kept them all in great condition. I got 2 dozens. They sent 3 extras. I eat them in half dozen portions. Last time I got them, I froze the others. Steamed them and the lasted. It's a treat them since I live in Texas. I try never to eat anything from the Gulf, too toxic. Thus, I have to either visit the east coast or buy them from Chesapeake. I purchased a groupon voucher - one of the worst mistakes I've made - The shipping costs took up all the amount of my voucher. Ridiculously expensive. I ordered crab claws - where they found such TINY crabs claws and someone with the patience to work with them - I'll never know. The crab dip was okay but nothing special. the crab cakes were defrosted when they arrived so I had to cook them immediately - had planned on putting them in the freezer for a gathering at a later date. DO NOT BUY! I made the mistake of buying a groupon before checking out the site. The seafood prices are outrageous plus they add $10 handling on their already amazingly high shipping. Update: I contacted Groupon a few days ago. Groupon said their "Fine Print" says "Shipping and packaging extra charge". I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS - DO NO ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY I had posted a review in may somehow it isn't showing up. I also used a groupon and didn't see the reviews. I ordered a crab dinner, including JUMBO LUMP CRAB meat. when it came everything was much smaller than we expected, I pulled out the jumbo lump to use I look at the packaging, and it says LUMP Crab meat, I immediately called the company and left a message, saying they had sent the wrong product, I also opened the container and took pictures of what I would call crab meat or backfin, it certain wasn't lump in any shape or form, we did not use the product as it was for a crab imperial recipe which really needs jumbo lump. later that evening I emailed the company along with the pictures to show the crap they sent me, they started arguing with me immediately, that 1 it was jumbo lump, and that it is normal for lumps to fall apart when being shipped, and the final was, it tastes the same why was I fussing. I said all I expected was that they supply me with the product I ordered in the first place. they finally offered me a $20 gift certificate, which didn't even cover the cost of product let alone the ridiculous shipping prices they charge. Customer service awful, the other items included in order were all frozen, so flavor was gone, shrimp and crab cakes, I never freeze seafood, so I would never have ordered if I knew it was frozen, and the crab cakes were so small they could barely be considered an appetizer portion. the good thing is that when I let groupon know about this shoddy horrid company, they issued me groupon bucks as an apoplogy even though I did not blame groupon for this company. read more
