Nothing really fancy about the station but overall I think this service is awesome. I do see a lot…read moreof complaints on about this SEPTA Regional Rail line but to me most are petty. Keep in mind that I'm speaking through the eyes of a guy who lived in neighborhoods that required commutes into Center City by way of the 48, 32, 7 busses or even worse, the El. You would see some real scavengers on those routes. The regional rail costs a little more but is well worth it to me. Trains are always clean. I find most regular passengers on the train to be a civilized bunch. The worst you get is the occasional yuppie gabbing away on the phone for all to hear. Yes, trains can run late in the morning and the train conductors always seem miserable. Again, a small price to pay for a clean, safe ride into Center City. If you can deal with such minor inconveniences, you have a 20 minute or so ride with no traffic. Ever tried getting back to East Falls, Manayunk or Roxborough on a Friday afternoon via bus? FUGETABOWIT! I'll take the occasional delayed train any day of the week. For those who complain, try taking an hour long ride on the trey-deuce (32 bus) to work for a week.

So why would I want to review a SEPTA Station? It's simple; folks on the main line think that the…read moretrain to take into the city is the R5. They are correct in that it will get you there. But what about convenience? Almost all the R5 stations charge for parking. Ughh! Next you need to change trains at a big station like 30th Street or Suburban to get to restaurant row. Not necessarily a pleasant experience! Now let's talk about Ardmore Junction. It's on the Norristown High Speed Line. Let me say that again; it's fast! Parking is free which is a big plus. You change trains at 69th street in Upper Darby to the Market-Frankford line. It's a very easy change. Now you have access to all of the Market, Chestnut, and Walnut Street restaurants. If you are on the mainline, do yourself a favor and think about the Norristown High Speed Line the next time you consider going into the city.

The station itself is non-existent except for something akin to a bug shelter. There is no ticket office and there is only a money box for you to insert quarters (or an envelope for money). Following the directions on the SEPTA website, I did park my car for several nights at this station as I took the train to the airport - you basically need to insert an envelope and check into the parking payment thing that clearly states your car and how many nights you will be parked. Seems a bit primitive given our technology these days, but hey it worked! This is also the last stop in Zone 3, so anything beyond this is Zone 4 pricing which is a few bucks higher.

There is parking but it's normally filled up with people commuting towards Philly. If you do want to park there, make sure to take quarters with you (4 to be exact) and find the big, thin, inconspicuous box with coin slots to drop in your quarters into the appropriate number to pay for parking. It's $1/day so that's nice. Also, make sure to take with you cash to pay for your fare because the train conductors don't take credit cards. Trains are normally not on time (aka late anywhere from 2-3 mins to 15-20 mins). This is what passes as public transportation here.

It is small and lightly-traveled compared to its neighboring stops. - Unlike most SEPTA stations, you are much more likely to find an available parking space at the Daylesford station. (They are not a stop for Express trains.) - There is a shelter but no office here. You have to buy tickets on the train, or at another station. - This line connects at 30th Street Station, to access Amtrak, and other regional rail lines. It also stops at other center city stations, to connect with regional rail and subway lines. This line does not go directly to the airport. You are better off getting a taxi or private car for the time it would take to make connections for the airport. Practical Info: - This station is surrounded by residential zoning, so if you are trying to get to a business, pick another stop. - This station is easy to miss driving down 30, unless you know where you're going. Cars move more quickly on this stretch of 30 because it's residential and there is no business in-and-out traffic to slow things down, nor any lookie-loo at stores or anything. Also, lights are spread out a lot more on this stretch which makes people speed. - Check online maps programs for landmarks, so you don't pass it.

Used SEPTA for the first time today and they actually had an attendant working the ticket station…read more(not used to that in Boston). She approached me and offered advice for which ticket to purchase with the new SEPTA key, how much to purchase down to the penny to ensure every pass I use will deduct down to zero instead of some odd amount, and how to register my card and get $4.95 back. Surprised how easy she made it. Subway car came on schedule, was clean with seating, had AC, and was much quicker than the T in Boston. Station was typical to expect for public transit in a non financial or tourist area: its a little dirty outside the gates and has its regulars around the station.

Great station for a quick trip into the city. Trains to the city run at the :56 minute of the hour…read moreonce an hour. Also with open side streets close by you can park for free if you are spending the night in the city and don't want your car towed or want to save a dollar for parking. Ticketing window only stays open until about 11:30 in the afternoon so be prepared to pay on the train if you arrive later then that.

Park-n-Ride Septa regional rail service on the Newark/Wilmington line accessible from Market…read moreStreet. I use this station pretty often to get to Center City. It's kind of desolate with a long overpass connecting the two sides. With the current construction it was very hard to tell how to get from one side to the other because the usual steps were gone. In its place are a winding tower of scaffolding steps. Scary. I parked on the side my train coming back would leave me so I wouldn't have to scale that thing at night. On the plus side the station now has a ticket kiosk.
