I loved what I ordered at Seoul Taco. I had the gogi bowl with spicy pork and it was an enormous and delicious meal for quite a small sum. There was plenty of heat, flavor, and spice. They were not stingy with ANY of the ingredients, either...for the gogi bowl, five stars easily!! My husband, on the other hand, was not so into his kimchi nachos. He got them with tofu and said the tofu and kimchi was their saving grace but the nacho part was like chips and queso from the grocery store, not impressive. I was glad I went a little bit more authentic Korean with the bowl. Also, his nachos were a little more expensive than my meal and came as a much smaller portion than the bowl. Aside from that we were pleased. It's a big space with a lot of energy and the staff was friendly. Very simple which I think is good. We usually like to eat in traditional Korean restaurants and understand this is a bit different and mixes things up, but honestly I think I'd rather just go one way or the other (Korean or Mexican/Tex Mex). Convenient location and spacious interior! Sit in the adjacent room unless you have a change of cloth or if its the last meal before you wind up. The taco is probably the best bet among everything else in the menu. It's tasty, light and refreshing. The gogi bowl has a tempting appearance, with the salad, tofu and the fried egg and the spicy fiery red sauce, however its a letdown once you start digging into the dish, mainly because of the disproportionate amount of boiled rice compared to the salad and tofu. If i do return it is to have the tacos and maybe ....maybe give the quesadilla a try sitting in the adjacent room or takeout! read more

This place is pretty popular amongst students and wanted to give it a try. First impression... this place was dirty and messy. Trash on the floors, dirty tables, sticky floor. The person making the food was using the same greasy gloves to work the register... YUCK! I ordered a burrito. It was not my thing. The kimchi rice was so gummy it cemented at the bottom of the burrito and the rice made up 80% so really really unappetizing. I understand people that may like this place since it's more unique than most restaurants here, but I personally don't recommend. read more

I had heard of Seoul Taco when Strange Donuts was said to be sharing a restaurant space with them. So when I finally had a chance to stop in on a trip to Columbia, I was excited. I asked the cashier if everything was vegetarian before you add on your choice of protein. He said they aren't "vegan"... sometimes people get confused, so I asked if there was any anchovies, etc hidden somewhere. The girl cooking next to him piped up that the kimchi slaw (and rice) has fish oil (fellow vegetarians, take note!). She recommended the tofu quesadilla. I never get quesadillas that are more interesting than cheese, so I went ahead and tried it. I LOVED it. It was super messy to eat but the tofu was delicious and the sauces on top were spicy and added great flavor that I balanced out some with the sour cream. The addition of the lettuce gave it some more texture, too. Four TVs on one grid was a little much for me, but I imagine most aren't there to watch the TVs, anyway. It's a great spot that's open late on the weekends for your food needs while bar hopping or as a place to hang out with friends. read more

I tried the spicy pork tacos topped with greens and a spicy mayo sauce. They were served fresh, and the sauce on the meat was flavorful. I also ordered a side of kimchi fried rice ($2), which I found to be disappointing. It was overcooked and had no kimchi mixed in. If you are looking for a different alternative to Moe's or Chipotle, Seoul Taco fits the bill. read more

In my ongoing quest to find the best tacos in Columbia, we went here on a Sunday near noon. Food was really tasty, and the trendy place seemed huge as college kids stumbled in for a cure for their leftover hangover. We tried beef, chicken, and spicy pork in combination of tacos, nachos and burritos. Honestly had a really hard time discerning the difference in the meats, because they all had the same flavor... It was a tasty flavor, yes, but a weird sensation for me. The price was a bit steep for a taco, but we enjoyed them nonetheless. Will be back. I visit Columbia once a year and this is always a MUST GO TO spot. The rice is sweet and sticky, I always get the burrito so I can get the bolgogi beef and rice. It is HUGE btw, I usually only get half eaten and take the other half home. I got the Gogi Bowl. Bulgogi (seasoned beef) with kim chee fried rice, a fried egg, lettuce, carrots and some Korean seasonings. Taste very similar to a Bi Bim Bap (minus the Korean veggies)! It was very good. The restaurant looked small at first, but there another room towards the back that is pretty spacious. The back room also has 4 TV screens playing. What I didn't like is that the music they played in the restaurant had some profanity it.... not very professional in my opinion. As far as parking goes, there is only street parking which can sometime be hard, but overall good experience. read more

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon with the family. We had decided to come downtown to grab a bite to eat, but hadn't decided on a location until we were close, and this was our first time here. It wasn't very busy, and we walked right up to order. There were plenty of tables available in the back room, along with several TVs to keep the guys occupied with sports during our short wait for our food! ;) Between the four of us we had four tacos (two spicy pork, two steak), a gogi bowl with steak, and a burrito with steak (very generous size!). All of it was fantastic! The kim chi fried rice on the burrito makes it extra special. I loved the gogi bowl - it was the right combination of protein, rice, & veggies, and the pepper sauce gave it just the right amount of flavor and a little spicy kick that wasn't overwhelming. We will definitely come here again and probably have the same as we had this first time -- or maybe try the nachos too! And we'll have to save some room for Strange Donuts too since they share the space! read more

We visited Seoul Taco while visiting the campus on a college tour weekend. It is in easy walking distance of the campus. The decor in the restaurant is interesting and unique, so be sure to take a look around. I ordered the Bogi Bowl. This bowl has rice, mixed greens, your choice of meats and some chili paste. I chose to order mine with the Bulgogi beef. The beef was tasty and well prepared, but the mixed greens left me a little underwhelmed. When I mixed everything together it was a good meal, but I have had better on my journey to have Bulgogi in as many ways as possible. So cold, we almost thought about getting it to go and not staying there to eat. Instead, we decided to stay and wore our jackets. The menu is simple and intriguing due to the Korean touch in everything. The menu included: tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos and gogi bowl. Sides include kimchi slaw & fried rice. Everything sounded fantastic to me, but the gogi bowl stood out since the description made it sound like the scrumptious traditional Korean dish: the bibimbop bowl AKA my favorite thing in the world. The disappointment came when I actually received my food. Like I said, the description sounded wonderful since it included rice, egg, bulgogi and fresh veggies. My gogi bowl was lacking to say the least...the "fresh veggies" was just a bowl full of mixed greens and the bulgogi was flavorful but so overcooked and hard. Needless to say, I wasn't completely satisfied with my meal. I think this place has a TON of potential and I'm hoping I experienced it on an off day. Also, the staff wasn't the most friendly. Absolutely loved this place! Stopped in during a road trip, and were blown away by the tacos. The bulgogi was out of this world good, and the chicken and pork were pretty awesome as well. My boyfriend ordered the burrito with chicken and kimchi fries rice, and it was also excellent! Definitely more unique than your standard burrito with Thai flavors added in. Thought we would try this place out after reading all the hype about it in Feast Magazine. The place was pretty packed during their first weekend opening during the T/F Film Fest. Ordered the Gogi Bowl with spicy pork and the boyfriend ordered the bulgogi burrito and 2 bulgogi tacos. First off, the Gogi bowl was decent. I'm used to more of an authentic bibimbap, so for me this was average. The mixed greens weren't cutting it for me. I do appreciate the good amount of gochujang chili sauce and hints of sesame oil in the flavor of the pork. Their spicy pork was on point. The boyfriend thought his burrito was decent. Nothing to rave about. We both are from Cali and this reminded us of Chef Roy Choi's Kogi BBQ, but catered more for the palates of the Midwest. If you do decide and go, stick to their tacos.
