The other company had me waiting for more than a month. The other reason is because Super Bros was super communicative and explained the whole process before it started, asked lots of questions about my preferences, and was incredibly transparent about every details and process. My primary point of contact for this job was Jeremy. He was actually another reason that I went with Super Bros, as I never felt like he was trying to upsell anything or push me into doing something I didn't want or need. He was clear about where there were options and where he has seen challenges from a project like mine in the past. His experience and demeanor were what locked it in for me. After agreeing to use Super Bros, the next week I was met by Mike, who walked through with me as he was point on the project. I work from home so I was around for the entire thing, but I can honestly say that there was barely any disruption to my workday. Yes, the water was off for one of the 3 days of work, but other than that and the expected noise of cutting out metal pipes here and there, the disruption was nearly invisible. I gave one star because they responded quickly and were able to schedule us promptly for an inspection at no charge. I gave another star because Gabe was friendly, professional, and did a thorough inspection using cameras to show us exactly what was happening in our pipes. Unfortunately, the experience changed when additional personnel became involved. The conversation quickly felt more like a high-pressure sales presentation than a service call. We were quoted nearly $50,000 for a complete home replumb, which was a major shock. What was most frustrating was that no temporary solution was offered to get our plumbing functioning again to allow us time to look at our finances and plan for such a high dollar long-term repair option. After sharing the quote with friends, we were referred to another local plumber. He came out the very next day, cleared the roots, fixed the shower, identified the exact location of the damaged pipes, and scheduled the necessary repairs for the following weeks. The cost was a fraction of what we were quoted by Drain Time, including permits, materials, and labor. While I appreciated the responsiveness and professionalism during the initial inspection, I ultimately felt that the proposed solution was excessive for our immediate needs to help us get back up and running.

But after hanging up, I tried his instructions. And sure enough it fixed the problem. Long story short, if you have a spare bath that is unused. Not running the flush or shower can cause a ?vacuum? where the sewer smell could escape... (something like that, but don't quote me). I haven't written a review here in years, but wanted to let everyone know that Kaelin (Draintech) is a good and honest business. He could have kept our appointment and I would have happily paid for his visit. But instead gave me the instructions to fix it myself. That's amazing. He didn't get a payment from me this time around, but he earned a faithful customer for any future plumbing issues I might encounter.
