This location is located with Grand Central. So if you're in the neighborhood or in GCT and have time to kill, I highly recommend coming here. I really love L'Occitane as a brand. They're products are so high end and classy. I love that purchases come in a pretty yellow bag with tissue paper ready to be given as a gift, no wrapping or trip to Duane Reade required. Their products leave your skin and hair feeling sooooo soft and looking gorgeous. Most of feeling good is looking good. Upon a recent trip, Beatrice was extremely helpful. She showed me the items I needed and some new items, as well. She wasn't annoying pushing me to buy, so I felt confident and good about the purchases. L'Occitane is a pricy brand but I think well worth it. Especially with the great service at his location. read more

Got an email to redeem a small gift and decided to come to this location. When I walked in, Naidra greeted me right away and showed me the gift items that I would be getting. Not only she explained what they were, she sat me down and had me try them on right away. There is a sink, similar to Sabon, where you can test the items and wash them off. She's very professional and friendly and did a great job promoting the products without being pushy. Since I also got a 20% coupon for an item, I decided to splurge on a 500 ml Lavande lotion (regular price $24). I got one as a Xmas gift and loved it. It smells so good and makes my skin very smooth. I am not sure why this L'Occitane store location is not reviewed five stars because honestly out of all the stores in Manhattan, this one has the nicest representatives working there. I last went to make an exchange from a gift I had received, and Marsiel helped me. She was very sweet and professional. Luisiana and Meron have also helped me with previous purchases at this location and they were ownderful! I live close to a L'Occitane store, but I never go to it because I'd rather be helped by nice people, so I take the subway all the way to Grand Central just to go to this store location instead. It still remains my favorite in all Manhattan! read more

Robison from the 8th avenue location in NYC is beyond rude. The sales person was not pleasant either. I went in for an exchange and Robison treated me very bad, condescending, terrible customer service. I just wanted to leave . It ruined my experience for the products I enjoy. If you're wrinkly like the forehead of a Klingon, this is the place to go I guess. Full of Creams, oils, lotions and potions. Luxury products for those with delicate skins, the ones that hide the fact that you've been tired since 2007. All at your disposal while you wait for your train at Grand Central station. Located in Grand Central Terminal, it's such a pleasure to come here because I love to sample their products and try new things. On a recent visit, Beatrice was very professional and helpful. I don't know if she's a manager but she should be if she's not. Their hand and foot lotion is the absolute best. They leave your skin super soft without being greasy. The only thing I'll say if that it can be very expensive. But I highly recommend signing up for their emails. They offer coupons and discounts. This used to be my stop-and-check place after work. Every month I receive new offers in the mail. I can't use every product from here due to allergic reactions but the classic original brand is the best because it doesn't give any reactions. So smooth and silky. If you don't know what to get, just say you want the classic original without fancy stuff or fancy colors. They have friendly staff working at this location but every time I walk in, I see different faces. One thing for sure that they offer is a strong smell of garden. The moment you walk in the first thing you notice is like being in a garden, so flowery. I mean the smell and the colors. I'm not super impressed with the strong smell but I do think the lotion is fantastic. Like I said, silky smooth! My favorites include shower gel, scrub and lotion. Rude and condescending staff is my reason for not shopping at the Grand Central location. The man behind the counter was shockingly rude. I'm guessing he was planning to quite and wanted to hurt the organization. We'll, he succeeded. I love Molton Brown and will travel the additional distance to buy their products instead. This is a chain store for high end products in skin care. They smell nice and come in many scents. I do like the vanilla skin products. Having this store at Grand Central is nice in case you need some lotions when it's cold out or to buy a quick gift before boarding the train. The staff is a bit lazy, but will help if they see you are prepared to buy. Otherwise try the samples and be gone. I also do not like when you are treated unfairly. When a sales person helps someone spending more than $50 they get to cut the line over those waiting. read more

I walked in around 3pm and all staff members were assisting individuals. I understand that each person was busy but I received no acknowledgement. Even after I started waiting at the register no acknowledgement. A woman who came into the store after me rushed to the counter and received service before myself. Honestly at this point I should have left but this location is the closest to work so I stayed. The person who finally assisted me touched my shoulder when she passed by which made me uncomfortable. This review is for the hand cream only... the unscented shea butter hand cream is awesome. It's expensive at $28 for a large tube, but so worth it.. My hands get pretty beat up at work as I am constantly washing them. This hand cream is thick and rich but not greasy and it really moisturizes and protects your skin. A little bit goes a long way. And as far as other reviewers complaining about extremely pushy sales people at this shop... stop complaining, put your big girl pants on and tell them you don't require their assistance as you shop but if you do you'll let them know! They'll back off, trust me ;-) read more

The products are high quality and the well-priced holiday gift sets can make an easy secret Santa pick. Terrible and frustrating business practices. I came in the other week to try the brand's aluminum free ($20) roll-on deodorant (I'd heard good things and have been hoping to find a quality aluminum-free brand). I tried it out for a few days and quickly realized it wasn't doing the trick. I returned to the store to return it and, at the somewhat persistent suggestion of one the sales girls, ended up exchanging the roll-on for a more gel-like consistency version. She insisted that it'd be 'no problem' to return the item if it didn't work out. Well, the second product didn't work for me either. I returned to the store again this afternoon to return it, and was told that I could not return/exchange it as it had been used. When I explained that the sales associate specifically told me that returning it wouldn't be a problem, the woman (Manager I assume) told me that it didn't matter what I'd been told, I should have read the return policy on the receipt (which is odd as a receipt is by definition provided post-purchase) Regardless, a store that refuses to honor employees' commitments to customers is not one that I'll continue to give my business to. read more

I have been a loyal L'occitane customer for years and I got this email saying I can get this beauty gift with NO PURCHASE NECESSARY IN STORE. So I went to the Grand Central store to claim it this morning at 8:30am. This lady in store (she is the only one there at that time) told me i need to purchase an item to claim the gift. Then I was going to buy this travel size hand cream and went to pay at the counter. She then told me that I need to buy a full size item. Her attitude towards me was not good. My friend got the same email and she was able to claim the free gift at another L'occitane store without any purchase. I was very upset by the way i was treated. Shame on you L'occitane for hiring such a rude salesperson at this Grand Central location. You have just lost a very good long term loyal customer who had spent a lot of money on your products in the past years. read more

I love L'occitane products. The last time I shopped at this location was last year around the holidays. They had packaged gift sets and baskets on display so I grabbed a few. I thought I was getting a discount for prepackaged gift sets but they ring up each individual item (minus one star)! They were accommodating when I had to make a return. I've been in here a few times now. The products are great - my hands have never been so soft as after their hand cream - and they made it very easy to grab a great gift basket and run.
