Our aim was to help him become stronger and more capable of undertaking physical activities/challenges and also more confident on the playground and gym. Developmental Steps came highly recommended by a friend. I am so very glad that we decided to go with Developmental Steps. Hayley, our physical therapist, is absolutely outstanding. Besides being very qualified & meticulous, she is very engaging, always cheerful and pleasant. We have been seeing her since April and I have noticed a HUGE change in my son's abilities and confidence. Hayley always keeps me updated with his progress and often suggests games/activities we can do at home to help make my son stronger. During our initial evaluation, she identified that my son had slightly low muscle tone. She has been working meticulously to make him stronger, and more confident. The best part is that all the training/strengthening exercises are done through fun games. My son doesn't even know that he is being challenged - he has so much fun. In fact, he even begs me to take him to Hayley on days when he is not scheduled to see her. Thanks to Hayley, my son is now at par with other kids when it comes to a lot of activities, and even ahead in some skills such as hopping on one leg and maintaining his balance. His teachers too have commented that he participates more in the movement classes/gym type activities in school. Hayley is absolutely fantastic and I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone seeking professional physical therapy services. The only downside is they do not process through insurance. However, they have been very accommodating with reviewing invoicing and billing needs pertaining to insurance claims. They do best scheduling via email and their website is easy to find. Their office is also easy to get to off of 95 exit 6. There is always parking and convenient. The office manager is difficult to get a hold of via telephone because her office hours are seemingly limited. However, as stated, email is reliable. Definitely a great place to bring a child in need of OT support.

I was at Sprain Brook Manor for rehab for polyneuropathy and was there for a little over three…read moremonths. I was quite disabled when I arrived and it wasn't until I started to recover, near the end of my stay there, that I wanted to go home. I knew I needed to be there, and the staff members knew I did too. Most were attentive and supportive and any concerns I had (there weren't many) were addressed promptly. The facility is kept very clean, the food was good (they accommodated my special requests) and there are daily activities for the patients to partake in. Staffing however, could be better. Please note that the main reason I chose Sprain Brook Manor was for the physical therapy and it was definitely the right choice. When I arrived there, and I do not exaggerate, I could not sit up, stand up, walk, use the bathroom, write, tie my shoes or pretty much anything else that required the use of my hands, legs and back. Thanks to the amazing efforts of my physical therapist Gilbert and my occupational therapist Rolanda, I improved slowly but surely and, to the surprise of many, I was able to walk out of there and go home! I cannot thank those two enough and will be forever grateful to them for accomplishing the impossible!

After years of denying that I needed a full left knee replacement I finally had the surgery done. I…read morewas reluctant to go to a rehab facility, but my friends convinced me that it was the best thing to do due to my home situation. Burke Rehabilitation was chosen, and it was one of the best decisions I could have made by taking the advice of those who cared about me. Burke is an amazing place, with a dedicated and caring staff. I have never been to a facility that was run with such precision. From the doctors, the nurses, the nurses' aides, to the PT and OT professionals, EVERYONE in this facility, had only one thing in mind . . . to assist and rehabilitate those in their charge. I especially want to recognize the nurses' aides who cared so deeply for the people they were helping, who comforted me when I had a difficult day and cheered me up when I was sad. Their "can-do" attitude was some of the best medicine available. I left Burke feeling that I had truly been to a place where commitment and caring was all that mattered. Thank you Burke for making me feel at home, cared for and valued.

On Monday night at around 11:30 pm I was transported by ambulance to the ER with severe shortness…read moreof breath and dizziness. I spent the next 12 hours in the ER while waiting for a room. They gave me a battery of tests, blood labs, chest Ex Ray , EKG. When they determined that my Hemoglobin was severely and critically low they were expecting to find some kind of internal bleeding. Their thoroughness found out that I had a urinary tract infection coupled with my diabetes, my anemia and some of my diabetic meds were adding to my severe anemia condition. They immediately put me on antibiotics and started to withhold some of my other meds because I needed to stabilize my blood. They gave me 1 blood transfusion that did not improve anything. After 2 more transfusions my blood improved tremendously. I would be remiss if I did not praise the staff. Mark the technician in the E R was great. The nurse and ER doctor were very attentive, methodical and reassuring. When I got to a room later in the day I was amazed at the nurses and techs and how they were a team and exemplified caring for patients. At this stage of my life I have been in hospital situations over the years and White Plains Hospital should get ten stars. Thank you Mark, Megan, Michelle, Rachel, Pam, Julianna and Dr Alon the attending physician. Thank you ER staff. It was determined that I had a UTI that sent my blood to go too low. They let me go home but I have to check within a week to sure the infection is gone.As I said before 10 stars not 5. Sal E. New Rochelle

I was in a lot of emotional and physical pain and cried throughout my evaluation -- could not say I felt understood or supported and the environment was very hectic. I'm happy that I did not return for the recommended twice a week for a year as well because I also received a bill via email when they previously "confirmed" that I did not have to pay for the appointment both prior to me coming in and afterwards. When I called to inquire I received contradictory information and the last person chose to go a victim blaming route. I would not recommend this place and it's actually my first yelp review because I feel this strongly about it.

The only issue that I have is that they are not transparent about the amount of money you will be paying per visit. They do not charge you per visit in the office. They do not send you or email you a monthly or weekly bill. Be careful when getting physical therapy here because you will be surprised by a large bill that no one in the office cares or knows about. Apparently they are not trained about billing they only know how to schedule an appointment. When you speak to Scott at billing he jokes around and laughs because he thinks it's funny because obviously he get a lot of these calls.
