Accident happened on March 20, 2020 (at 3:50ish PM) Worker: short, Asian girl with balck hair I would give this place 0 starts if I could for the terrible service a friend and I received. My friend came to pick up an order he had placed online mind you, a significant amount of money was spent. I was browsing as my friend was waiting behind a group who was talking to the worker. When this worker was done with the customers, my friend proceeded to say "hi" (which I heard from a few feet away). The workers just kept on walking, for a second I thought she didn't hear, my friend say "hello, excuse me" and again she just tried to go around him. At this point I look over and my friend is literally following her around trying to get their attention. I've never seen this kind of shit service. Bad experience here for my gift return. Use to love coming to this sephora because of the friendly staff, but I haven't been back since the first Covid shutdown. But they have obviously hired new people who don't care for customer service. However the staff at the queue was nice since she asked what I was coming in for and I told her I wanted to exchange a gift I received but did not have the receipt. So she explained to me that I would just need the beauty insider of the person who purchased it. At the register the staff told me that was not possible since she could not pull up someone else's info which is understandable. However I had my friend on the phone who could provide the info and she still refused. A picture of the membership should have sufficed, but she told me harshly that the person had the be there in person. Luckily my friend was in the shopping center nearby, but they were held up by the line outside. So I decided to shop so I could just exchange the gift, however those 20mins were horrible. A staff was constantly staring at me and watching my every move, which made me feel uncomfortable to shop there. Every 5 mins a staff would ask if I need help and when I asked if something was in stock she would rudely say "No". Treating your customers this way is awful, horrible experience at this sephora location. Had the BEST customer service EVER! Was there earlier this week to p/u some online purchases but wondered in to return an item since I could not try on (new concealer color, wasn't sure of). However, I was approached by Alison who was the most helpful customer service and sales person I have ever encountered. Long story short, ended up getting the right match for concealer and bought a few other things to compliment. Great Customer service is hard to find nowadays, I'm so glad I found Alison. My first impression was that the beauty associates at this Sephora are the worst! I went to this associate standing free (found out later her name was Cece) asked her if she could help me. She gave me this judgy side-eye look, ignored me and walked away. I was taken aback and went to the register to ask them to assign someone. The register person apologized that they were short staffed and asked in her headset for someone to come help me. Cece came around in my aisle, saw me, made an "oh shit" face and did a uturn. After 2 mins I saw her with a lady who already had an associate helping her! Just adding "oh yeah that looks good I agree". For a store that was short staffed, 2 people waiting on a lady seems excessive when 1 patron had no-one. I wasn't wearing makeup (to get an accurate foundation shade match) and can't believe someone would go out of their way to avoid helping me just because I didn't look "put together". I would have never gone to this branch again if the associate who finally helped me (Holly) didn't work there. Holly was the absolute sweetest. Only reason I'm giving this 2 stars otherwise even 1 star would be too much for the bitchy attitude I initially got. I'm really not a makeup person, but Sephora is the place to go for holiday shopping. I went during Black Friday and found so many deals on stocking stuffers that I went crazy and purchased almost a dozen different items. There were such good deals and the staff were great in pointing out all the items that met my price point. Oh shoot, did I just mess myself up for all my secret santa giveaways this year? Just know I was thinking of you when I picked up that 1) eyeshadow palate, 2) lipstick combo or 3) face powder and concealer. Happy holidays! read more

Customer service is amazing at this location! It's been over a year since I wore any makeup. I decided to go to Sephora to pick up a few key essentials to start wearing makeup again. From the moment I stepped in, the associates were very friendly and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was helped quickly to get a concealer shade matched. While browsing around looking at Fenty products, Villie complimented my sweater. I asked him for several product recommendations. He took the time to explain each use case to determine if the products were suited for everyday wear. As a makeup newbie, I felt like I could trust his knowledgeable responses to all my questions. I've coincidentally been greeted by Ari the past several times I've visited this location, and she gives every customer in line stellar service every time! Super peppy, makes sure to acknowledge every customer in a super friendly manner, engages in full on conversations, and figures out our needs before we officially step foot into the store. Not to mention, she's usually doing this while standing in Daly City's freezing cold as she stands outside to greet us! Consistently provides 10/10 customer service. Thanks, Ari! I love that they offer help right when you walk through the doors. I'm not really the type to ask for help so that was awesome. The girl at the door was incredibly friendly(unfortunately I forgot her name) and partnered me up with Villie (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She matched me to the shade I needed. I don't wear any face makeup so I don't really know anything about shades or anything. She also sold me on the new Selena Gomez line. Walked in for 2 things and came out with 5 and I am not even into makeup. Overall, all of the staff we're incredibly helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this location. They're also extremely clean and they make sure that their staff is protected from COVID-19. read more

I love this Sephora and it's mainly for their customer service. Talia helped me out when I was shopping here for the first time and she couldn't have been more amazing. She was knowledgable, friendly, relatable, and took the time to actually get the right products that worked for me. This Sephora is located within Serramonte Shopping Center in the back of Target. Not the best in terms of parking. It's always congested and extremely packed. For anyone who lives within the Bay Area, parking is always a struggle anywhere, anytime. Their selection is up to par to what Sephora in Stonestown has to offer. Clean, and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, which is no different from any other Sephora store I've been too. read more

This one-star review goes out to the Shiseido rep who approached me yesterday at the Daly City store. I came in looking to purchase a Sephora-brand moisturizer, but they were out. When the girl approached me, I inquired about that specific moisturizer and wanted to know if they had more available somewhere in the store/in the back, etc... She said no, but she had a recommendation and wanted to share all about this one particular Shiseido product-(which btw was $53 more than the one I came in for...) She told me that she recommended it to her mom, so it should be good for me. I was like.....Wait? What?? ummmm, excuse me? What did you just say?? Honestly, I was shocked at the comment. I found it extremely rude. I mean, what's next....will I get the "When are you due comment, too"? Ok I get it, we all grow older, but I do NOT need to have that thrown in my face. There were no questions asked about what kind of skin tone I have or what I wanted in a moisturizer. She was just hell-bent on selling her product. She was obviously flustered by my response and tried to back pedal...She was like, Oh I mean, I recommend this for my family. I was like WTF....seriously? The other two in-person encounters I had, were with the sales staff and I would give that two stars....Those exchanges felt very dismissive and they really couldn't give a rat's A$$ whether or not a customers' needs were met or not. The only bright moment was when I called the store and spoke to the manager, Christina. I told her my story and she sounded very empathetic on the phone. For the Shiseido Rep, you can kiss my aging a$$. Go get trained properly on how to provide good customer service, because they can't train you on how to improve your personality or how to interact and navigate through personal interactions; you'll just have to figure out that one on your own. Oh...I almost forgot the other insulting piece...Once this whole thing went down, the rep came back to me in the store and was like, " Oh, here are some samples for you to try". Three of the samples were XX small sealed package-type samples and one sample was in a tube. When I open the tube of exfoliant, I noticed it was close to being halfway empty. We were initially assisted by a very pleasant beauty assistant who checked stock for the product we wanted and then directed us to Alyssa Santana at the sales desk. Alyssa was very knowledgeable and professional. She seemed to really enjoy helping guests with their requests as I watched her while we were in line. The people here will follow you around and "pretend" to be working and while blatantly watching your every move. My friend was also followed while he was shopping in fragrance. This Sephora location is truly terrible. No one knows what's going on nor do they even pretend to care. A million people working but other than greeting you 7 times they don't provide any real customer service. I had a pickup order that was unfulfilled hours later. I had the most wonderful experience ever at this location. Alison helped me figure out everything I needed and was so patient with me! She really made the experience worth while and talked to me like we had known each other our whole lives which I believe is the best customer service experience I've received to date. The team here is always so kind and genuinely interested in helping you find the best products. I am so grateful for their resilience in these horrible circumstances as a retail worker. I really hope the management at this store recognizes what a phenomenal team they have! I visit this store often and I'm embarrassed to admit how much I spend each month at Sephora online and in store. One request is if the store could keep the product displays for makeup and skincare continually stocked? A big reason for customers to come in store in the first place is to try things and many of the more popular brands i.e. Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup by Mario, Tatcha, Rare Beaty, Sephora brand, etc have shades missing or completely used up by customers. Today, I decided to order online and do an in store pickup for the friends and family sale. I ordered around 10am expecting it to be ready 2 hours later, since that's what it said on the app. However, after that duration, it is still not ready. I come in myself around 3pm and ask about the items of my order. They apologize and say they are short staffed. Short staffed??? What upsets me is that I am walking around Sephora, I see many employees just standing around doing nothing and they tell me they are short staffed. An employee talks to me and asks about my order, while shuffling through many receipts, of what I assume to be other pick ups. I felt bad for her, since it seems as if she's the only one doing these order pickups, while there are many other employees just standing around. I ordered two items, but was only able to walk out of the store with one, since the other item was probably snagged by other customers because they weren't doing their pickup in store orders in a timely fashion. However, another employee was able to order me the item. It was just unfortunate how I could've left the store with my items if they fulfilled these pickups as they were placed. Why have in store pickup orders as an option, if the items aren't going to be available when we order them in the first place? read more

It's so a re are nos days to come across such great customer service from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I checked out I was so impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the service they offered. Just got back from buying Christmas gifts at this location. It's a great place to get skincare and make up gift sets for the holidays and they have plenty of options ranging from $10-$200. Pros: - Clean, organized and helpful employees. I came here in the morning and I'm sure inventory get s little messier late in the day but that wasn't the case for my visit. - An employee asked if I needed help and I said I was looking for Christmas gifts. She kindly showed me where all the options were on the floor and told me the price breakdown for each section. Super helpful! - I like looking through their mini section near the register. - I'm glad this location is open because the JCPenny at Serramonte is permanently closed and that was the closest Sephora in the area. I returned an item I bought a few weeks ago (before friends and fam sale). During process, cashier had a stone face. Once return was complete, she turned to her co-workers and said "It's happening. It's already happening." right in front of me. I immediately was offended. What was she trying to insinuate? That I buy sh*t just to turn around and return it?!?!?! I'm 48 years old and if she took one look at my purchase history, she wouldve realized right awat that I buy A TON Of sh*t from Sephora. That chic left a bad taste in my mouth. Racial profiling at Sephora is unfortunately a very common thing. However, I have been followed almost every time I visit this specific Sephora. It started when a security guard saw me open a perfume I was already set on buying. I told him that there was no tester and I was already set on buying it. After this instance he asked for the perfume back and the rest of the time I was followed around by Sephora employees. It's tiring and quite frustrating considering how many white women I see steal from Sephora yet I am the paying costumer who is followed. I would like to be clear I can't prove the intentions of the employees however I was very uncomfortable considering that this is a pattern. read more

Let me start this off by saying how welcome I felt walking in here. As soon as I walked in, a store associate asked what I needed and immediately directed me to where I needed to go. Allison, another store associate heard what I needed, walked me over to the section I was interested in. After delving into what I was looking for, she was able to make a few recommendations and guide me through product usage. If it wasn't for Sabrina and the one cashier worker (I didn't catch her name but she had lip piercings) this review would be 1 star. Trying to pickup an order for my wife with 1% battery left on my phone and waiting in a line of 5+ people I was a little worried. Come to find out the order wasn't ready which is understandable. So I asked if I can cancel my wife's order and just buy the items over the counter. While the cashier helping me was willing to help me get the TWO items my wife wanted, the "manager" with freckles (again didn't catch a name) was extremely rude to me and her own employee. She said I have to get them myself and wait in line again. So I went to get the items with the help of Sabrina. She saw I was a little annoyed and did everything in her power to turn my experience. When I got to the counter the "manager" left the cashier alone with a busy line. I understand high stress jobs as I work one myself.
