This is my go to sephora location. I visited this location with a goal of finding fragrances for five family members. I worked with Rebel who was the fragrance specialist. Rebel deserves a metal as she was everything I needed that day. I was able to find fragnabces that suit everyone and an additional two fragrances for myself. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Honestly this location is probably the most convenient. We saw in app if you spend $50+ you can get a knitted tote bag gift from Sephora during this sale week. I must say the whole time we were there Deb (you're an absolute gem) and the nice lady at the givenchy section were great and def would have been 5 star on their presence, professionalism and knowledge alone. It all went sour, when we went to check out with 8 items or so from the nice ladies who helped on the floor. Then we run into a staff member doing handheld checkout for credit card only. Poor customer service skills, attitude to boot and sarcasm unwarranted. My GF is super nice and courteous in asking questions and she just tossed so much shade for what reason? Beats me. Even attitude when we decided to not go thru with a second purchase as she kept shoving the handheld and saying tap here, as if our few seconds of choosing to walk or not inconveniences her time on the clock. Too bad we couldn't get her name. However we at least know whom to steer clear of for help in any capacity if we want to have a good experience at Sephora. We decided to come back and return all the goods and just go to a different location. Hopefully the manager on duty can re-train this staff member. Because she's just bad for their company image. She should find a different career path that doesn't deal with the public. The Sephora in Braintree, at SSP, is not my preferred location for a couple reasons. 1. Usually don't have stock of the products I want 2. Staff can be rude for no reason 3. Does not offer as large of a selection as bigger store locations, like the one at Prudential. Last Friday was when the Sephora sale began & I have been making many trips to a couple different Sephora locations throughout the week to find products. Today, I came into the store looking for skincare. One of the workers helped me with figuring out what products would be good to try & really appreciated her educating me on key ingredients to avoid, as well as what to look for! So, at this point, I am ready to check out with 8 products in my hands. The worker who ended up ringing me up was rude from the start. There was a promo going on, which they were giving out knitted tote bags for purchases over $50. I kindly asked if they still had any tote bags available, & she slowly looked up from the scanner, glare at me, and replied saying what are you talking about. Her tone wasn't very nice at all but I decided to just explain what I saw from the app about the bag & her coworker overheard me explaining, then tells her to look in one of the shelves behind the counter. She turns around to check, then comes back & spoke to me with attitude, saying that they don't have it (which is totally fine... just asked out of curiosity) + though she didn't curse at me, her body language & demeanor was loud. I didn't really know what to make of that situation because the whole interaction felt like she was bothered by my presence & I didn't appreciate the treatment I was receiving, as a customer who didn't do anything wrong to her. Even at the beginning of the transaction when asking for my phone number for rewards, she was already annoyed... The lack of professionalism was really shocking to me. I get it, Sephora sale time is really busy in stores so earlier in the day it was probably tough & dragging but I'm not sure what I did, to deserve being treated like this. Very passive aggressive towards me the whole transaction interaction. She was in charge of the card only customers & had the portable card reader. Honestly, should've never said I was paying with card so I could avoid this interaction. Everyone else that helped me today was very helpful, on another note. Unfortunately had to experience this & ended up leaving the mall a vexed, irritated, & not-so-happy camper. I've never experienced this type of treatment before while shopping & it was unpleasant to say the least, uncalled for. Came back to Sephora to exchange a BB cream that turned out too heavy for me. Victoria was the nice girl that helped me out this time. I really, really appreciated how well she respected my budget. She did not introduce things that were out of my range. Victoria found something that was lightweight ad moisturizing for me. She asked me about my skin texture and my needs. When she had a product picked out she put three different tones on a glass sheet for me to look at and try on. This made the selection process a lot easier. Victoria gave great customer service and made it really comfortable to speak to her. As a result, the experience was effective and I walked out with just what I needed. The return was done easily. The worker there that helped me wasn't very nice... my mother and I came in to get some free samples and I've been really wanting to try the summer Fridays lip balm so I asked for a sample of that then I really like the drunk elephant eye balm so I asked for a sample of that and my mom asked for three samples finally I asked to try a different flavor of summer Fridays and i thjnk she may have rolled her eyes, she just was very rude the way she acted and talked. With COID-19, they have been severely limiting the number of customers allow in the store. While that means that you may have to wait a bit to get inside, the result is better service from the employees. They do a great job with offering assistance if you need and giving you space to browse on your own. They are very knowledgeable and were able to help me and my girlfriend sample (some) products. read more

My girlfriend went to pick up a few presents for her friends. She had a Egiftcard and encountered some difficulties with her Egift card. This is probably one of the biggest Sephora stores I've ever been to and one could easily get carried away shopping this store! I've done a lot of shopping there, enough to earn VIB status in their loyalty program. Their knowledgeable staff always gives me great product advice when I need it. The store is very well stocked and the shelves are kept neat. They have stations situated all around the store with cotton rounds and makeup remover in case you want to try before you buy. They have a great loyalty program that allows you to earn free products and you also get a free birthday gift during your birthday month. I love Sephora! I am a huge fan. So much so that I have Rouge Status. Which is one thing I do not like. I never go in and say,hey I am Rouge ,what are you going to do for me. But, some of the shops,such as this one.Treat you so so,until they see you are Rouge, then they cannot do enough for you. The customer service is not bad here,it is just not as great as some others I have been to. Sephora is great for making you samples on anything you want. But, it should not take almost 15 min when the store is not even that busy in the middle of a week day. No one looked happy. of course one never knows what has transpired before you get there. To be fair, they have been going through some horrific weather for sure and that could bring anyone down. I will give them another try the next time I am in town. Do not speak with perfume salesman. I absolutely love sephora and never have had a bad experience until today. I re-activated my yelp account solely for the purpose of writing this review. I have never felt more belittled in my entire life by anyone. He made me feel inferior due to the fact that I didn't want to spend that much money. He talked down to me about my reasoning for getting a rollerball, he mentioned Emma Watson because she was the creator for a perfume and continued to say "if you know who that is"... Pretty Annoyed, I came in & purchased a 60 dollar gift card for a friend's birthday, which is supposed to come with a 45 minute makeover to help you find what works for you best. I spoke to my friend recently & she told me when she went in she asked about the make over & they said she has to make an appointment online, & that if she wanted one she would have to come back & SPEND MORE MONEY! What a Way to ruin a BIRTHDAY GIFT! I guess I wouldnt be so annoyed with this if it wasnt as if everytime i went in there somewhere around 5 associates are walking the floor greeting but not exactly helping anybody. The day i got the gift card I went in for quick eyebrow tips on a highlight & how to apply & walked around for at least 10 minutes trying to find what i needed! Then finally finding a associate with perfect brows to get help from, who then refered me to someone else & went back to pacing the floor! Gift cards are kind of blah so i only got her one from here BECAUSE IT CAME WITH A MAKEOVER! SOMETHING YOU CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY! End result one shouldnt have to make an online appointment when the staff is clearly underbusy walking the floors saying hi to everyone. Step it up Sephora Braintree. Seriously. So, I just wrote a note to Sephora corporate about this location. It really needs help. As others have said, the help is spotty, at best. But what really gets me is how this place is truly shaping up to be a "bait-and-switch" location. I have been a long-time Sephora customer (prior to this store's opening, I shopped at the Burlington Mall location). I must say that every time (and I'm not exaggerating... EVERY SINGLE TIME) I shop at the South Shore Plaza location, there is ALWAYS something that I wish to purchase that is not in stock. And it's not always the same thing. For example, once I was looking for some mineral makeup. The one I wanted was not in stock. Once I was looking for some Sephora-line eyeliner. The color / variety I wanted was not in stock. Same thing last night. I was looking for a specific color of spray-on glitter and that, too, was not in stock. I mentioned this to the clerk who agreed that this happens far too often in this location. In fact, she even opened a drawer where they keep the "extra" supplies, and showed me that they have loads of the other stuff (which I didn't want), but none of what I wanted. And, to agree with another poster, the displays are all messed up. When I was looking for a copper color of the glitter I was looking for, I looked behind the "try me". It was the wrong color. So I thought it was a one-time mix-up. Nope. When I looked behind the "gold" glitter, it was also wrong. When I looked behind the "original" colored glitter, it, too, was wrong. If I had simply trusted the display and picked up what I thought was what I was looking for, I would have been really pissed off at home! I also agree with another poster about walking a few feet down the plaza to Nordstroms. Way less messy and most of the same products with super helpful help. I hope Sephora is reading these posts, because Burlington Mall isn't that far away, and I'd much prefer to shop there over this location. read more

I was very skeptical to EVER buy anything at this place, EVER. And from a friend's advice I decided to give it a shot, because my makeup just didn't seem to do the trick. Now I'm pretty addicted as in I don't think I'll buy makeup at CVS again unless it's something I need and can't get to a Sephora. The people in this store are very helpful and nice, and have always wanted to help, even when I don't want it, which is pretty cool, seeing as in other stores when you want help you can't find it. Sales associates here are BEYOND rude. I used to go to this specific sephora all the time,since it is closer to my house,but since then there are some new employees who should clearly not be working with the public. The last time i went there i had to go up to two of the SAs,who were just sitting around gossiping, to ask for help finding a product and that apparently did not sit well with the girls. The one who decided to 'help' me practically threw the product I was looking for in my hands and proceeded to yell its price in my ear. I have no idea what she wanted to accomplish by doing so. The cashier noticed it and got a little embarrassed. I had read bad reviews on sephora before,but never believed them until it happened to me. Thank god there is still Ulta. Like many other posters, this Sephora is hit-or-miss at best. Honestly, I find a better selection of prices and much better service several steps down at Nordstrom. It's only the Sephora Beauty Insider perks that keep me coming back. I feel like I'm invisible every time I walk into this Sephora because I am rarely approached by anyone to help me pick something out and if there's one thing I have no problem spending money on, it's cosmetics. In terms of selection, I only really come here for the selection of Make Up Forever since it is one of my favorite brands not available in department stores. The selection of MUF products is just okay at this particular location so I'd rather go to the Prudential location (where they also sell Bobbi Brown products). At any rate, when I do want to shop by myself with no one to hound me, this is where I go. read more

Having been to this location few, I must say I found the staff really helpful, friendly & provide great service. One time I wanted to buy a gift but this location did not carry that brand, the person not only let me know of other Sephora locations in Boston that would have that item, she also let me know of other stores in the mall which would have that particular brand/item, so instead of having to drive to some other location just to get that, I could walk to one the stores nearby & find it here. The size of the store pretty decent & has always been clean & well stocked the few times I have come here. This being all said still its Sephora/cosmetics/perfumes etc & it can be pretty expensive. read more

In general, I love Sephora. I am a little torn about this specific location though. It is not as crazy busy as some of the oth locations, so you can have a slightly more relaxing experience which I like. I like spending time looking at make up without having to constantly move around other people. The customer service is very hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good person who is very helpful. Other times you get someone who acts bored or just does not know anything about the products. They are very slow putting out new products. I have gone in three seperate times looking for a new product that they have had to go into the back room to get it out. I am not even taking about day of release, I am taking products that were released 2-3 weeks earlier. I wonder if some of the previous complaints about the store being out of products is just because they are bad at stocking products. So if you want a product that you do not see, ask to make sure they do not have any in the back. One time when I was in, I noticed that the Dior display was messed up. I did not want people to spend $60 only to get home and have the wrong product, so I told one of the employees. He actually laughed at me and said "I am sure they are correct". This annoyed me so I preceded to tell him the names of all the palettes and where they should actually be. My friend was with me and started lauighing and told him that he shouldn't argue make up with me. He wanted to prove me wrong so he opened up one of the boxes and sure enough, it did not match the sample. At that point he was pretty embarrassed and said something about it in his headset. Apparently someone had reorganized it earlier in the week to put out some new products and she must have messed it up. He never apologized, just explained what happened and walked away. I prefer the Natick store. They seem to be well educated and are always super helpful. If you get the chance, go there instead. read more

If you ever go here see Neil, I enjoyed him very much. He is very knowledgable about the product, which is always helpful. He asked me a few personality questions, which weirded me out at first, but then he proceeded to bring back a fragrance I used to wear back in college and suggest two others I really liked too. He takes pride in his job and you can tell. Great experience! Update: dude is still there thankfully. He helped me again when I came in and asked for a fragrance like the one I have but in travel size with a Spray. Or maybe she got overworked before I got there. *shrugs* Everything else was very professional though. But, Boston area Sephoras are those most cheap-skate-ish n cold. In New Jersey, Delaware, and Philadelphia they walk around w u, have conversations w u, and not only give u any samples u want, they even ask you if u want some, and even scoop out stuff like Shiseido or Jocie Moran. The store is open and not crowded like some other Sephoras. The sales people aren't pushy but also seem rather confused when you ask them about something. They don't seem to know the products in their own store. This Sephora is good if you already know your makeup and can do it yourself. Its difficult to rate this Sephora location because there is a major reason I like it and a major reason I hate it. Starting with the good: The staff here is great. They are so nice and helpful. So many times I have shopped at the Prudential location and been ignored while trying to seek help. I have never had this problem at this location. In fact, this is the one Sephora that every time I come in they are very busy and yet I am asked if I need help more than once by multiple staff members. My most recent trip I was so satisfied with the help I received that I left with a big smile on my face. But that leads me to the bad: I may have been smiling but I was still a little disapointed that alot of the items I was specifically looking for were out of stock at this location. This is not the first time that I have ventured out to Braintree only to find out that the only thing I needed was out of stock. They seem to be a pretty busy location so maybe they need to order more of those best seller items in their shipments. read more

I am a big believer in Sephora over a department store cosmetics counter. Sephora employees are not paid based on commission, and they aren't tied to any one brand - if you come in looking for some help, their recommendation will be based on your specific needs, not how much they can make on you. This location is huge with a great brand selection, and it's in the newest wing of the south shore plaza. Makeup heaven! I find that the employees here are outstanding and I appreciate being checked in on as I shop. They also really know their stuff, down to the scientific principles behind skincare/ makeup. After 15 min with Josh, HE was teaching ME about my skin, and making thoughtful suggestions. Kayla is also a standout employee. Don't be shy - these people love what they do and like to talk about it! The in-store experience is so much better than just shopping online, in my opinion. read more

I was there yesterday and this place was super packed. Most of the staff were loading stuff up the shelves and others are helping other customers. I tried reaching out to a couple staff there, some of them are friendly enough to point out some of the products that I was looking for but leave right the way. To be honest, I was kind of upsetting for a minute but I guess it just the holiday and the staff were too busy. While I was still trying to find my way around, this gentleman name Shawn/Sean was there, not only he stopped what he was doing and ask if I need any help, he helped me pick up the rest of the stuff on my shopping list.(even there's this lip stick set that another staff told me they haven't gotten them yetdidn't bother to check for me but just a no right the way) There is also this short hair lady was very friendly to see if I needed more help because she was busy earlier. Has good makeup but the customer service is brutal to say the least. It's like everyone you ask directs to someone else because they aren't willing to help. Then when you do finally get someone they don't know what they are doing and steer you into the wrong direction. I can't tell you how many times I've gone home and the color I got was not even remotely close to my color. Maybe better lighting? This isn't the closest Sephora store to me, but when I come to this one I'm always kindly greeted by the staff and they always seem to be fully staffed, so if I need help, someone is there to help me. The store is large, so they have a grander variety of brands to choose from. Although this is an expensive retailer to find haircare, skincare, makeup, fragrance etc., I have seemed to make it work with my budget because of how many products there are to choose from. All the staff here have been super nice and helpful and I appreciate it so much as a customer. Never had a bad experience coming to this location. read more

Made an appointment 3-4 weeks in advance to get a 45 minute makeover tonight. At the last minute I got an email saying it had been canceled. I called the store and was put on hold three times and spoke to four different people. I just wanted to know why and see if I could reschedule for an earlier time the same day (today). It's a really special occasion (wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day combo celebration) and I was counting on getting my makeup done. I planned so far in advance. I just wanted to know why they canceled me. Eventually someone from the store said "just show up and maybe we could try to do something if we're not busy." Well, I'm not going to risk being turned away at the last minute before my dinner. I'm a VIB Rouge member, but I definitely didn't feel VIP. So disappointed. read more

Ulta can thank this specific Sephora location for my business. I was a VIB Rouge for years but found myself always avoiding this location due to the abysmal service and intrusive staff. One woman whom works in skincare that I have come to recognize, has several times, over years, made crazy claims about various products, but never actually had any information that I wanted. One of the perks of being a VIB Rouge includes various services, none of which I was ever able to access. The most irritating aspect of this store however is the intrusive staff. After I have politely declined help x3, I expect to be left alone. I am an alert and oriented adult capable of making my own decisions, if I need help, I will ask. Now I go to Ulta where I am free to browse w/o being interrupted, without my personal space being invaded. The Ulta loyalty program is much better, and the sales cant be beat. I do not miss Sephora AT ALL! read more
