The best sephora hands down. The staff is super helpful here specially Kimberly,Katia and Jilica(? I don't remember the spelling but she is the very nice lady with blonde hair and eyeglasses hung around her neck). They helped me purchase the best products suitable for my skin type,color and what I was looking for on various occasions. Kimberly examined my skin condition and suggested "double cleansing" which requires using an oil based makeup remover followed by an exfoliating but gentle cleanser and my skin has never looked better. Katia helped me find the right foundation and foundation color my skin always needed. This was very special for me because as a WOC it's hard to decipher tones and shades when there are too many options to choose from but Katia worked with me to find a plethora of products for my wedding day that I can say with full confidence made me look like an editorial bride! The sephora location is great. Make sure you make an appointment to have a "professional" try out a product on you, otherwise it's difficult to get service. I have a complaint about the cashiers, they no longer provide samples, and act offended when you do ask for one. I don't get this because this was one of the small perks I loved from them. You still receive small samples for each $100 spent. Also, make sure you know the promotions ahead of time, cashiers will not help or inform of you of any. I mean, if they take away the samples then why not just purchase from Amazon? Or a department store?? read more

It is a little frustrating and difficult to get ahold of an employee in this location because they are so busy, but when I do get someone they are always very polite and helpful. I go to school in the area and every now and then before I head home I go to this Sephora instead of the one near by my house in Soho because I find this place to be less crowded. I am always able to walk over to what I want to see and the employees don't look as occupied with other shoppers as in the one in Soho. Don't get me wrong, both Sephora places have great staff, but I like a place where I can get more personalized attention, rather than rushed because there's a hundred tourists and native New Yorkers walking in and out the store. Last week, I selected her after walking around the store and looking at the eye makeup of a few employees to give me a sense of how they do their eye makeup. After looking at 5 people on the floor, I selected Tynesha and am glad for it. Whenever I go to the Time Warner building, I always love to stop at Sephora. They always have something that I can convince myself I need. I can spend hours and hours in there without even realizing it. I actually went in for an eyeliner and ended up getting 3 eyeliners, a blush, some perfume and that amazing benefit mascara. The staff is super friendly and they are always willing to help with tips and tricks and recommendations. The offerings are sublime. The store is a hotbed of activity (I marvel at how comfortable so many women are at trying on makeup in public, lol). They are fast as anything and offering too many tempting "sample sized" products on the way to the register (gah: I can never resist). The sales associates are so GOOD. I visited yesterday and I KNOW I was annoying. I asked for a lashes application, hesitated when faced with the different types of lashes, and then got cold feet when I really thought about it ("Um, maybe I need to do more research"). If that weren't enough, I then took up the same sales associate's time with the following antics (when I inquired about the wrong product combo): Me: "I'ts Urban Decay anti-aging eye primer" Sales Associate: "I think you mean Smashbox" Me: "Nope, I'm pretty sure its Urban Decay" Sales Associate: "I'll check; I could be wrong" (she checked; she wasn't); Let's walk over to Smashbox and see" Me: "Oh, yes; this is it!" She went through this without judgment or attitude. She was so matter-of-fact, it was intimidating, lol. And let me just say this: Ana, the Sales Associate who rang me up was DIVINE. The staff in this sephora are super helpful and attentive to your needs! This is a great store to check out as they often have new product promotions and stalls advertising And showing off the product. There are usually a few store members jotted about the store which makes getting help super easy and they are helpful and not pushy. This store is not the largest however it has everything you need with products from the most popular brands in there, makeup hair products perfume and skin care are all covered in this store. However be warned on weekends during the afternoon the store is pretty busy and the line to pay can be long but you are in luck if you are paying by card as you can go to a mobile type check out which is great and means you don't have to stand in line all afternoon. Super useful having a sephora in the Columbus circle mall as you can pick up cosmetic essentials with your groceries or clothes shopping. read more

Anyone who truly knows me knows that I love Sephora. Out of the many locations I have visited, this is one of the best. First of all, they have a live DJ. Some people may be freaked out by that, but I was in awe lol. Second, it's pretty sizable, which in turn means that they have a large assortment of products. Third, and most importantly, the staff members (do they really call themselves cast members? I never knew that lol!) are incredibly helpful. I always want to make sure that I leave with a product that will work well with my skin tone (and skin type, if I'm buying a skin care product. However, I usually only buy makeup products). One time, as I was helplessly wandering around the lipsticks in the Sephora Collection, a nice gentleman walked up to me, asked me for help, and eventually placed a gorgeous plum shade in my hands (I even got to try it on). In another visit, another cast member helped me pick out a fantastic shade of red lipstick (I'm sure by now it's apparent that I like lipstick) from Nars. Lastly, I was introduced to They're Real (the mascara by Benefit) at this location. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who introduced me to that, because that mascara is EVERYTHING! Actually, every time I've shopped in this location, someone asked me if I was 'finding everything OK.' The only reason why I give this review four stars instead of five is due to the lighting - it seems a little harsh to me. Go to ANY other Sephora in the city for a better experience. I don't know what was worse, having the "security guard" stalking me around the store for 30 minutes or the asking the greeter if that person was a manager on duty, being told he was security and then laughed at when I asked if I gave them a reason to believe I was shoplifting since he was following me around the store. Not going to make a long review about this because almost everyone have been to Sephora. I like going to this location because it's very convenient especially if i feel like going to Whole Foods afterwards. Staffs are nice and always make sure to help you even tho at certain time they can be very hard to reach out. So far i never encounter bad service from this location prob because it's less touristy unlike the one in Herald Sq or Times Sq. I just wish they open a lil bit late but hey you can never have what you wish for, right? read more

This is a fairly small Sephora but they have a good amount of staff and you can usually find somebody to help you quickly. I used to be in the area frequently and often stopped in to browse and shop. One cashier here was consistently so rude to me and I will never come back to this location because of her misery. I'm VIB Rouge, which is Sephora's highest level of rewards and means you usually get a couple samples thrown into your bag at checkout. This cashier told me on multiple occasions that they had no samples and then gave them to the girls before and after me. She refused to put tissue paper in my bag and always threw my receipt on the counter, instead of putting it in the bag or into my outreached hand. Rude AF and I will not be back. read more

The time to ask if I need assistance is when I'm literally walking up and down each aisle looking for a product, not as I'm leaving. The store just opened, plenty of customer service staff wandering around, speaking to one another, pretending to update floor stock, but always too busy to assist actual customers. This is a pretty large store! When I came in here, there was someone to direct us to the right section. And someone to come and help consult on a few items I was interested in. They have products you can sample, and stations where you can remove the products and apply others. I found it useful. The negative thing about Sephora is that the lighting is quite harsh and unnatural, so it's hard to get a sense of the products. read more

So disappointed with the customer service I received here this past weekend. I had not made an appointment prior to because I knew I had a business appointment and was not sure what time I would be available. Luckily the appointment was shorter then I thought so I rushed over to get my make up done for my birthday party that night. I went in, didn't see anyone as I walked in so I had to go on a manhunt to find a rep (strike 1). I walked to the middle where they apply the makeup and asked this rep can't remember her damn name, if someone could do my makeup, she was cleaning the brushes and not once looked up to talk directly to me (strike 2), instead she asked when I needed it done, I told her now if possible. She then rolled her eyes and said, wow, well let me see if someone can help you which I doubt (strike 3). She then finds someone asked her if she was available to do my makeup, the girl barely said, "oh no" and walked away (strike 4). The rep while continuing to clean her brushes, then tells me "I'll try and find someone", but never actually MOVES anywhere. I said fine, patience gone, and walk to the back of the perfumes, got 3 samples and walked out. PEACEEEE....... One star for the rep in the perfume section, decent customer service. I smell great!! I spend hundreds if not thousands in year and this is how you treat a loyal customer, smh. I did my own makeup and it came out great and I saved myself $50. read more

Honestly, I've never hated a Sephora so much. I have gone multiple times & their employees are SO RUDE! I went to go check if they had restocked on a lipstick and while I'm looking at the counter (inches away from it) one of the employees squeezes her way in between the counter and myself without saying anything and starts to rearrange the lipsticks. It took 3 times of me asking for her to pay attention to me and when she did "hear" me, she didn't look at me and acted like I was being a nuisance to her. I love Sephora in general because of the wide selection of products, easy access to products for sampling on your own, and in my experience, easy return policy for purchase missteps. I was looking for three specific products to purchase but had no clue which brands would be appropriate or what would work with my skin type. I asked the first person who crossed my path and Sophie/Sophia came to my rescue. She explained the products she recommended and was not offended when I questioned her about why they were better than others. She was also able to justify her recommendations against others. She was not condescending and understanding of my particular concerns. Almost always, I have had wonderful customer service experiences here; however, today I had a terrible time here... thanks to Guilermo (sp.), the customer service man at the perfume station. This man was not only rude to us but also made us feel he was doing us a huge favor by showing us perfumes. Then we asked him for samples of perfumes and he couldn't have been any more impolite. Not sure if he were having a bad day or woke up on the wrong side of the bed or this is his personality, irrespective, he seemed nonchalant and didn't want to help us. I am surprised he took up customer service as his job... he sure didn't want to do it today. This sephora location is very small. they have products available, but it is extremely hard to get the attention of a consultant because the store is very packed. It's so crowded that I didn't even want to browse around and look for products myself. When i first attempted to look around for product there was too mich people trying to get by. That ruined my desire to look for anything. The place is to congested. The cashier line was long and blocking you from walking to the back area. Shockingly, this is one of my favorite Sephora's in the city. You would think a smaller, less busy store would be my favorite but what sets this location apart is the service. Despite how busy it is, I've always had a helpful salesperson who took the time to go through products and answer all of my questions. They typically have everything I'm looking for in stock and there's very large selection as well. It's located on the second floor of Columbus Circle but has a great layout once you're in the store and even though it's usually busy, it doesn't ever feel congested and never a long line either. read more

Came in here for my make up appointment for my birthday yesterday. I was super early so I understood the wait and browsed around... once my time came I was assigned to Diany. I loved her! she asked me what look I was going for, where I was going -- just all the right questions. I showed her my dress and we proceeded from there. as she was applying products on my face from skin care to primers down to make up she was educating me, I loved that! Very personable and professional as well. I was comfortable with her 100% I loved my make up and loved the Nars weightless foundation she used on me. I was skeptical about buying it to use on my own only because of the other products I wasnt able to get (which I assumed is the only reason that made the make up looked so smooth) but I just tried it on my own using my own skin products and primer and that foundation is my new holy grail! This Sephora is extremely small, didn't carry any of the lines that I am particularly fond of.
