Usually I don't bother to write reviews on this app, at that a BAD review but wow this location has horrible customer service! I went in on a weekday so it was very slow and I saw a employee just literally look at me up and down and walk away so I brush it off and keep looking then I turn the corner and see two employees once again just look and me and continue on with their conversation (don't know if it was work related or not because I didn't care to listen at this point), so I continue to browse just taking in the beautiful store, and again I see two more employees talking behind me while looking at some products then cut in front of me and I STILL haven't been acknowledged. I was very disappointed at this point and just left this store. Obviously I could of walked up to someone for help but working in retail myself actually in Cosmetics I know to ask everyone I see if they've been helped or need something, etc. I walked down to Mac Cosmetics and immediately after walking in every employee in the store that I made eye contact with acknowledged me even after being helped they made sure I was okay. This made me feel very appreciated I will definitely be returning to Mac Cosmetics in Rice Village and will not go back to that Sephora location! Last weekend was VIB Rouge early access for their customers. I'm always eager to attend when I can to get early access to new products but this was a fail! First they didn't have any swag bags for their customers and said to call back to pick up at later during the week...no specific date like call ya after Tuesday. Second, since it wasn't as busy as they usually are in a weekend I got ZERO attention & customer service. I walked around aimlessly trying to see where the new Becca and Tarte products might be and nothing new, it was the same products from week before while other stores had the new products....very disappointed. Third, the product displays looked like they haven't been cleaned in months and you would think for VIB Rouge event the store would have been little bit more cleaner. Last but not least, the poor customer service was due in part to employees chatting with each other and not offering assistance to customers like myself. Very disappointed in their lack customer device so needless to say it was total waste of time and purchased nothing. Think I will purchase my products online going forward. With that amount of staff in the store, total shame that this was poorly executed. read more

What I love about Sephora is how knowledgeable all of the employees are. I like to roam around and find new things on my own. However anytime I go to Sephora specifically looking for a product, I love how I can explain to the employees what it is I am looking for and they know exactly what products to show me. Usually they only have to show me one product before I've fallen in love. Today was an especially awesome trip at Sephora, I was looking for some concealer. However there was no one available to assist me which wasn't necessarily a problem, because I am sure I could find concealer on my own. It just makes it so much easier when you have expert to help. So the pretty lady with long greenish/aqua hair at the check out counter told me that someone would be right with me. Well I waited and waited and she assured me that someone would be with me as soon as possible. I wasn't mad about waiting, it's just really hard to wait around when you are surround by magical make up products. So I told her I was gonna look around while I waited for someone. Which Sephora probably benefited from me roaming around the store, because a spent a lot more money then I was expecting while I was walking around, finding things I couldn't live with out. By the time I was finally helped I was picking up a concealer that I thought I was going to be happy with when this makeup genius recommended NARS Radiant creamy concealer. I was in totally aw after she applied it with her fancy brush (which I also ended up purchasing.) I wasn't planning on buying eyeliner, but I still wanted to see what Sephora had to offer. All she had to do was apply the Stila liquid eyeliner to her had and I was immediately SOLD! I get to the counter with my new Stila eyeliner, Nars concealer, PRO airbrush concealer makeup brush, Smashbox peachy dream blush, roll on MJ daisy perfume, Tarte mascara and I was very thrilled with all of the purchases I was about to make. I noticed the birthday gift at the counter and asked if I was still an applicable candidate because my birthday was in June, with no hesitation the cashier tossed the sample in the bag. She then asked if I wanted to use my points today and before going in the store I noticed in my email that there was a perfume you could use your points for and I wanted to try it. Fortunately for me they were out, because she then asked what my favorite perfume was and gave me a WHOLE bottle for free because she heard I had to wait a long time before I could be helped. You've got to be kidding me, best damn costumer service I've ever had. Since Sephora opened they have been my go to place for make up, I will occasionally walk in to MAC. Not after today, I will now be a faithful customer to Sephora I will never cheat on you again with MAC. Thanks Sephora for be so caring and supportive! You are exactly what I need in my life, YOU ROCK!! Wish I knew all three of the lovely ladies names so I could give y'all a shout out, lady with long green hair, lady with blond hair (I think you were a manager) that hooked me up with the Amazing grace perfume, and the lady with the brown hair that showed me the NARS concealer and the Stila liquid eyeliner. read more

I'm a make up enthusiast so naturally I had to check out this Sephora location! The staff is super friendly and the store is very clean. They were out of a lot of the products I wanted so that was a bummer. I'll probably be back! Btw I'm pretty sure they reimburse you for garage parking! read more

Every staff member will go out of their way to accommodate you, whether it be locating an out of stock item, a coupon you forgot to print out, or the VIB free-with-purchase bag offer that expired a few days ago. Incredible service with paitence, not pushy at all. This location is small, but I can walk to it from my apartment, so I can't really complain. Also, they practice tattoo acceptance (in the workplace) which is super badass! read more

This is hands down my absolute favorite Sephora location! It's smaller than some other locations, but what it lacks in size is made up for in excellent customer service. The employees are always extremely friendly and helpful and usually recognize me when I walk in, and the makeup artists are super talented and always recommend great products to try! read more

I love shopping in Rice Village. Rice Village is peaceful and the boutiques are very unique. Last week I walked into Sephora to purchase makeup and perfume. I walked in and there were five workers standing around and one worker standing near the door on his phone texting. No one greeted me. I walked around the store for ten min and walked to the counter the counter and asked the cashier if anyone could help me. She spoke to them through her ear piece and told me to wait and someone was coming over to help me. I didn't say anything but at the same time I was looking at several of their employees doing absolute nothing but standing around talking to each other. I decided to leave. I walked next door to Origins and spent $325. I love Sephora's products but I will not return. I like customer service!! Companies need to retrain employees to master customer service. Love, love, love Sheila! I can be a challenge to match when selecting a foundation. I generally decline assistance, but Sheila immediately understood and articulated my actual skin undertone. She demonstrated at least five different brands/foundation products that matched my skin tone and undertone with success! It was then only a matter of which one I wanted and Sheila excelled in listening skills. Sheila was able to effectively assist me in understanding the type of product I wanted (bb cream or mineralized foundation) versus the product performance I wanted (lightweight/weatherproof, non pore clogging with coverage.) I selected Make Up For Ever. Before purchasing, Sheila and I read the label and she reminded the foundation needs to shaken before application because it is a gel formula. If this seems long-winded, so be it - this is a case study for training in color theory, product knowledge and listening skills to deliver customer service beyond expectations. read more

Don't bother coming to this location. The employees are so rude and terrible. They have no product knowledge. I asked someone a simple question which was just a yes or no answer and instead of being nice and telling me to hold on one moment or just taking one second to answer my question she says " NO. I can't help you right now, you're going to have to wait I'm helping someone else" in the rudest tone with the nastiest look on her face. I immediately left and decided that place was not worth spending my money and I didn't want any of those lazy, nasty attitude employees getting any sort of commission or money from my sale. This also is not the first time they have been rude and they ALWAYS ignore customers. Especially ones who they assume will not "spend money". The galleria location is so much better, the employees are so nice and their knowledge of products are way better and they have a much better selection. Go there instead! read more

I live 2 blocks away from this Sephora location, and I'm a V.I.B rogue card holder. I went there a week ago to exchange something. I wasn't sure what I was going to exchange it with, so I was just looking around to find something. There was this brunette middle aged lady whom I think just started to work there. She asked me if I needed assistance for three times since I had walked in to the store, and I politely said "No, thank you." every time she asked even though I was bothered by her (I think anybody would be). Anyways, I finally found a Dior lipstick to exchange my item with. I was trying it on, and then she yells; "Have fun trying that lipstick on!". It's very offensive what she did, and think she thought that I was one of those people who goes there to put some makeup on and leave which still does not justify her behaviour. I was going to find out her name and put it here before I wrote this review, but I'm too good for that. If this happens again, I'm definitely doing it though! Fix your employee Sephora! read more
