So interesting to re-read old reviews. So, taking the past review into consideration and also taking into consideration that a big part of the experience at Sephora is the customer service, I wanted to update my review a bit. My skin seems to have changed dramatically in the past year. I also realized that I've been using slightly outdated products and wanted to see if there was anything newer and better for my needs, which again was under eye concealer. But a more pressing need now lol. I was cheerfully greeted as usual and asked what brought me in. I explained the above and also mentioned that I am not very experienced with make-up and would need "help." I was quickly led to one of the brands and given a few applicators with concealer and then left on my own while the staff member greeted and assisted another customers, which was not helpful to me. He eventually came back but was distracted by anyone else who came by us, including other customers or staff. I looked to him for guidance and opinion on which he thought was the best when I did have his attention, but didn't receive much feedback except that I was applying it incorrectly and that I pronounced the brand name wrong. I eventually started feeling weird and inept and left without purchasing anything, and consoled myself that I could try again at a different location. I do love my Sephora and I know that it all depends on who you have helping you, and I've also had all really great experiences in the past. But I do think I will avoid this location for a little while. read more

They just never give knowledgable service here. I visit Sephora to get advice. My visit two weeks ago they were overbearing and uninformed, out of at least 1/3 of the testers. I made it clear several times I was there at that point to look around and she kept asking me over and over again if I needed anything repeatedly. To the point it was so annoying I left, sorry- that's the truth. I'm there for a pleasant experience, not to be stalked. Yesterday the total opposite. I was ignored completely during my 45 minute visit. Even though there were multiple people literally standing there doing nothing. I watched them stand still for that long hiding in corners. Not so much as a hello. It was awkward and honestly rude I thought. I was thinking of trying a few samples but if I feel like I'm a bother I'm not going to ask. I did not feel welcome here, nor did I feel like the salespeople wanted to be there. All in all, a very poor experience and I will only go to the Troy location from now on. read more

I love this sephora!! I tend to visit sephora whenever I'm at any mall and this location is probably my favorite out of the four that I can remember going to. This location is a pretty good size and the selection is on point. But what really makes this sephora great are the employees! I have always had pleasant experiences here and they are all extremely friendly and approachable which is the opposite of what people expect from sephora. I prefer this sephora over the nearby ulta on hall road for that reason even if sephora is more expensive. I will keep coming back here as long as my wallet allows me to! read more

I went into this store to buy a bare minerals product. I was unhappy with all the questions bare minerals asks so I went to sephora. They didn't have my color so they said they could order and ship to my home. She asked how many I wanted and I said TWO. I got my order today and there was only ONE. I have paralyzing severe COMPLEX POST TRAUMATIC STRESS INJURY and don't have the energy to do things twice. This is my right according to the AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT. Why can't this company follow a FEDERAL law???????? UPDATE: On day two I have called the store 4 times during normal business hours and get a recording that says they will transfer me to the operator and it disconnects every single time. This business has gone backwards. Years ago before computer recordings people answered the phone and business got done. Now they pay a phone bill and a computer answers and disconnects. The only way to speak with these people is by walking in the door, so we are back to the 1800's when people didn't have phones? read more

Love this location! Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Love the manager too. She gave me a free hair makeover and was helpful with many products with genuine feedback. Last I went there, which was last week, I had to get color matched for concealer. Was helped right away. The representative was helpful with technique too. Probably one of my most favorite places to be! My only complaint is how cramped it is, no matter where you are, you are always in the way. The staff however, is always always incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant to chit chat with while shopping. Another thing i really appreciate about Sephora in general is the purfume samples. I can't tell you how much i have wasted on expensive perfumes only to discover i hate the way it smells once the top notes wear off and i never wear them again. Half of the samples i get, i decide i don't like them after all after wearing for just a day or two. So thankful they offer that, it saves me from wasting so much money! read more

Love this store! All the makeup in the world! They have tons and tons of designers and their makeup lines. You can go in and try practically everything on in the store. The people that work there are very nice and friendly, and are always willing to help you. If you are questioning a certain product they will help you apply it, and if it isn't right they will try to help you find a new one. Stop in for your everyday makeup needs! The only thing this store needs is to sign a contract with MAC so they can carry their products! read more

Huge fan of this smaller Sephora because it's inside JCP. It's true that there are some displays and items that are not at this location because it is smaller, but if you're looking for the big name brands and something in particular you can stop in fairly quickly and get it. I have also called ahead to see if they have something and if they don't they can get it for you and let you know when to pick it up. That may not work for all instances but if you're just looking to replace something you already have in your not in a hurry that could work for you. I do feel like the employees here are extra helpful because it smaller so again if you're coming in looking for something and you do need help you should take advantage of them. During the holidays when Sefora offers small gifts sets at a very discounted price, they do only have a small selection of those, so keep that in mind. They also offer some different sets that are exclusive to Sephora at JC Penney only so if there's a skin care set you saw in an advertisement, it might be slightly smaller and also less expensive for these locations. Regardless the hoards of people trying samples at the Partridge Creek location are not hanging out in JCP, so outs nice to use this one. read more

I always go strait to the sale rack. most Sephora have them on a endcap. from 1 buck to 15.00 but you will save a ton and just might find what you came in for. Oh and always ask and see if yhey have any pre made samples. Chances are they will throw you in a few for free :) read more

I'm not a big Sephora shopper. I rather pick up my Bare Escentuals from the boutique around the corner or my skincare from my local spa. That being said, I've struggled with a problem my entire adult life of my mascara smudging on my brow bone. It looks fine when I leave the house, but hours later it looks like I'm wearing black eyeshadow in a poor way. I've tried all kinds of mascaras through the years as well as other products to help keep this at bay. When I got there and asked for some assistance they suggested I use an eyelid primer, I've been using an eyelid primer for years and that doesn't seem to help. They suggested I try a different one, so I bought it and took it home. It didn't work. I brought it back for a full refund and was going to go on my merry black eyed way when the woman who was ringing me up asked what I didn't like about the product and I explained my dilemma. She suggested a tubular mascara, explaining that it creates a little tube around your eyelashes. I bought it, took it home and... It WORKED! I was so happy I could have cried. I've been asking for assistance with this issue from everyone and anyone and the staff at Sephora was finally able to help me figure it out. That combined with their 100% guarantee made it easy. I only wish I didn't have to wait so long in lines when I visit. read more

I went in today hoping someone could help me out with acne issues I've never had in my life and that's exactly what I got. I didn't catch their name, but they were so helpful despite my non existent knowledge of skin products. They asked questions about my skin and sampled three products for me and included a receipt like paper for each product that had description of the products. The superstar of this location is the guy with the ginger hair with bright colors that was working register yesterday. So helpful, willing to give samples, talkative and encouraging about the products and down to earth. I wish all the employees were like him. The women on the floor were just meh and grumpy, he saved the day. I went to this location, because of the great reviews, but I was very disappointed with the lack of service. Three employees asked if I needed help. I told all of them that I did and wanted to find a good eyeliner. They all named some makeup brands and told me where they were, but did not help any further than that! It is the employees job to help with color matching and to find the best product for the customer. This is what Sephora is known for. If I only wanted to know where a particular product was, I would have just went to Ulta. read more

I'm gonna guess it was a manager. But I was just minding my business and walking around and she kept following me. The only bag I had was my purse. Every else she kept asking if I was okay and needed help. I can't help to feel that it was the fact I wasn't wearing makeup, and just kinda looked bad in general. Rachael was amazing! I usually shop at bareminerals, but they discontinued my favorite/everyday tinted lotion. She took the time to go through every lotion she thought I'd like, we narrowed it down and I actually picked one (Plus she gave me a sample of my second favorite, just in case)! I'm very picky and have been using the same product for years, so this change was very difficult for me. But she made me super comfortable and made the transition effortless! Once again, I find myself shopping at the store instead of online. Not just because they finally figured out my four accounts and got me to customer service to fix it, but because Coco, Katarina and Sean all offer and upscale and friendly shopping experience worthy of this brand. No issues with my cart and shopping for my mother was never easier. I spent an hour on the phone with customer service trying to fix something that Sean fixed in ~2 minutes at the register. When I tell them saleslady what I'm looking for, instead of going through a couple lines and actually testing them to see if they work, she goes to the most expensive brand and starts handing me boxes of items just because I said they were nice. I came to this Sephora because I NORMALLY have a great experience but I was very dissatisfied with my service. The manger Hope is very unfriendly and seems that it is okay to shove applying for a JcPenny card down my throat. No means no and when I state that I do not want a JcPenny card, then clearly when asked for the third time my answer will still be no. This place needs to understand that not everyone wants a credit card especially after the first few times of asking. The manger also was continually checking on her workers and asking what they were doing and what I was given a sample of, I felt as if she didn't trust her workers and that she thought her workers were incapable of executing their jobs correctly! This was my first visit to Partridge Creek in quite some: it's been years since I've visited having moved out of the Sterling Heights area. I visited this Sephora a couple days after Christmas looking to get a crash course in what I need to get fully into makeup: thus far I've only been heavily into lipstick rather than a FULL face. I browsed the store for about 5 minutes upon being pleasantly greeted by Megan. There were 3 customers including myself needing assistance, and she masterfully helped us all without neglecting any single person's needs. She listened to my needs and gave me strong recommendations and information. While she helped me she made sure other customers were taken care of, again, not neglecting me at any moment. I'm not sure if she's a manager or a dedicated employee but Megan is fantastic! She matched me to a foundation, adding some setting powder, highlight, and blush to my face without me having to ask: I left the store cute and flawless. This is definitely my top location now. Pathetic. I always shop at sephora, especially this location, being that it's the closest to my house, so I went in there with my friend just looking around. God forbid we are both teenage girls, so we must be shoplifting right?? I'm not kidding when I say that atleast 8 times we got asked by the same workers how we we're doing and if we're okay. They did not stop watching us, Paying Customers, the whole time! I had a credit card with me and, therefore, was fully capable of purchasing any makeup there. I dropped one of the tester compact highlight cases because I had only one free hand, and the man working gave me a dirty look. THE CASE WAS EMPTY and no makeup was broken.
