5 stars for the MUA - JADE! Before i rave about how awesome and sweet Jade was, I want to talk about the online reservation needed to make an appointment to get your makeup done. And for that, its a solid 2, lol. i went online multiple times to book an appointment, and the website itself is easy to book a 60 minute makeup appointment. However, when it was time for me to pay, it kept saying there was an error with my card. I tried to book again the next day and the time slot I needed was already taken :( but the LORD knew how much I needed this self care day that the person who booked it had cancelled! TYJ! I STILL couldnt make an appt inline because of the same reason so I had to call the store and make an appt over the phone. Once it was made and confirmed,I felt a huge relief! okay on to JADE! - - - it was me and my husbands 15 year anniversary and my dinner reservation was at 530pm. I booked Jade for 315 for the 60 minute makeover. Upon meeting Jade, her friendly customer service already made me feel like I knew i was gonna love my service. She asked me for an inspo pic which I didnt have, but i knew what i wanted. So i went online and pulled up an inspo pic of my idea and she didnt waste a second and grabbed everything she needed. from the start of my eyeshadow to the last piece of my lashes, she made me feel beautiful. she made sure after every new product she put on my face, that i was in agreement with her. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience I purchased $164.55 worth of products (4 items) at Sephora on November 24 -- the day before the 50% off sale started -- but I never requested a return or a price adjustment. I only asked them to properly record my purchase. I handed over my membership card at checkout, but the cashier forgot to scan it, and the transaction never appeared on my account. Since I rely on my purchase history for reordering, I went back to the store for help. The cashier who listened to me was kind, but the Store Director, Mr. Kaleo Ulep, repeatedly said, "Without a receipt, we can't do anything," despite the fact that I showed him: Photos of all the items I purchased A credit card statement clearly showing the Sephora charge I usually throw away cosmetic receipts along with the product packaging right after opening them, because I understand that cosmetics typically cannot be returned, so I no longer had the receipt. That's why I brought photos of the items and asked if they could simply scan the same products on the shelf and record the purchase on my account. However, even after I showed him the product photos and my credit card statement, he made no effort to help and showed absolutely no willingness to resolve the issue. He did not try to scan my membership card, compare my photos with items in the store, or check any internal records. His complete lack of problem-solving was shocking. I told him I was disappointed and would not be returning to this store. As I was walking out, he made the situation even worse. In a loud, sarcastic voice that echoed throughout the store, he shouted: "All right~, all right!~That's totally fine~No problem at all~" It was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable behavior for someone in a management role. After years of being a loyal Sephora customer, this was the most disrespectful and unprofessional experience I have ever had. Sephora what one place I felt very intimidated to shop at as I don't wear much make up, though the staff are always helpful and are a delight as they greet and inform you of the specials, I just never knew what I really was looking for initially. Fast forward now as I've been trying to do more self care and have learned to do so with various products I agree with some who say they can be pricey and yes though if you are selective they can help you with much more affordable products like their Sephora line which even mom is loving using their make ups. You can shop online as well and do a site pick up and check store availability as we which is a convenience that I love, they do have bonus for birthdays and some really great sales as well so looking fresh doesn't have to be exhausting. Organized chaos! Went into Sephora Saturday at noon and this place was jiving! Staff everywhere helping everyone! Line to check out was long but moved quickly. So many products to sift through. So happy they had what I was looking for: Ordinary, Sol de Janeiro, Tatcha. Prices were clear and posted. Loyalty rewards program? Yes. Birthday rewards? Yes! It's been a while since I been here. I say a 4 because it's one of the best places to shop at for make-up, skin care or fragrance items. And NOT 5 stars because the price is a bit steep for a lot of us. There's a bit of sacrifice or financial adjustments that may needed, to buy things from here. However, Day after Thanksgiving sale was really something worth exploring here, this year. They actually had some great prices on make-up. Plus additional 30% off the entire purchase for members. I'm unsure how that worked, but it was something worth for many. Items were marked down from 25%-75% OFF. And it wasn't just any item. It was some really great items. Eye shadow pallets for $8, Lipstick & nail combo for $6, 2-tone highlighter for $5, foundation/ concealer pallets for $7. Lipgloss and liners were half off. I'm unsure if the prices are the same still, but it doesn't hurt to check it out, does it?! For me, reason why I went into this store is because not only did we see the sale and discounts, but because I needed to share this experience with my daughter. Showing her how to shop in a store like this AND during its most popular sale. I remember when I first went into Sephora's, it was with a friend of mine. He showed me HOW to shop in a place like this & how to use their sample products without asking for help. Which I was completely grateful because I never liked when people would assist in helping with make-up. They always make you feel obligated to buy something from them because they helped you. And sometimes, if you don't look like your gonna buy anything or look as if you have money to buy things, they dint help you at all. So learning how to help yourself with confidence, makes shopping much more enjoyable. With his help, I was able to buy me some nice things throughout the years I shopped here. Although it's been a while since last time I shopped in Sephoras, my account was still active & accessible. Now it was my turn to pay it forward to my one and only daughter. Yay!!! I'd say, this is one of the best places for any mother to bring her daughter to, so she can learn how to put on samples and test out products before purchasing them. There is Macys, but everything is behind the counter or at the counter. Which kind of intimidates you to try things because they convince you to buy the product. And if you don't, they won't help you much and kind of give the "get out of here" look with a smile. At least in here, they have stations set up with applicators for you to use throughout the store. Now, sometimes they ask if you need any help. But most times they let people try their products on. Which is very important because sometimes the colors just DOESNT look well on us & we regret purchasing them. I've often wondered why Sephoras was a bit pricey on their items. Aside of all that NAME BRANDS & STYLE, I realized that it's because they provide the customers with such service in sampling their products & they need that extra money to constantly provide to the customers. Without such provisions, customers wouldn't buy much. FOR SURE! Especially with the things they have now... it's totally worth it! And much more worth it when you catch their holiday sales or discounts. Do I recommend? YES I DO! To whom do I recommend this place for? Parents who are seeking a bonding experience with their youngsters or for people who want to feel pampered and special. I used to come here more often until Ulta opened up near me. But my latest visit brought me to Sephora because Ulta doesn't carry the Makeup Forever brand. At least that's what I think because I couldn't find it on their app. Anyways, I walked in and asked for Shay's help to color match me. I thought he would have used the device that scans my skin but he did it I would say in an old school way, by taking a sponge and applying product from the testers. Nothing wrong with that since I specifically asked to be matched to the Makeup Forever powder foundation. He was friendly and gave great advice. With a stroller in clutch, i did not feel unwanted. For the -1 Star, it's for the inconsistent customer service. Some visits I walk in just to browse and I am offered assistance. But on days where I specifically am looking for something in particular or need to be color matched, it's a bit difficult to find an available associate or one that's not trying to dodge you. Wasn't the case during my last visit though! It's been quite sometime since I've walked into Sephora because the makeup brands have been rearranged. Benefit and Tarte are on the right side of the store now.. If you were to look up high, it's a bit easy to find the brand you are looking for if you don't come here often. If you're indecisive between foundations, they'll give you a sample size. I absolutely love Sephora! Whenever I step into the store, someone will greet me and they have the BEST service! I love all the skincare and makeup brands. They also help me if I can't find anything which I love. I think Sephora is a great place to find makeup. To start, even though their things are very expensive, they don't let me down. I believe it is worth it for all the prices, in my opinion. They also have a lot of clean brands which I think is very nice. I tend to like more clean products because I have very sensitive skin. But it is nice they do offer some clean brands. For makeup, I'm on the dryer side but they do have some moisturizing makeup. I absolutely LOVE Kosas and Milk makeup. I got a stick blush from Milk makeup and it is a little oily, but it still does an amazing job. I got it in the shade "Dash," and it's a shiny, cute look. I came into Sephora at the time to just window shop and browse around the skincare section of the store. Out of the corner of my eye, a worker came around and introduced himself as Matt. He told me he's a licensed aesthetician and if I had any skincare questions or concerns, to not be afraid to ask him for help. I was a little intrigued because I had a good size collection of skincare items (so I know a bit about skincare). I had developed some cystic acne on my jawline and since I was wearing a mask. I thought I should show Matt how it looks and if he could recommend some products for me to try. Right off the bat, he asked me what's my skincare regime like what kind of cleansers do I use. He identified that the acne on my jawline was hormonal and to try and use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, every couple of days to help reduce it. He also recommended this amazing Murad spot treatment that I still use and love dearly. It flattens out my acne in a couple of days (if I remember to use it consistently) and I only need a bit of the treatment on a cotton swab to apply, so it'll last a long time. Overall, Matt is such a gem in the store! He's nice, soft-spoken and should be recognized for his excellent customer service! My daughter and I went today to exchange her Christmas gift. We walked around looking for someone to help her pick something out and asked the heavy set Caucasian lady at the checkout counter for assistance. She told my daughter that if she needed help with makeup, it would cost $75! WTH? She found a girl who could not be more uninterested in helping her and chose her items. When we went to check out, the same lady at the counter rang her up to do the exchange. The box that the gift set was clearly unopened with the gift receipt taped to the top where the box opens. The lady took the gift receipt off the top of the box where it was taped and started opening the box while asking if the products were used. I replied no and that the box was unopened (obviously) as she continued to open each container to see for herself. It was unnecessary and insulting. I came here on Friday which was the first day they reopened. Had to wait in line but was well worth it. I wanted to try out some products I have seen people on u tube use. I was very pleased with my purchases. I bought the new Bobbi Brown foundation to powder. I used this yesterday and love it. Has sunscreen in it. I also got a sample size of the hourglass primer. This is a good primer to put under your foundation. I got my favorite perfume which is Jadore. I picked up the Ole Henriksen eye cream. Loving this! It works! The last thing I got was a Bobbie Brown lipstick. I love all the products I got! I spent around $200 and got a free tote. Cool! I will return if I come back. Only negative was waiting in line. I have an on again, off again relationship with this store. I love makeup, then I don't really care for it. So, it really isn't you, it's me. When I'm in the mood for makeup, Sephora is a nice, sometimes one stop shop. I can get affordable and comparable makeup from the Sephora line. My absolute fave Kat Von D is sold here. Other brands like Urban Decay, Two Faced, Makeup Forever, Becca... huge faves, just to name a few. Not only can I get makeup, but they also sell cosmetic tools like brushes, sponges, lash curlers, etc... And it seriously doesn't stop there because they also have hair care, skin care, perfumes and who knows what else?! Although you could definitely find it all, it can be pricey. Which is why I just act like a horse with blinders, stay in my lane and focus on what I NEED! If you are a makeup addict though, make sure you sign up for the reward program. Free gift on your birthday, accumulate points as you purchase and if you get to a certain level I'm sure there are a lot more perks. Obviously, I've never achieved such greatness... NEX barely had any on the shelves & Amazon didn't carry the shade I needed. The make-up clerk at NEX said they've been having supply chain issues even post covid but still will carry the product. When I walked into Sephora, I was immediately greeted by a couple of friendly associates who directed me to my brand. I was delighted that they had more product on their shelves than NEX. The associate explained they had just gotten a shipment in, good timing on my part! They had only 1 of the 2 items I needed. The associate said they do normally carry that product but it was not on this shipment. I inquired about a substitute similar to what I like & the gal recommended another brand. I like the fact that the employees seem to have a certain amount of knowledge about the various make-up products to answer questions. I recently had an AMAZING experience (5 star) at Ulta Beauty in Kailua. The associate that was working magic on my face used a bunch of products that I decided to buy at Sephora because: 1. They're running a $15 off purchase of $75 or more (with no restrictions on products) 2. I had a gift card. Pearlridge Mall is open until 10 p.m. because of the Holidays. I entered this Sephora at 7:30 p.m. and it was a ghost town. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of associates that asked if I need help. But I QUICKLY realized that they knew little to nothing about the products and seem bothered that I was even asking. I tried on a BEAUTIFUL lip stain by Nars at Ulta and I was curious if someone at Sephora could apply it with the same attention to detail. I asked an associate to show me how to apply it, she was apprehensive and basically dragging her feet. . . I found out shortly why. Ever heard of coloring outside the lines? My lips looked like they were an extra in a horror movie. But wait there's more . . . the girl doing my makeup went and got light concealer (that did not even match my complexion) to cover the red lipstick. I looked in the mirror and I had messed up lips with rings of white around my mouth. My face must've said everything because she responded, "You can take it off if you want." read more

The customer service here has always been hit-or-miss. This time was definitely a miss. I stopped by because I received an email about a 20% off promotion for VIB Members so I figured what better time to treat myself. I received the unemotional stale greeting at the door and walked it. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday night, but it was like finding a needle in a hay stack when it came to finding anyone to get any type of help. I had to wait in line at the register just to ask the cashier if I could get some assistance with a product, and only then did someone else on the sales floor appear. It's like they were hiding, trying to make themselves "busy" or something. After I was able to find what I needed, but mostly wanted LOL, I bought my things and left. When I noticed that I didn't get my 20% off I turned around stood back in line. When I explained to the cashier the issue and showed her a snap shot of the 20% communication I got, she simply dismissed me saying that it was a mistake, "sorry you don't get it," and, "try come back next week for a possible 10% discount for everyone else." I need to get over a mild phobia of going into cosmetic or beauty supply stores....I suppose I have this insecurity because I rarely wear make-up. Oh, I'd rather be able to say that I can get ready for any occasion within 5 minutes or at most, 10 minutes. Alas, my quick skincare regimen was about to get slowed down as we planned to travel. I chose to go to this branch instead of the busier and sometimes chaotic Ala Moana store. The Pearlridge store is laid-out the same way as its Ala Moana and Waikīkī stores. Yet, I felt more comfortable here because right from the get go, I was greeted with a smile and everyone was so willing to assist me. None of the sales representative appears to be pushy either. I started to head to the cosmetic line counter that I have used in the past when I could feel myself "chickening out". My fears of purchasing cosmetics then abandoning them because I wouldn't be able to duplicate the same as their make-up artists quickly washed over me. So instead, I asked the sales representative for body skin care products. I have sensitive skin and prefer to not use much chemicals or artificial ingredients . Sorry, I forgot the name of the friendly, cheery and helpful associate who helped me. She took the time to ask me specific questions as she showed me several products and I ended up with a couple of products that appealed to my needs. She got me signed up for their loyalty and online purchase program. It's pretty cool to get free samples of different products as you purchase or you can choose to earn points to later redeem for deluxe-sized samples. The setup of this location is the exact same setup as the Ala Moana location. They have the skincare section in the back of the store, cash wrap in the middle, and the cosmetics in the front section of the store. I'm always at the Ala Moana store because I live in town. I'll venture out here if the item I'm looking for is sold out. I find that the associates at this store are more laid back and friendly than the ones at Ala Moana. Over here, they're helpful but not looking over your shoulder at every turn. You can roam the store and try out the testers. I've always had excellent customer service at this location. I had ordered some products online. I got a text that my package was delivered but I never received it. I was at Pearlridge later that day, so I went into the store and informed the associate. She asked me for my order number to see what I purchased. She then called the customer service hotline and told them what happened. I got the replacements in the mail a week later and it was a substantial order. I got free shipping. Either the store just ate it or they had insurance on it. Some of my favorite brands that they carry are Urban Decay, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Marc Jacobs, Nars, Bite, Tarte, Smashbox, and Hourglass. read more

I seriously love this store. It's my favorite Sephora because it's relatively quiet and I don't have to fight off the herds of mall-shoppers like I do at Ala Moana. Plus, this is where the most amazing Tata Harper consultant is, and I kid you not, those products will change your life. She also does makeovers with Stila brand, and I found her on their special facial day where she did a 30 min free Tata Harper facial and my skin has never looked so good. Located in the Pearl Ridge Shopping Mall, Second Floor, of UpTown of the Mall. Placed right in front of the escalator. Nice&Stocked, Clean, and Fully Staffed. Prices vary on each product. But normally stocked with top of the line, worth buying beauty products, etc. Some employees were nice&very well informed. Whilst one in particular that helped my friend on a concelar seemed a little rude, slightly rushing us, & pre-judged her because my friend wasn't really dressed "DID UP" that day. She was sadly mistaken tho, my friend is a rich bitch, & would have dropped $tack$ if she didn't receive shitty customer service from that bitch. LOL just sayin, don't judge a book by its cover. Jake with the silver wig and pointy fake boobs decided I'd be the one he wanted to give major attitude to. I was with my toddler waiting first in line to check out. I was the only one in line. I saw something to my left that I thought would be a great gift for someone. As soon as I turn around this he/she had their palms on the surface by the register and clearly was staring at me the whole time with attitude.. quickly straightens up and yells at me "You ready?" Which takes me by surprise cuz wtf is your problem bro. Now he continues to give me attitude with his body language and another co worker of his comes and works the left register and they exchange looks so clearly this he/she is comfortable giving this kind of attitude. I'm giving off attitude right back with my body language and how I'm replying to his questions and this guy asks me "Are you okay?" Haha wtf this was really happening to me. Jake was so bothered by me looking at products that's meant to catch your attention while in line that I actually purchased. Sephora pls stop hiring people that are insecure , toxic, immature, can't handle their emotions and get too personal with customers while in uniform. And while I was waiting by the entrance for the manager Kaleo.. he comes to the girl who I spoke to about my complaint and who asked if I wanted the manager.. now he/she is acting preppy and all of a sudden was so interested in his coworkers nails having a convo about that lol. I know what you're trying to do... for what? lol anyways as soon as Kaleo the manager comes Jake disappears. The manager apologized to me even tho it was Jake who should've done that. I just hope Kaleo understood that if that happened to him... he would've felt insulted as well. Jake was too comfortable being his icky toxic self around his coworkers so I don't think anything is gonna happen but I hope I'm wrong. Oh well... sticking to online shopping. My mistake for going in just cuz I was there having a day with my daughter. Also, find another profession if you're that insecure Jake.. and I know it's insecurity cuz anyone who's happy with themselves don't project nasty behavior towards people they don't even know. Haven't stepped into a Sephora in about 4 years, so this visit was a real treat. After browsing around for 5 mins, I was approached by Tara. She asked if I was doing okay, so I asked her for a make-up wipe since I had swatched the heck out of eye shadow primers. I should have known to just stick to Urban Decay's Original formula, but hey, everything in here is eye candy so I sampled away. Then I came across the Tarte Cosmetics corner. OMG! I was so thrilled to see this brand here. I've been ordering online from them for about a year and am always hesitant on choosing a cheek color. Well, I was able to test them out and ended up with "Flawless" since Tara mentioned she personally uses that color, too! At the register, the young gentleman that helped me found that I had two rewards accounts. He ended up merging both and updated my email address. Cool! Sephora is sephora, what is there not to like. But what impressed me was that overall as a company, they are taking social distancing very seriously. I visited both this location and the Ala Moana location. Both locations are keeping a very close count on the number of people in the store, even if it means that there is a line to get into the store. What I also liked about this Pearlridge location was that they made a effort to get customers in and out as quickly as possible. This allows the next customers to enter sooner and also minimizes the amount of time the shopping customer is in a confined space. While we were in line, they asked us what we were looking for. I had no idea what I was planning to buy for Christmas, but the gentleman in front of me knew exactly what he needed and even had a picture of it. The employee managing the line quickly walkie takied an employee inside to asisst the gentleman directly to the product. That customer was in and out so quickly thanks to their help! read more

I like shopping for makeup and my items for my hair and face. This locations is always a hit or miss with customer services but overall it does it job. Why I say it's a hit and miss because some cashier will offer samples and some will not till you ask for the free samples. I think if you do for one person you should do for all. All I can say I spend a lot of money in this store. I shop in and out and reading reviews about products. Just sales person are willing to help you out. So I found these classes on their website by accident. I was actually looking for makeover/consultation. Which is free with $50 purchase I believe. We signed up for FOUNDATION CLASS: I signed my daughter And I up. We received an email confirmation, then a courtesy call the day before. It started on time, started off by the color iq thing which helps them match foundation - that's magic because the color they brought was perfect! They explained step by step(and tip quips in between)-our class was full. All the consultants were helpful, answered questions, and offered different colors if something wasn't quite right. Like if they noticed a color didn't work, they stepped in and say "try this instead"....and didn't let you just apply some off looking color.
