My previous review is still entirely valid. This time, I went in to return some items and browse some new products. An employee standing at the first aisle, a little beyond the door greeted my husband and I. She blocked our path forward and asked if we wanted to exchange (the items to be returned were in a Sephora bag) or only complete a return. Since she blocked our path, I opted to only complete a return since it was clear we were unwelcome to browse. Again, my recommendation is to only purchase from the Pasadena or Santa Anita locations for better service and selection of products. read more

Quite disappointed by my experience here. I came in on a Saturday afternoon in search of a contour stick. There were 2 employees chatting near the door, so I approached them and asked if anyone was able to assist. One of the employees put the ask out via her mic and I waited for about 5 minutes until she finally agreed to help since no one else was coming. I'm not the most familiar with contour sticks so I asked for some suggestions. Although the employee was helping me, it felt like my questions were more of a bother than anything. When I asked for her opinion on which shade to choose (clearly showing my lack of knowledge), she simply said that it's up to personal preference and seemed irritated that it was taking me some time to decide. Normally when I go into a Sephora, the associates are eager to help and very willing to give feedback. Unfortunately, I also found the store to be a bit dirty. When I went to checkout, there was a used tissue near the cash register. Although this location is quite local, this poor first experience might be enough to have me shop at other locations. I would recommend this location if you have a specific item you want to purchase. However, if you're hoping to receive helpful recommendations, this may not be the location for you. read more

I want to share my recent experience in hopes that Sephora will address what I believe is an important quality control issue. I placed two online pickup orders and, upon opening them at home, discovered that both products showed signs of prior use. The body spray lid was dirty with brown smudges all around it, and the eyebrow pencil was visibly used. As a customer, I expect brand new, untampered products, especially when ordering cosmetics. I understand that returns happen, but restocking used beauty products is UNHYGIENIC and unfair to customers who have no way of knowing what they're receiving. When I returned to the store to exchange the items, the interaction with staff left me feeling accused rather than helped. I hope Sephora will improve both its restocking policies and the way staff handle these situations, as this experience has affected my trust in the brand. Haven't been in a Sephora for quite a while, usually go to Ulta but it's further, it was late, I was tired so decided to go. Walked in and while I was greeted by a bunch of very young girls standing at the front door, no one bothered to come over to me to ask if I needed any help looking for a specific product. Which I did. Many of the girls walked past me as they chatted about their personal life. I was looking for a new hair product so I was at the entrance of the store where they were standing and laughing, but no one came over to assist me. So I just left. You know, I really wanted to have a good place to go to especially since it's in a convenient place. When I went there a couple of months ago, I felt like all eyes were on everyone. I sometimes like to take my time deciding on what I'd like to purchase. It took more than 5 minutes for someone to ring me up at the back register. It wasn't posted that their reps can take payment at the entrance. I believe they have this in place because of the "robbery" that happened a while back. The aromas are just too strong for me. But the brand is very consistent. Service - Billie was 5 stars. He spent so much time with my daughter. Educated her, suggested products, taught her to avoid products, etc. Billie was the main reason this was a 5 star review, thank you! Price - $89, expensive but worth it. Nice clean store, quality selection; I was helped by Christina who was super friendly and non-judgmental when I told her about my skin condition which I'm super sensitive about. She instantly had a great recommendation and helped me sample a cream specifically for eczema that I never heard before and I thought I've tried everything. It felt really good on my hands with no reaction and I made to so buy it and also the balm from the same brand. Looking forward to seeing how it works for my skin in the long-term. I come here often customer service is pretty good but this last time it was not very good. I made a return that I purchased through DoorDash and the girl that helped me was patient and amazing. This return was kinda difficult and she was very professional. However, I was shopping for a while and people asked if I needed help and when I said yes they were annoyed. They didn't seem knowledgeable and didn't take the time to offer me different products and test them out. I was friendly and they were not having it. I had a good experience with my first time at this store. A friend and I went, so I could get a consultant to help match a foundation color. Kenya helped us, and she was so warm, patient, and friendly. Yay for her! Give her a raise! She was so patient, because my face color is hard to match, and she gave really good suggestions and cleaned her tools thoroughly after every application. The store is usually pretty crowded, so parking gets filled up. I signed up for membership awards and bought some stuff. Keep up the good work! read more

That place is great, very clean, less traffic than other places. But it's close too earlier. Too many employees standing at the door to try to helping customers, but I feel they are trying to watch the stores make sure all the products at the door are safe. Their service is great. But they sold out the birthday gift. I was walking far away finally got there, then no more birthday gifts. I think the manager should order more birthday gifts and not let it run out. Last year I went there fur birthday gift, there is only one item is available . When I visit Arcadia store, there are multiple items opinions available for customers, they have never run out. Here is closer, but less birthday gifts selection. Luckily the employee said can offer me store credit for sold out birthday gift. That made my day better. I normally am not one to step into beauty stores, but whenever I need to find the largest selection of Innisfree products outside of online stores, this is where I go to find it! The location is centrally located in a very shopping friendly area of the SGV, so it can be packed and crowded. However, I have no issues coming here to look for the perfect Innisfree face wash or skin toner because of how well laid out the store is and how friendly the associates are. Not to mention, everything seems to always be well stocked and where they should be. On this particular trip, Megan the associate was so friendly and caring, making sure that what I was looking for was in stock and even making recommendations for other facial products that would fit my needs! They definitely will come in handy if my usual Innisfree products aren't in stock, or I want to try something new. She even also saw things to the end by helping me at the check out and taking the time to look up my rewards account I forgot about. Talk about looking out above and beyond any usual service! I checked out this Sephora location for the first time during my lunch break earlier today, Monday 2/26/2024. I prefer buying things online for convenience, but I had to do an exchange (you can't exchange online for Sephora, only return), so I had to go to a physical location. I had no idea that there was a new Sephora in this plaza but after looking at the store locator online and Yelp, here I was. Store: Even though the location is a little smaller than other locations, they still carry all the brands. I had to ask where the Rare Beauty section was (it's actually in the front for anyone who's wondering) and I was happy to do some swatching of the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush since it's hard to tell the colors online. Of course, the display items were a little dirty, but that's to be expected. It looked like they only had a few blush products out, but I ended up asking someone and she helped me grab the shades that I wanted (I decided with 'worth!'). So pro tip, if you don't see a product you want, just ask first before you leave just in case they can pull the item from the drawer for you! Customer Service: The lady who helped me (I didn't catch her name) didn't seem exactly the warmest in the beginning, but since I went to her like 3x (1. To find where the Rare beauty area was, 2. To ask if they had some extra products in the floor, and 3. To ring me up), she got progressively nicer lol. Since I had to do an exchange and the sales tax percentage was slightly more expensive here (currently 10.25% in Alhambra), I had to pay a 1 cent difference in my exchange for the same product (different shade) and they only took card. No problem, since I don't carry pennies with me. One thing I wanted to note is that there isn't a physical 'front counter,' but instead, you're supposed to find a worker and he/she can help check you out with their handheld device. I didn't wait too long to get serviced, but I think this might be difficult in a busy store. Parking: This plaza gets pretty busy and the parking spots are kind of small. Luckily, I came at a random time and I was able to get a parking spot right in front of the store. You should be able to find parking since there's an open lot + enclosed parking structure, but it might just be a little further. All in all, I had a pleasant experience. I'll probably be back if I need to physically go to a Sephora store since this is the closest location to me. :) read more

Yesterday was my first time at this Sephora, and ironically enough, when all the deals were popping off. So girl, it was packed! I had originally gone in just to get the Topicals Faded cream but despite it seeming hectic, Roy was able to answer all of my additional questions. I needed something to revive my hair, revive this skin, and he gave it AND other suggestions‍. Mind you, he asked prior to see what my skincare routine was so that he could suggest adequately. This is in a busy plaza in downtown Alhambra so you might struggle with parking during peak hours. They have a lot of staff wandering around but they might be talking amongst themselves. They keep the general store pretty clean, the samples seemed relatively well kept and the cleaning supplies are fully stocked. I enjoy my time wandering Sephora checking out all the makeup and skin care they have to offer. I almost always get looped into buying a new product bc it feels nice or the color/texture is good. read more

Today I happened to be in a rush, I entered the store they asked me if I needed help and I replied No thank you and kept walking to the area where I needed to get one item. Then 3 staff members (including the first staff that greeted me that seemed like the manager) started following me like if I was going to steal something. I know this location has had a lot of shoplifting incidents but being that I was with my 3 year old son it was uncalled for. Sometimes customers are in a rush! I answered each staff member that checked in on me so I was not being rude or "sketchy." This Sephora hires the worst people. Customer service is terrible! There is no parking due to so many other shops at Plaza. I recommend that you shop at the Sephora inside Kohl's (Alhambra) on Fremont Avenue + Mission Road - BIG parking lot. It's happened at least a handful of times and it's very frustrating. Probably because it's a smaller Sephora they are out of items often.
