Sephora at the Beachwood Mall is ready for the holidays with shelves full of gift sets, festive crowd, and sparkling makeup. The store is most conveniently accessible via the main mall entrance (by CoHatch), it's on the first floor. It's your usual Sephora experience - well illuminated skincare/makeup and premier brands. INVENTORY: This Sephora has your expected assortment of beauty brands. I've noticed that they are now conveniently labeled at the top of the section. It's so easy to spot exactly what you need! Despite great selection, I stopped shopping at Sephora years ago due to my favorite brands pulled from the inventory. For instance, Origins is my favorite skincare brand but is now discontinued at Sephora. As a result, despite my love for the brand, I'm no longer a loyal shopper. I'm now in my clean gal era, and purchased one of my favorites - Fresh tinted lip balm in peony color ($26). It matched my makeup very well for the evening. It's always natural looking - no makeup look. MAKEUP SERVICES: I just stopped in for makeup services ($30 + tip) at the Beauty Studio at Sephora. I pre-booked online and was able to get evening appointment close to my occasion. You can pre-book various services online. I used to frequently drop in at other locations to get eye makeup done, it was quick and budget-friendly. Some of the makeup artists at Sephora locations are extremely gifted. I didn't have time or interest in full face of makeup although it was offered. Main reason is I'm very fair and Sephora's team very rarely can match foundation well. My eye makeup appointment was very expeditious (about 30 minutes). Did I get what I want? Absolutely not! I indicated what I wanted in an appointment form and during the appointment. I wanted bright emerald eyes to match my party's theme - The Emerald City. Did I get something I liked? Yes. I got a very subdued smokey eye and sparkly green eyeliner. It was very well and tastefully done but wasn't my vision at all. The makeup artist mentioned that bright eyes would be too bright with no full face of makeup. The main reason my look was impossible was because Sephora doesn't carry bright colors and leans into current fashion - naked eye. This seems like a huge miss considering it's holiday time and us gals want to sparkle. I can't believe that I'm the only one wanting bright pop eyes. I wish that products used were discussed with me during the appointment. Genuinely speaking I was only somewhat satisfied with my look. Very nice makeup artist, cute look, but not what I wanted. I'm unlikely to do another makeup look based on the makeup variety and looks. It's just not worth the investment if I can't achieve what I want. SERVICE: The service at the store wasn't so good. I wandered around the store for a while and no one offered assistance. Upon entry to the store, the employee at the door couldn't understand what service I'm visiting for. She was not friendly. I didn't at all get good impression about sales associates on the sales floor. The line was also moving painfully slow. At the same time, my makeup artist was quite friendly, was able to check me out right at the Beauty Studio. I appreciated her kindness. Overall, I'm not confident that I'll return to this store. There are a few Sephora locations that I love, but this store is not among them. I'm more likely to hire a makeup artist next time than visit this location. If you're looking for a specific brand offered by Sephora and want a quick transaction, it's an easy location to visit. read more

I needed foundation and concealer. I was tired. When I walked in I was greeted but not piled on. They gave me a few minutes to browse around then asked if I needed any assistance. I did and Dianne came over to help me out. She was really great. Knowledgeable about the products and reminded me how the seasons change skin tone. She was all around personable and funny. I had my hair done there and the young women that was assigned to do my hair was so unprofessional and it was unreal . She was hung over from a party the night before and was apparently not wanting to do her job.I went for a full sew-in and instead received a half done sew that was covered up by the top layer of hair so it appeared to be completed until I got home and lifted the hair in the back of my head and saw that there was a whole section of my hair that was not done. When I called back to complain about it to the owner I was directed back to the young women who did my hair. So I went back for her to complete the job. When I got there I told her that I wanted to start all over with new hair because I was not happy with what she had done. So already irritated she told the owner what I wanted and the owner proceeded to go off on me because she thought I was there just for the completion of where she left off. While I had the right to change my mind on what I wanted. And being that I got screwed on my 1st visit there should not have been a problem. But they thought that I wasn't going to pay for the additional work which was not the case, but did feel that I should have gotten discount because of having to return due to her screw-up. The owner was very rude, errogant and obnoxious to me in front of her other customers to point of that they were talking about how rude she was after she had left the salon. She mentioned that she worked at a funeral home doing hair for the deceased, Which is where she should be at all times and not around the general public. She was a total ghetto BITCH! read more

The staff was incredibly high handed, rude, couldn't be bothered to assist with questions or product location. They ignored me completely until I finally had to accost them for help and even then it was very grudgingly given . There are other Sephora stores in the area. Definitely skip the one in beachwood mall unless you want to waste your time and hang out with mean people. read more

I got colored matched by kate back in february. the foundation makes me look ashy. i thought the lightening made me look okay, but i was still too light. i tried to use the foundation again recently and i still look the same, ashy. i asked if i could exchange my foundation since i've only used it twice and they told me it was passed 60 days so they can't accept it. i am very disappointed because this is the color THEY RECOMMENDED ME and it's not good. Then the store offered to color match me again in the quick studio fix for $15 for 15 minutes. Why am i paying more money for an issue that they caused ??? read more

This was my first great experience with a makeup store. I needed to exchange a foundation for a different one. Usually that's not something that the people who work at A beauty store like to hear. The girl who worked on the floor not only said it's ok, but also took time to remove my makeup and try on two different foundations, preceded by showing me how to prep my skin. I wish I could give 10 stars! I went in on a Saturday morning to grab a tinted moisturizer but ended up spending over an hour with Dianne and Joy. I don't remember which helped me with the skincare and the other one helped me in fragrance, however, my skin has cleared up PHENOMENALLY because the recommended items. I've struggled with hyperpigmentation for YEARS and after 3 weeks, it's seriously so clear. & the perfume Joy had me buy was the Nest one that was just restocked & I've received so many compliments! Make up stores are just not my thing. I'm glad of that I suppose because they're expensive, smelly, and I'm a guy. So, there's just not much of a motivation for me to go into one of these places. Unless, a Christmas gift is needed, time is tight, and the budget is less than $100. So, I tried Sephora to accomplish this errand, and was very happy that I did. On entering the store, I wasn't bowled over by that overpowering odor of a million aromatic hydrocarbons entering your nostrils. Good ventilation I suppose. I was greeted by a Sephora Associate in just the right amount of time, and they had a couple of options for me almost right away. And, the item was on sale. Bonus. Checkout was a breeze, and they carefully wrapped up the purchase saving me time from having to finish that chore later. This store may have cured me of a lifelong aversion to getting even close to a cosmetics store. Fast, professional service, pleasant people to work with, and fair prices. And, no overwhelming smell! This store would always gets five stars if not for the thoroughly oppressive, annoying-as-hell staff who will NOT leave you alone! I got approached by no less than three people, two of whom asked if "I'm finding everything alright today" and the third of whom put a basket in my hands "for easy shopping today." let me tell you, like the Target phenomenon I mentioned in that review, I purposely do NOT take a basket at Sephora because it is way too easy to spend over a hundred dollars in the blink of an eye. Yesterday I was, thankfully, not shopping for myself but for someone else, so I issued control. The same annoying basket lady rang me up, and in her singsongy, plastic voice, was SUPER CURIOUS as to why I don't have a rewards card!!!! Like, OMIGOD! As a side note, I never do rewards cards, store credit cards, or the like, and am pissed anytime anybody asks me for my contact info upon checking out. Leave me the eff alone and let me buy stuff without the guarantee that I'll get an email a day from Sephora when I really can't be bothered to get out to the store more than once or twice a year! A candy store for girls... I can blow money faster in Sephora than anywhere else on the plantet. In a blink of an eye, there's a hundred bucks... but it's awesome. If you haven't been, you NEED to check it out. It is the perfect place for cosmetics and fragrances. You can easily test all the products and the staff are very knowledgeable if you have questions. You can request a sample of just about anything. The lines they carry are mainly ones you will not find in department stores (they do have Clinique and Lancome). The lines are trendier, younger and more luxurious. Many are fragrance-free, which I like. They also have an excellent selection of quality skin care. Personally, I find most department store brands to be disappointing and over-priced. Sephora's prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Sephora has the good stuff. Some of my favs are Urban Decay and Make Up Forever. Not just for the ladies, they have tons of men's fragrances and skin care items as well. Guys, if you don't know what gift to get your girl, get her a Sephora gift card or some Philosophy bath & shower gel. She will love it, guaranteed! read more

Don't shop there, simple. They only have quality brands, and rewards but i can never afford the makeup. They do free mini makeovers which are cool. The workers are helpful most of the time. You can sample all the makeup and there are sanitary disposable sample applicators. One in a while you get free mini makeup if you sign up for rewards. read more

A copy of this complaint will be forwarded to The Ohio Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division. 18 fraudulent purchases were made on my Sephora Gift Card and either there was a data breach that Sephora did not disclose to the customers or Sephora Beachwood (Ohio) is selling compromised Gift Cards. On May 5, 2022 I activated my Sephora Gift Card and made a purchase through my Sephora Beauty Insider account. On May 12, 2022 I checked my gift card balance and was shocked to see that it was zero. I immediately contacted Sephora at 1-888-860-7897. I had difficulty finding someone who understood what the problem was. I never lost Sephora Gift Card, it was (and is) in my possession and I never shared the number with anyone. Only from the customer services representative did I learn that on May 5, 2022, immediately after my purchase someone made 18 separate purchases until the card balance was zero. The customer service representative Brianna was professional but only made a vague commitment to "look into" suspicious activity. I was never contacted by Sephora again. They clearly do not see this as a problem. People should be aware that it may not be safe to buy a gift card from the Beachwood location or use Sephora website for placing purchases because purchases are not secure. read more

Super nice staff. Everyone I've talked to there has been friendly, customer-focused, and helpful. Even when they are really busy and juggling customers, they are upbeat and make time to help you. A month ago i went for perfume samples and I got great service even though it was busy and I wasn't buying anything. I ended up loving one of the perfumes and went back and bought it. Recently, I got a great makeover from Imani. She was super nice, carefully listened to my needs and tastes, and did a great job explaining all the makeup steps. read more

Up until last year, I loved going here. Management was helpful and always very sweet. Recently however, whenever I have showed up to return something, the cashier's (there are different ones regularly) face always falls and she becomes very cold and unpleasant. I am often asked why I returned the product and when I mention that it didn't suit my very picky skin, they are usually low-key aghast and sour about it. I am a VIB Rouge which means I have blown enough $$$ at Sephora to get to that status and maintain it. So clearly I am not trying to pull a fast one from under Sephora's nose. Meh. Great experience at Sephora recently. Variety of cruelty free brands- however a lot of the employees are unaware, if a concern ( as it should be) research ahead of time to know which brands are. I keep trying to give Sephora a chance, I think I'm finally done. It's down the road from me, so a very easy drive. 4 minutes tops. However, every damn time I go here, I regret it. The associates are super unfriendly. If I have a return, they give me dirty ass looks. They don't even try to find out why I'm returning things. Even when the item is unused. I do enjoy them not helping me or saying anything but following closely as though I'm stealing. I notice I get asked if I need help if I have makeup on. Ironic, wouldn't you want to help the girl with ZERO makeup on? There's a chance she needs help share matching foundation. I intended to buy all my staples today and was so put off by the cashier doing my return, I left. I went to Ulta instead and bought my Too Faced BTW foundation($39) Too Faced BTW setting powder ($33) urban decay setting spray ($33) Tarte fake awake ($20) plus a few other things I've been looking at, dropping $250+. Why? Because Ulta knows how to treat their clients so I would rather drive the extra 10 minutes to Ulta. Better rewards, better service. Just better. But in all seriousness, I love Sephora, and this store in Beachwood mall is pretty great :) The workers are all very helpful and provide great advice and personal anecdotes about products in the store and even about products they've tried! I came here a few weeks ago for a Skin ID session, which was amazing! It's basically a 20+ minutes session with a sales associate, who documents your biggest skin concerns (ie, dryness, hyperpigmentation, acne, oiliness, etc). Best of all, it's a free session! I had my session with Paige, who had similar skin concerns as myself, so she gave some great tips about taking care of my skin and recommended a variety of products for me to try! I really recommend trying out the Skin ID session if you get the chance! I'm starting to notice some changes in my skin even in the last few weeks of using the new products :) read more
