The entree's (chimichangas) were very tasty, but so were the usual accompaniments. The refried beans and guacamole salad are usually bland at best elsewhere, but even these were very good here. We've been going to Pedro's for about three years now and have never been disappointed with our service or meal. They get you in, let you relax, serve food fast, but don't rush you out the door. I accidentally ordered a "large" beer once and let me tell you, huge! I was slightly embarrassed as it was lunch time (on my day off of course). So my friend suggested I try this restaurant. She loves their tacos and their drinks. It's a small establishment in Summerville. We arrived right before the rush which was good. I instantly saw two of my former students and they came over to say hi. The place is nice and the staff is friendly. They had great service and, of course with Mexican, you don't have to wait long for your order. We had chips with our drinks and I must admit they were pretty darn good. I ordered the Texas Burrito Trio, which had steak, chicken, and shrimp with a side of rice. My friend had the street tacos. My meal was good, but it didn't wow me. Serving size was huge, so I have some to eat for breakfast tomorrow. Overall, I would still give them a 4/5. I was about to say a 3, but the cleanliness of the place, the great service, and the drinks won me over. read more

So I've eaten here a couple of times. The restaurant is clean and the staff is polite. The staff is also pretty slow. Chips and salsa are great. My food here the first 2 times was fine, not amazing. The most recent visit, the food was really bad. It tasted like it was out of date/ rotten. I'm not joking. I only ate a few bites of the food and stopped because I thought I may get sick. It literally smelled bad. Off! The server came by and asked if my food was ok and I told her that it was not good at all. She smiled and walked away. What a difference 7 months make. We have been esting at Pedro's since we moved into Pineforest last June. My wife and I visited again tonight, but after the experience, I'm not sure we will ever be back. My wife ordered the #4 combination, which consists of a beef taco, beef tostada, and beef enchilada. Unfortunately, the beef was more like a hamburger soup, minus any seasoning. The tostado shell was soggy and covered in water. When she picked up the taco, it began to drain the water that the beef was sitting in. The steak and shrimp quesadilla were just ok. The steak was finely chopped and burnt on some pieces. The shrimp tasted fresh, but overall, it lacked flavor. As for the service, she was having a very off night! When our food was brought, I began to ask for another beer, water, and the sour cream that didn't make the plate on my wife's dish. The server started to walk away after I asked for a beer, and I had to tell her to stop so I could finish. She seemed irritated that I wanted to complete my sentence. I went to lunch with a dear friend here and we loved it! It was the day after Christmas so we were a bit nervous on if they would be open. The service was great we were greeted and sat right away. The restaurant was clean and decorated tastefully. Our waiter was polite and extremely helpful when it came to the menu, he helped us make our selection based on what we both liked. I chose the steak fajitas (lunch size) and it was huge! I needed up taking half of it home with me. The restaurant wasn't too busy but had a nice flow of customers. Down the road from the house, absolute perfect place to sit outside and eat. The food was your average Tex-Mex, which we did like. Came out pretty quick. Absolute awesome staff very friendly and nice. We will definitely be returning for now our go to spot. I honestly couldn't see why the reviews are bad. I had a really good experience. The price was perfect for the food you receive. I will warn you if you sit outside there is an abundance of caterpillars that are harmless. The order was for a to go. Orders included things on the lunch menu. We ordered the trio fajita that included the chicken, steak, and shrimp with the vegetable medley onion, tomatoes and bell pepper. This is served with a side of lettuce, pico, sour cream, guac, refried beans & rice. Mine is the sans refried beans. The other orders included the shredded chicken taquitos (you get 3 from the appetizer menu), 2 a la carta cheese quesadilla, and lastly the lunch supreme burrito with the usual sides. Just as if you were to eat in the restaurant the to go included a side of tortilla chips and salsa. Service: 4/ 5 due to them forgetting my tortillas for my fajita. Taste: 3/5 not very flavorful. But I am open to try other options on the menu. It's not bad and it is not good food. Price: 5/ 5 the price for the food is better than some fast food restaurants. You get a pretty decent amount of food. Overall the food was bland. The only good thing that had any flavor was the trio fajita. The salsa tasted like tomato juice. The taquitos had no cheese only shredded chicken. This was suppose to be a shredded chicken and cheese toquitos. The ground beef in the burrito supreme was absolutely flavorless. Could have used a little bit of salt and pepper because it tasted like plain cooked up ground beef. The quesadilla was any typical cheese quesdadilla. You can't really mess it up. I would recommend the place but I think I will be ordering other items to try next time instead. Give the place a try. They are new so they are going through a bit of growing pains. When I walked in I was greeted with warm smiles and immediately seated. Within seconds I had chips and salsa in front of me. The service was quick and efficient. I was quickly provided my beverage within minutes of sitting down. My order was taken shortly thereafter. Inside of 10 minutes I had my entire order and the food was amazing. The carne asada street tacos are delicious and coupling that with the street corn is a perfect meal in my opinion. The staff were friendly and professional throughout my experience. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Placed a phone order to pick- up 2 custom burritos (something that wasn't on the menu) in turn, I received 2 enchiladas (1 per container). When I got home to see I had the wrong order, I called the restaurant to let them know and Pedro gets on the phone apologizing the cook didn't know how to make my burrito (ground beef, sour cream, cheese, rice/beans). REALLY? He then promised that they would make me one the next day. Next Day- I called to confirm if its still good to pick up the order and the so called " Manager " tells me " Oh, today is his day off and there's no way I can bother him" I then explained everything so he (being the manager) can make a smart business decision and he further tells me... "Yea, he's not here and I don't have his number" now I went from disappointment to being PISSED OFF! I DONT LIKE LIARS! First- which one is it how? You don't want to bother him or you don't have the number?? Second- you want me to believe you're the manager and you're listening to a customer get angry??? Third- how does the cook not know the difference between an enchilada and a burrito??? I was actually going to use this place for an event but now... wait on that phone call!!! This is a place is very cute with nice outdoor seating. It's clean and the flowers outside are beautiful. The food was pretty good but the service was very slow and they kept forgetting our drinks, even when reminded them several times. They also got our order wrong in four different ways and had to be reminded about that twice before it was fixed. Perhaps sitting outside is a bad idea? I really wanted to love this place. It is nearby home and I thought I would frequent it often. Perhaps it's worth another try but if I do go again I'll probably sit inside where it's easier for them to manage the orders. read more

I have to say 50/50 with the food, I always order steaks and sometimes it's so greasy it takes over all my sides and plate I could drink it with a straw, other times its fine and everything taste good. The customer service isn't that bad, if ya want something or feel like ya will later ask as soon as ya can otherwise you'll get eye to eye contact across the restaurant with your server while they chat it up with other servers for 30mins at a time. Always a go to Mexican restaurant I stop to when I'm in the area. Everything is good and seasoned well.

We have eaten here 5 times over the past 45 days. The food is typical Mexican cuisine and not really any different in taste and appearance from the other Mexican restaurants in the area...Tastes fine, but typical...The disappointing part every single time is that the service is VERY SLOW and erratic. At times it takes 5 minutes to get chips and salsa and then another few minutes for someone to take our drink orders. We were there last night and the server was friendly but hard to find even with only 3 more tables seated in the dining area. Maybe they need to hire more employees, just my opinion. We will be back but hopefully, the service will be more reliable. read more

I love Mexican food and Pedro's doesn't let me down. I couldn't eat half of my fajita order. My only complaint is there were not enough vegetables, too much meat. I had a medium margarita (really, really good). My only complaint there is that I didn't have room for another. I was excited to try Pedro's as the outside is very appealing. It's a clean, nice looking restaurant. The food smelled amazing as we walked in. The service was very, very slow. The wait time for our food was also very long. I thought maybe it was just our table, but noticed another customer at the bar checking on his margarita order because of the length of time he had been waiting. The lime margarita was tasty and fresh. It wasn't an overpowering lime mix flavor like some Tex mex joints. The menu had lots of options, but was a bit more expensive than similar restaurants. I ordered the Tejano Special and my husband had the Steak Mexicano. The steak on both plates just wasn't good at all. It was very dry and chewy and had a microwaved flavor to it. The chicken was also dry, but more flavorful. The chorizo was great. The rice was barely warm and lacking flavor. The refried beans were good, but wished I had more. The portion sizes were pretty small considering the price. Overall, it was just an ok experience and I will most likely not be returning. I'm hoping it was just an off night and others have a more enjoyable experience. read more
