My first time visiting this spot. Vibrant colors filled the restaurant and music playing, for sure a fun vibe. Televisions were mounted throughout the restaurant playing different channels. There was a bar area near the entrance. The restrooms were located towards the back on the restaurant. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a dated feel to it. The tables and booths could stand to be replaced. The customer service was adequate, and the server seemed nice enough. I ordered the lunch fajitas and it was a generous portion of chicken and steak. It came with sautéd onions and peppers. The fajitas were served sizzling hot but only came with two tortillas, at least 4 would be needed to accommodate the amount of meat and fajita toppings. Their Margaronas are awesome (Margarita with a Coronita stuck in it), and the food is great. I am on quest to try all the Mexican restaurants in the area and was glad when book club chose this location for our monthly meeting. The space was ample and there was plenty of seating for everyone. I got to say that the staff was great and they took great care of us, but the food was just bad. I am guessing this was more of an Americanized- Mexican restaurant and they had things like an infamous tacos salad which is served inside of a tortilla bowl and other weird things that you would never see in Mexico. I had a chicken tostada which was really unappetizing and topped with a pound of lettuce and a giant piece of tomato. The chicken was not great and it was really saucy which caused the tostada to absorb the liquid and be soggy and impossible to hold. The chips on the table were good but the salsa was bland and lacking flavor. At least they had Valentina to make things a little spicier but overall it was not great. read more

So this place has been hit or miss for years. We were in the area today and thought we'd give it another try. We walked in and there was a good amount of customers which was encouraging. Our server was very friendly. We received chips and salsa. Most people would agree that these style restaurants have pretty much the same salsa recipe. Senior Tequila was different this time. It seemed like it was watered down and had an odd taste. It tasted like it was bought at Walmart. Our food arrived and I noticed yet another problem. My Bistec Mexicano smelled off. Like it was cooked several days ago. The steak was way over cooked and greasy. It even had an off putting smell. Wife's enchilada had no enchilada sauce on it. Why? Why would they serve an enchilada without enchilada sauce? A tortilla with cheese in it. She asked for enchilada sauce and was brought a small bowl of orange water that smelled like ketchup and was inedible. The rice was hard and dry. It was clearly cooked days ago. Our server asked us how our food was and we let her know that it was not good at all. We didn't ask not to pay, didn't ask for a discount, but at least expected the manager to apologize and ask what the problem was. That didn't happen. We will never go back. It just doesn't get worse than this folks. We were served leftovers at lunch on Saturday. Dry, flavorless, foul smelling and Ill prepared food. ¡La comida muy mal! read more

We love Senor Tequila, but I give them this rating based on take-out. NEVER order a pick-up order from this location if you expect the same experience as dining in-house. We ordered 6 (!) entrees and a large queso, only to be given 2 bags of chips and 2 small salsa. When I called to ask if that's the norm, I was told that it is. There was not enough salsa for one bag of chips, much less two (that should've been 3). We payed entirely too much for 6 entrees and a large queso, only to open store-bought chips and salsa that we had at home. The food was ok, but we ordered based on it being an easier Sunday night dinner, with a lot going on. We still enjoy Senor Tequila and may be back ... just not as regularly and NEVER for take-out again. Similar experience from Taco Bell for half the money. read more

Hidden away in a pseudo stripmall sandwiched between a walmart and Ford dealership, this colorfully decorated Mexican restaurant offers a now standard "to be expected Hispanic restaurant experience". Nothing wrong here. Greeted at the door by friendly culturally appropriate friendly younger men and escorted to a very colorfully decorated patio I was offered the traditional warm daily cooked chips and salsa, a very large flagon of Dos Equis. I had 2+ hours to kill waiting for tire replacement and no pressure was given to hurry me through the dining experience. An extensive menu so large at first viewing, if you are looking for it, it has to be offered. Average price per meal 15$. Big mug beer 9$, so 50$ minimum out the door for 2 folks is a reasonable expectation. There are so many offerings that it was a dice roll for choice. Most lunch specials under 10$. So many offerings, I couldn't choose, so asked the manager to offer a suggestion and we decided on the Bistec Mexicano, ribeye, onions, tomatoes & jalapenos. Guacamole salad, rice with corn tortillas. Manager Jose Baltazar was extremely helpful. Even with this extensive of a menu they are willing and able to create a lunch or dinner to one's specific requirements. If you can dream it up they can create it. They also offer a free lunch card 5th one free. One can't go wrong here. Asked for side of hot salsa and was not disappointed. Shout out to my server was Jose Alberto. It's all about the sauces. Their home made salsas are awesome. So, as for a bit of negative,....i would have preferred the ribeye chunks more medium rare, but to be honest I didn't request it that way.
