It wasn't just a mall, it was a backdrop for so many memories. I still remember when it had Rainforest Café and Johnny Rockets, those were absolute staples of any visit. There was even a Sanrio store at one point, that had planko, which felt like a little slice of joy every time I walked in. It really was the mall of my time growing up. Some of my favorite memories include visiting Santa during the holidays, catching movies with friends and family, and just spending afternoons wandering around when going to the mall was a real treat, not just an errand. Not to mention using the photobooth before "selfies" were a thing. They even had a bounce house and play area which was so much fun as a child. It's definitely bittersweet seeing it close. While it's not quite what it once was, it still holds so many good memories for so many people. A solid four stars for everything it was at its peak and for the nostalgia it leaves behind. An end of an era, but one worth remembering.

Three days before MacArthur Center closes for good, I brought my kids to the mall to spend an…read moreafternoon making a few last memories. They were happily riding the escalator, and I was taking a simple video of them on my phone. To my surprise, a security guard stopped me and told me that videotaping was not permitted. At first I didn't even realize she was speaking to me because she was mumbling from a distance. When I continued recording my children, she approached again and more firmly told me that no videotaping was allowed. What made the experience so frustrating is that the mall is literally days away from closing. The building was largely empty, my children were simply riding the escalator, and I was recording family memories--not conducting a commercial photo shoot or disrupting anyone. Meanwhile, there have been photographers and members of the media documenting the mall's final days. The whole interaction felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Instead of leaving with fond memories of one last visit to MacArthur Center, I left feeling scolded for recording my own children in an almost-empty mall that will no longer exist in a matter of days. Consumer habits may have changed over the years, but experiences like this certainly don't encourage people to return. It was a disappointing way to end what should have been a nostalgic final visit.

Oh Yelp, it says they're closed, but they are very much open, except Sundays & Mondays…read more I was actually headed to ADodson's to see if I could find a last minute birthday gift, and I decided last minute to check out Fireflies. I was so happy I did! I found more than what I needed, and a few extra things also! They have so much cute gifts for anyone & everyone (including a little masculine room & little room for kids). I definitely will be back to find gifts for people, and it feels good to support & shop small, local businesses! Great service, friendly owner- couldn't ask for more.

Oh boy - I'm in love…read more This shop is SO charming - literally everything about it. I have been meaning to stop in for months but I never think about it until I have somewhere else to be and am passing it on Bridge road! Make sure you're looking for it because if you are headed toward Carrollton away from Harbor View it is on the right side of the road but you have to turn off before you get to the bridge onto a little side street right by the Fireflies sign. It's a small gravel road that leads to the shop right by the water. It's so charming. There are about 7-8 parking spaces outside. Once you walk inside it's so cute - there are thousands of amazing little hand-crafted gems inside. You'll find jewelry, housewares, baby stuff, men's stuff, accessories, art, vases, etc. etc. etc. There is a small room off to the left with men-themed stuff like cooling after-shave stuff, ties, and a hundred other neat little goodies if you need a gift for one of the men in your life. In the next room I found more things like scarves, wine stuff, mermaid items and in the following room (with a view of the bridge and water) is a treasure trove of the cutest baby stuff I have ever seen. Like EVER. I need someone to get pregnant so I can go ransack the place. Stuffed animals, Faery doors, wall signs, piggy banks, male and female-themed items... you name it. I wanna buy it for someone. Haha. The main room has a bunch of beachy-themed things, some food stuffs, some pillows, wall decor, house decor, jewelry, globes and lights. I roamed around for an hour looking at everything twice and I still kept finding things I hadn't seen. The lady behind the counter was also really friendly and we made small-talk while she answered a few questions I had on two items I was really interested in but needed to size for my home. I also saw her helping another lady and she was very attentive and customer-service oriented. It's not huge inside - but it is well-done, tasteful, filled with beautiful treasures and good quality gifts and finds. This is going to be a staple for me when I have to find something for a special occasion like a birthday or for a good friend. I'm so glad I FINALLY remembered to stop in!

The chair that goes with it is MIA?? So this is there idea of customer service, they are going to give me back the 200 $ I paid for delivery....and gave me a new delivery date, first they said that they could not deliver until Jan 6th because of the manufacturing department but now they can deliver 2 days earlier cause I'm mad??? I told them if my furniture is not delivered to my house by the end of the day on the 4th of January they can come get every dam piece and stick it!!! They are not the only furniture store in town, so stop acting like I need you......also they need to have better complaint department because the way they do business it's going to be hard to get through to complain with everyone else complaining???? Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache go anywhere else!!!!!!

I haven't visited a furniture store in years, and I noticed some things have changed. I remember, maybe 10 years ago, the salespeople would be hawking the doors as customers came inside. But nowadays, they pretend they don't see you, but they do. We entered about 6pm last night, and we were not greeted upon entering. We began browsing on our own... after 10 minutes of browsing, we had to flag down a salesperson for assistance. Not sure, if the hour was getting late or if the salespeople met their quota, but the "pretend you don't see me" vibe was super weird. Nevertheless, we continued to browse alone until the store closed at 7pm. I did see a living room set I liked. I inquired about it... only to find out two pieces of the set are now discontinued... what!? Of all the items in the store, I would pick something that is no longer available. I must say after receiving that news, I was ready to leave. Overall, the store is worth browsing. The pricing is good. But anything beyond browsing... you will have to find out on your own. This store is located near several eateries. Therefore, if you get tired after browsing, you can grab something eat at a fast food restaurant, such as Wendy's or take a seat at a restaurant, Red Robin or AJ Gators. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. Have fun and enjoy life :)
