Stopped in today to get some perfume, blush and eyebrow powder. I cant use pencil, I am a natural redhead and it is very hard to find a good match. So I usually blend two different powders and use an eyebrow brush. Thank God for Sephora for helping me with my redhead struggles! I found a brow powder duo by Anastasia, Auburn that is perfect! Christopher and Matthew helped me to find a great blush. Lala was AWESOME! IF you are in need of perfume, she is your expert. She really took her time with me and helped me find a great fragrance. WOW this is a big Sephora. So nice. At least their expansive nail polish selection isn't hidden by the cash wrap like the other locations. You will be pleasantly greeted, as always. This is literally my favorite Sephora in all of LA for so, SO many reasons. I have had only fantastic interactions. The first time I went in there I met this fabulous woman named Coco. She is the best. She's one of the managers there and was actually transferred from New York to be there. Let me just say, THANK YOU NEW YORK! She not only always says hi to me, but she is so honest about all the products. She helped me find fantastic foundation for my shade using the fancy color IQ system. She also always keeps me in the loop for new products coming out. Now she's not the only one who works there, but she's the only person I know the name of. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. This is why I LOVE this Sephora. They are great for helping you find anything and everything you need. I also love that if for some reason they can't help you they will find a different associate who can help you with a product that you are looking for. Also a great tip is that you can bring back anything you've used and get either your money back (with receipt) or store credit (without receipt) no matter how much you've used it. It's super nice what they do for you at Sephora. This is one of the many reasons why I am a VIB Rouge member. Overall I love this location the best for so many reasons. I was approached by Wendy and I'm so glad I was because she was so sweet, helpful and cared to listen about what I was actually interested in purchasing. Every single time I've strolled into this store, I've had a really pleasant experience. Lots of sales associates to help you at any given moment and they're not pushy. Smells good. Clean. Fun atmosphere. Today was a special day. Why you ask? Well if you go to Sephora RIGHT NOW, you can get your nails done. The girl running this is named Kayla, and she's awesome. My friend and I played around with a bunch of different colors (Sephora, OPI, NARS), and she even offered to put different designs on our nails for us. She was incredibly attentive & really spent time doing our nails, which I appreciated. She said this was the first time they've done this, but I'm hoping that they'll keep having this nail station out every weekend! I know that while I was waiting for my nails to dry (multiple times), I walked around and tried out all kinds of different products, so if anything, it gets customers to do that. read more

One of my good friends and co-worker was so excited to find out that Sephora in Santa Monica carried Carol's Daughter products. (This was before the Fox Hills Carol's Daughter store opened.)Don't get your panties in a twist, but those types of products benefit "our" hair. I'm sorry, but facts is facts. I ended up going get hooked up at another Sephora that carried the products. Flash forward and I found out the Carol's Daughter has something called Face Butter and I wanted to see if I could get it at Santa Monica Sephora since it's close to work. I didn't see it on the shelves. Not a big deal. The sales woman asked me if I needed help. I mentioned what I was looking for, so she started looking on the shelves. She didn't find it. Then she asked a co-worker. It took those two to tell me what I already knew. I'm a product whore, so I proceeded to browse. There had to be something in there that I needed, right? A tall blonde German woman came asked the same two sales women if they carried a fragrance called "Kai." One of the two said they didn't carry it, but she could try Nieman Marcus." I'm like, "What the eff?" I went over and told the woman, "Try Fred Segal. That's where I got it." I also told her how to get there, then one of the girls interrupted to add something. I couldn't tell if they were confused or annoyed. I ended buying a kabuki brush. This store, like many others on the Promenade, seems more like a Sephora annex. I went to this Sephora location yesterday to browse the aisles and was helped by staff while looking for brow care products. A staff member had asked if I needed help and I said I was looking for brow gel. The staff member told another staff member to help me, who then used Anastasia Beverly Hills products on my brows (she used a brow powder duo and brow gel). I like the work the staff member did on my brows and am now considering buying the products. Oh my dear lord, I love Sephora. Not only does it have an incredibly aesthetically-pleasing sounding name, it also has makeup and pretty girly things, which I like. My favourite memory of Sephora is heading here with my transvestite friend (unlike Eddie Izzard's "Executive Transvestite", he was more of a Courtney Love/grunge Transvestite) and spending hours cooing over this or that colour of nail polish and eye shadow. Sephora is one of the slickest, most well-designed large scale beauty products shops in the US. There are loads of them in California, and they are spreading fast and furious to other parts of the world (please see 5th Avenue NCY and the Champ de Elysees, near Kentucky. JUST kidding! It's in Paris). The decor is to die for, but try not to, as you'll miss out on some great beauty finds. All black and white tiles and slick black and white displays and hugehugehuge stores, Sephora will bring out the girly girl in all of us. First, they stock some great lines such as Benefit, Urban Decay, Soap and Glory, but they also do their own line which competes in quality with Smashbox and other high-end makeup manufacturers. Their naile polish is especially good, with all the latest trends - including Kim Cattrall's recent giltgiltGold in SATC 2, and Lily Allen's matte gray Computer Monitor (both of which I own, OF COURSE). The Sephora staff are indubitably helpful, if a little pouncy. I only need to be asked once if I need help, then after that, please leave me alone. I understand you're trying to be helpful (read: please mystery shoppers), but I really don't need every single one of your employees greeting me. The collection in Sephora in Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade is staggering. Display after display of chic, well-lit cleansers, toners, moisturisers, shampoos and lip plumpers assault the eye in a pretty, shiny ambience whose target demographic is YOU. I say give in. British (yes, her name is British, and that's fabulous, deal with that) made my experience in one of my favorite stores absolutely wonderful. She was helpful, knew virtually everything about everything in Sephora, and was just sweet and friendly in general. Sephora is a wonderful emporium a huge variety of brands of cosmetics, but the downside of this being a "playground" is that it's simply impossible for each brand's station to be guaranteed clean without a person there to watch over it like they would at a counter at Saks or Nordstrom (I'm not including Macy's because those are often unattended). Still, this Sephora manages to be fairly clean considering. I will test products on my han them wipe down with alcohol, but under no circumstances will I try something from a non-pump container on me face- it's not worth it. I've seen far too many people directly apply a lip gloss to their mouths here to get too hopeful I'm dipping my cotton swab into a sanitary container. That said, this is not the fault of the company or the people there- they do their best to stop this. Lovely store, and great experience thanks to the fabulous, and fabulously named, British. If you know what you want, Sephora is great! The range of cosmetics is awesome. The perfume sampler is good and you can see what notes are in each scent. I personally make my own, usually organic. If you want someplace to try on makeup, this is not it. Or maybe I'm too old for the heavy eyeliner, cheap slut look the staff put on me and told me I looked great. I absolutely love coming to Sephora =) Its like an adventure every time. I really enjoy all the products they carry and the staff are super friendly (even if they are a bit overwhelmed at times by the customers) It helps that all the products are up to date and that there always having specials or deals going on. I also felt that they were knowledgeable in answering my questions and weren't pushing to sell one specific brand. Large selection of various makeup companies' products. I love that Urban Decay clearly labels their vegan products (which is most of them) with a paw print. Last time I was here I saw that UD has some beautiful new eyeliners. Lots of Smashbox products here as well (many are vegan). For some reason I like to come here and try out products on my hand, even though I don't own or wear much makeup. So as any girl that walks by sephora I decided to stop... Of course I wasn't going to buy anything I just wanted to be a girl and start testing every single thing in the store, and then I remembered. My face has been suffering from nasty blackheads which has not been a problem until now that I get them more frequently. I decided to ask for help and Greg came to my rescue. Greg and Mehrak teamed up like the Kobe and Shaq of skin care and together recommended the best skin care product I've ever tried in my whole entire life. I was eager to purchase it once they demonstrated what this amazing little gel did to my hand. I went home and needless to say I tried the gel on everyone in the house! They absolutely loved it and now everyone wants to have one! Greg and Mehrak are amazing! Very friendly very knowledgable and Greg is especially very personable and of course he has great skin! I usually love coming to this Sephora because the staff is usually really nice but the last time I came, left a sour taste in my mouth. I buy many Sephora products, from Laura Mercier foundation to Buxom lipstick. Sometimes, I choose a color lipstick that I do not like and the very nice friendly gentleman will usually let me exchange for another color with no trouble. The last time I went, I had bought a lipstick just one week before and wanted another color. The girl who rang me up did not seem too happy with this. She was looking at the product up and down as if I did something to it or something, jeez, I usually never get this hassle so I was quite annoyed. She even made me go get another one for her to scan, I don't mind but damn girl, isn't that your job? I think I just got the wrong person but I still love Sephora so 3 stars it is. read more

I shop at this Sephora quite often and usually my experience is pleasant. Michelle in the skin-care section is awesome-always helpful and smiling! She knows her stuff and even remembers customers by name! Julie (MUA, NARS counter) is also very nice and helpful. A cpl. more people in their skin-care section (whose names I don't remember, unfortunately) have been very helpful with product recommendation. I did have some issues with product availability a cpl. of times, though. Even though the Sephora website indicated that a certain product was available at this specific store, it hadn't even arrived in stock there (nor did the employees know anything about it). Also, on occasion, I've felt that the MUA recommended a wrong shade for me (for example, a foundation match that visibly turned orange on my skin, and when I asked for a better option, I was told that it was my skin chemistry). Thankfully, the current MUAs there are much nicer and very receptive to the customer's needs and offer way better recommendations. Overall, though, this is a good place to shop at, for your skin-care and make-up needs. read more

I asked 3 different representatives for assistance with foundation and after waiting nearly 20 minutes without any assistance, I left. It doesn't feel good to be blatantly ignored and overlooked for other customers that came in after I did. I had the same situation with Sephora when I placed an order 20 times larger than the one I placed with elf and they sent me a canned reply that they were not able to alter an order once received and that I could return it if I wanted to. If I could give zero stars I would. Upon entering this Sephora location, no one greeted me. I started browsing through makeup and was looking for a specific product. Several Sephora staff walked by me without greeting me or offering any assistance. I saw two of them gossiping instead of working. Once I got to the cashier, the experience got worse. She looked me up and down as if she were judging me and had an extremely snooty attitude. Didn't smile and seemed like she hated her job and couldn't wait to get us out of there.
