they switched the hair dye and nail aisles since i've been there last; so i was pretty much walking around cluelessly lollll. sweet jennifer in the front was soooo amazing and helpful. she walked me to where the hair dye was moved to and then was able to pull up the dye i last bought in the system for me cause i couldn't remember the color i got last time. when they didn't have any left in stock up front she went to the back and grabbed me some of the last ones. i really appreciated her and her help. she's the best of the best frfr. thank you jennifer read more

I always have a good experience at this Sally's location, the employees are super helpful and willing to answer questions, unfortunately that wasn't the case this time. My daughter went up to an employee for a question, the employee basically said that what my daughter planned to do wouldn't work. And I wouldn't have had a problem with her very curt response if she offered advice on how to do it the right way instead of walking away. This was a deeply unpleasant experience and I expect my questions to be answered with respect. read more

I was in Pasadena CA on a work assignment. I went into Sally's about a year ago and a black girl happened to be helping another customer, so I waited for her, she was so knowledgeable about hair color stuff and suggested a product and it worked so well on my hair, I called the store and told them about her, I wasn't sure of her name Amanda or Mariah. Everyone was standing there pretending to not see me. I'm back again in Pasadena and was looking for her on Friday and today. Nice young lady, need more people like this. read more

came in today wanting to buy hair dye to swap my color, I asked the employee is they had a bleach free hair remover . She chuckled and said "all of them have bleach" .....I'm a cosmetology student and it surprised me they don't know about bleach free remover... I would assume you know cause the girl had blue hair, I don't even know why I asked the other girl when she had basic hair . Anyways , the chuckle was unnecessary and rude. The floors are dirty and the whole setup is stressful with all the boxes around. Maybe instead of talking about their bank statements , they should tidy the place up. The store is great as far as merchandise, however, the manager is a complete jerk. An item was left out of my bag and after calliing, I was assured that it would be held for me upon my return from out of town. Manager refused to give me the item claiming that she knew nothing about it. She wouldn't even come out from her office to talk to me. Even the sales girl played dumb. Distric manager was just as rude and clueless as the store manager..guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Eventually, their customer service department in Texas decided to send me a gift certificate. I will go all the way to Los Angeles to use it before I give that stupid, rude manager the satisfaction of using it in her store. The item was worth $6.00, and for that I will never shop there again...thus they have now lost an average of $100 a month of business over six dollars. I don't usually have issues with this place, because it usually has all the things I need (hair ties, bobby pins, fine tooth comb, round brush). I recently purchased some flexi rods (for my wet - set, whenever my friend teaches me how to do it; i refuse to pay loads of money for something i can learn to do on my own, for free), a blow dryer and got a new flat iron with that purchase. I do notice that there always seems to be boxes of products in the aisles. Maybe that's a good thing?!? Business is good ? I went in a couple days ago to purchase a "donut" for my buns to give them more volume, cause really who wants a struggling lifeless bun? Not that I have that problem anyway, but I wanted to try it. I asked the employee if they had any in (last week they didn't), she grabs one out of the big box of products lol! Although Sally's is in my opinion over-priced (for reg beauty items like nail polish, and hair accessories) I must say I always come here. Recently I have decided to go natural (which means I won't be using harsh chemical products now any straightening tools on my hair) and Sally's is one of the only Beauty Supplys that I have found to have products for Afro-American Hair. I love that they have As I Am Naturally which is my go to products for Leave-In conditioners and any other mild shampoos and conditioners. read more

This store keeps only bare minimum stock on its shelves, meaning you probably won't find what you need and will have wasted precious time you could have spent driving elsewhere. Other Sallys don't seem to have this problem. The staff is friendly enough, but very low-information. I definitely wouldn't base any hair/beauty purchases on their input. Unfortunately Employees don't know anything about toning hair. The point of a brick and mortar is to have expert support. I would have been better off if I just ordered everything online. What a waste. Ends up she recommended the wrong toner (even though I knew based on research it wasn't right) but I trusted her because Sally's employees can "help you". She didn't even know the basics of color. Just gave me a generic toner that (hours later) did nothing for my hair besides more damage. Sally's you probably should invest in your employees. My daughter and I love coming to this store. I shop predominantly for shampoo/conditioner and nail supplies and my daughter shops for hair and body products. Sally Beauty Supply has a wonderful assortment of nail polish colors, nail files and everything for me to be able to give myself a professional manicure and pedicure. The store is clean and always well stocked. The employees are helpful and always willing to assist and give advice on products. I've often found myself walking around the store aimlessly up and down the aisles to make sure I don't walk out forgetting to buy something. I've never felt uncomfortable due to other customers or the staff. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but not intrusive. Sally's is my go to beauty supply store. And my daughter's as well! I'm a fan of this place, because it's the place where I get my rubberbands for my goat. That's pretty much it, they're close to home and share the strip mall space with my local Vons, Hong Kong Express, Tastees, and Subway that I've all been to...and yelped... Oh, what's cooler, is that Sally takes CC for the smallest of purchases. My baggy of rubberbands costs less than two bucks, one time I forgot my money at the house and the clerk said that they don't care, they'll accept CC for anything. That's awesome. I'm a fan of Sally Beauty Supply in general. I get almost all of my styling supplies from either this location or the one closer to home. But for this location and "trim it up Tuesday" (I cut hair nearby every Tuesday), this is my go to place for last minute supplies. They are well stocked and have knowledgeable employees and great deals on many of their items. I recently got a smaller hair trimmer for an amazing sale price. I'm sitting outside of this Sally's store waiting for my friend to finish shopping I had to leave before I slapped one of these broads in the face for trying to accuse me of stealing their Overpriced product. I told the dumb broad's that I have enough money to buy the whole store out and that they are real dumb for hovering over me and my friend the whole time we were in there because we are ready to spend a lot of money they tried to deny that they were acting suspicious but it was so obvious that that was the case at one point one of the workers couldn't find a nail polish that we were looking at so she accused us of stealing it but then ended up finding it And realizing that it was misplaced and not stolen by us. The store has everything I've needed for dying my hair, the staff are attentive and have always been able to answer in depth questions to assist me. I frequent this place because they have a much larger selection of products than some of the other nearby beauty supply stores. I really like their comb/brush section (they carry Denman's!!) and they cater to a large demographic with their product offerings. The staff is fairly knowledgeable, and if they don't know something they're honest about it which I value much more than being given misinformation. However, I'm not too fond of who I believe may be senior management and their notion that is okay to carry on conversations with an employee who is helping a customer if they switch from English to Spanish...First, it's just rude, let your employee give me their full attention. Secondly you're not talking about anything important- I speak spanish and you're only gossiping and it's not even good gossip! Yeesh let's be professional people! The lack of knowledge that is sometimes a bit too prevalent and the personal conversations in front of customers is why I'm taking off one star. Monica was very attentive and answered all of my questions and actually gave me her honest opinion in why i should or shouldn't use a certain product for my hair. She even help me pick out a color that goes with my skin tone . This is not for this exact Sally's Beauty Salon but it's the store I go to more frequently..... Sally's in general is expensive... it's very over priced.. I started doing acrylic nails and bought the acrylic liquid and powder for $36 and luckily there was a deal that when you buy the liquid the powder comes free..(acrylic liquid $36 and powder 1.3oz $16) At first I thought it was a good price because I didn't know anything about the price of the supplies but I went to a nail supply store and EVERYTHING WAS 10x CHEAPER nail liquid was $10 and powder 3.6oz was $10 read more

She noticed I was buying something that in another color was on sale. She went to see if they had any more and even checked the back without me asking.
