L'Occitane is my go-to whenever I want to pick up a nice skincare gift. They used to be located next to Longs on the second floor but moved next to Neiman Marcus on the third floor. I panicked when I didn't see the store next to Longs anymore back around Mother's Day and called them to see if they were still at Ala Moana. Thankfully the nice salesperson answered right away and told me their new location--phew! I usually get their lemon verbena shower gel and hand lotion for my mother-in-law, since that's her favorite scent. My favorite hand lotion is their almond, although I really like their floral scents like orchid and lavender too. read more

Jessica was working when we went and I hope she's working when we go back. The store itself is nicely set up with a sink in the store so you can try some different soaps or body wash. My daughter in-law bought some shampoo with no suds and body wash. The shampoo is pretty cool. Kinda feels like putting conditioner in your hair. I haven't tried the body wash yet. read more

I guess this is really is a + for the Honolulu Store. Drive in and buy your stuff in person. I was lazy, ordered online and delivery is +30days. Seriously how do you even ship something that slow? Is there a special form at the post office to make it slower than bulk mail? I email customer service, submitted a review to their website - but it's just Robo replies from a trash company trying to pretend it's a luxury brand. Just purchased the 2019 $100 Fukubukuro bag. Very disappointed. The bag was supposedly worth $200 but did not have any full sized products (aside from the bar of soap). It was a bunch of samples. In addition to the samples, there was no variety. They included 7 sample sized hand cremes, 3 of which were IDENTICAL, 2 lavender bubble bath sample bottles (again, identical), and 4 shower oils, 2 of which were IDENTICAL. If it wasn't bad enough getting sample sized products for $100, they should be sure not to give duplicate products. Would not recommend buying the more expensive Fukubukuro products from this store. Go with the $50. Less chances of getting the same products in sample sizes. read more

Scents are lovely but employees could be a little more helpful and friendly. On my first visit to the store everyone was the least helpful, i bought a crapload of their Almond products anyway and thought to myself that I could shop online when it's time for refills. I never wanted to return. Although very hesitant to go back, I got myself to return because I needed them refills. My experience the second time was favorable...no it was not the manager. Note: the manager was there the first time. So three stars for the awesome experience the second time and great products. -2 points for the 2 employees who cared less about the companies sales goals the first time. read more

My boss really likes this store and has taken me in here a couple of times to look at their lotions and room sprays. They have beautiful glass bottles with some lovely aromas, but unfortunately the fancy bottles are a little too slippery for our clients, so much of the expensive sprays have gone to waste. I felt so awful throwing out our last bottle that was practically untouched, but it was leaking all over our shelf because of a hairline fracture at the very bottom. So conflicted. I love L'Occitane hand cream -- it's the only hand cream fairly widely available that actually works. What I could do without, though, is the "tourist bias" at the Ala Moana store. I know we live in a very tourist-oriented state, but good grief. I was in the store the other day, perusing the various products while an employee tended to a Japanese tourist and gave the tourist customer an obseqious "domo arigatou gozaimasu." I did not get such greetings, and my questions were met flatly with "duhhhhh" answers. I felt particularly rejected after I'd heard the tourist treated so nicely, so I only walked out with the products I'd already anticipated buying, not exactly having been tempted by the employee's sour disposition. If it weren't for the convenience of this location, I would gladly take my business to the Royal Hawaiian store instead. read more

I remember that their shea butter hand cream was the creme de la creme of hand creams, so when I needed to get a shave cream for my hubs, I thought of trying L'occitane's. One of the girls there was very informative about the differences between the shaving products. Upon looking some more, I decided to look at their face creams, and Kelly informed me of a promotion where if you get a face cream plus one other item, you get a free bag of samples. The free bag of samples itself is worth over 100$. Cool beans! She talked me into getting this face cream that won 1st place in a European research study among over 100 top creams. I think Guerlain won 2nd place. She was so enthusiastic and honest about its performance, that I had to try it. She even encouraged me to return it if i'm not completely satisfied with it. She even hooked me up with a bunch of samples since she knew I was going on a trip soon. That's what I call AWESOME customer service! read more

This is a review on the actual store, not necessarily the GREAT products in the store. Because don't get me wrong, L'Occitane products rock - thing is, I could shop at an outlet, another store, or even online to get their awesome line of products. Customer service is hit or miss at this particular location. Sometimes it's ok, but other times, they totally cater to the Japanese tourists. I wish the customer service was consistent with such a great bunch of products. At checkout, I was a little disappointed that after a shopping trip there where I spent over $75 that I didn't even get one free sample. Whenever I shop online at L'Occitane, it's free sampes galore. EXPENSIVE for what you get. It doesn't matter if the products come from France, Italy, Spain, or Ewa... it's way over priced. My wife wanted to get some gifts for her family in Japan before her trip. We stopped here and she looked and looked, than asked if we have a concern about the cost. I not knowing the cost said, "Sure, it's for your family". Well..... I picked-up a bar of soap. Nothing at all fancy. No scent. No special ingredients, nothing aside from being a square chunk of soap. White and very boring. +$12. Excuse me? What about the packaging? It's wrapped in a plastic bag. It's nothing more than a bar of Ivory Soap in a chunk form for 8X the cost in a regular shop... Then I looked closer. It's 72% Olive oil. I'm inexperienced in "Olive oil soap". Maybe I was too quick to judge. As I looked around the store more and more... the more interesting things became. Sure, there is Bath and Body Works down the street (inside the mall) or Macys, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, etc. with better products at comparable prices. Maybe. I've never seen 72% Olive oil soap in those stores. THEREFORE, this fills the nitch for "exclusive" gifts. Would I use these on myself? You bet! Sure, this "seems" like a little ladies shop but Real Men can go here too. Don't be afraid. It's not scary. They don't bite. Go in, look around at everything and anything, then choose the best of the best. Gifts show your love of the other person; dig into your Gold or Platinum card and get that "something special here. My family and I first learned about L'Occitane from staying at the Hualalai resort on the Big Island. We fell in love with their clean smelling products and the fact that they weren't overly floral and got the job done. Before their Honolulu store, I only saw stores in airports and I would stock up on products then. But now I can go any time I want and I don't have to worry about lugging it home! Awesome! All their products are delightful and repair my hands like nothing. I can get soft and luxurious hands any time I want! My dad has dry hands too and their shea butter hand creams work wonders! Also, their after shave gel is awesome for people like my dad too... not too smelly and it does its job perfectly. My only complaint is their high prices! This is really a 3.5. I love the products. I was disappointed in the customer service I did (not) receive on Sunday. Extremely disappointed. There were three sales people in the store. However, two were having a conversation and did not ask whether I needed help. The one local Filipina sister helped me. She let me try a face wash and let me know when I could come back for the Red Rice Cleanser--great product which they're discontinuing. If all of the people were like her, this would have been a 5 even if they didn't have the product I wanted! read more

Being that the holiday season is one of the busiest seasons of the year, you would think that L'0ccitane would be a bit more aware of the problems that their website has been having in spite of their announcements that advertise "special deals" that are meant to last only 24 hours! There is no phone assistance available until 8 AM EST and I've been checking in their site for over two hours now just to try to pay them, and to try to close their special deal for the season.......its 2:15 AM HST!!! I'm moving on to some better deals as neither phone assistance nor IT assistance is currently available. I'm going to support a different company that can get the job done RIGHT! read more
